My son has been going to Busy Bees for 18 months, and they are a brilliant childcare provider. In particular, I have noticed lots of new things he's learned from nursery - language, songs, dances, and social skills, they offer a great range of activities, and it's very obvious that he enjoys his time
there and feels secure and safe. The staff are friendly and informative and always have time to discuss any queries/needs you have as a (sometimes anxious!) parent. The nursery management is very slick, and the inclusion of family days and social events has been brilliant since the lockdown restrictions have eased - it's been brilliant to meet others and see my son so happy in his room. In terms of the 'technical' stuff, Busy Bees are brilliant for risk assessment, administering medication and communication, and the food/nutrition is second to none. Since my son's been able to talk, he's expressed happiness at going to Busy Bees and now says he "loves" it! Would highly recommend it to others.

My son has been at Busy Bees Castle View since I returned to work after maternity leave. The nursery is so inviting and the outside space the kids have is amazing. All the staff are so lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them. Communication is fab and I feel at ease knowing my boy is well cared
for whilst I work. He will be starting his funding hours soon at Castle View, couldn't imagine sending him anywhere else.

My son has been going to Busy Bees now for almost two years, and he loves it! He loves going there and talks about it when at home. The staff are amazing and very helpful. They are good and keeping you updated with the goings on and always give me an update when I pick my son up. He is always talking
about what activities he got up to and what he played with. I’ve had such a great experience so far.

My son has been at Busy Bees since he was a wee baby. He has progressed through each room and stage as such a happy and confident child, completely supported by the wonderful staff. This preschool year had been his most challenging with new emotions and learning and the 1 on 1 support has been brilliant.
He is treated as an individual and is allowed to flourish as a result. I would highly recommend Busy Bees Castle View and all the staff.

Busy Bees has been incredible for our son. My 3-year-old boy has attended the nursery since he was 1 and has continuously been supported with his development milestones in the best way by the most wonderful team. He thoroughly enjoys attending nursery and speaks highly of the staff regularly. He's made
such a strong bond with them which gives us peace of mind whilst we work and faith that he is being encouraged to try different activities that support his learning. He's encouraged to try different foods and learn about various cultures which we love as it can be a challenge trying to get him to eat a wide range of foods at home and we want him to be respectful of others' beliefs growing up. Our families' beliefs are also 100% respected at Busy Bees. Our son is being supported with a star chart that we also use at home to help him focus on achieving certain goals each day. The result of this has been phenomenal. The daily updates are great through the app too. 10/10 all around.

I am delighted with the care my little girl, who attends Busy Bees, Castle View receives. Due to lockdowns, she did have some separation issues when she first started, but she is now enjoying going to nursery and I get the impression that the staff members are amazing with her and really genuinely care.
She loves telling us about her little friends and she has grown hugely in confidence which is amazing to see. The meals provided by the nursery are amazing, even if my little one is still rather fussy! I know the staff really try to encourage her to try things and make sure she doesn’t go hungry if she doesn’t want what’s on the menu that day. I love that the app gets updated throughout the day, so I can see what she is up to and staff are great at updating my partner when he collects her, who can then update me! So happy I enrolled my daughter at Castle View.

Our two and a half-year-old daughter used to attend a different nursery, but after we moved house we decided to enrol her in Castle View, as it is closest to where we live now. We were a bit apprehensive that she might find it difficult to adjust and get used to the new setting and people, but it turned
out we had nothing to worry about. When we pick her up she always has a smile on her face and is excited to tell us what she's been up to, whereas at the old nursery she would often run towards us crying, just wanting to go back home, plus she goes in, in the morning without a fuss, which never happened at the old nursery. All the staff we have come across are lovely, always friendly at drop off and happy to have a chat at pick up and tell us about what our daughter has been up to. That's in addition to the updates we get through the app, like what she ate, when she had her nappy changed and occasional photos. Our daughter is happy and so are we.

My son has been attending Busy Bees Castle View Nursery for the last 2.5 years. The staff are friendly, energetic and work continuously to ensure the children are gaining the right experiences and skills for life. A recent virtual parents evening with my son's key worker was thorough and informative
and the app keeps me up to date on a day to day basis with how my son is developing and areas to continue to develop or supplement at home. Most of all, I will never forget the support this nursery gave me during the pandemic, maintaining my son's routines and enabling me to keep working on the frontline.

My daughter has attended this nursery since she was 11 months old and is now a few months away from starting school. She has loved her time here and has learned lots of new skills and made so many friends. It has helped her become very confident and sociable, which I am sure will make her transition
to school so much easier. The ladies at the nursery are all amazing with the children and really build a bond with them, meaning she always looks forward to going in, each morning. There is always a range of fun activities for the children to do each day and it is great being kept up to date via the app with comments and pictures of how they are getting on and what they are working on.

My 3.5 year old has attended this nursery since they were 14 months old and it has become a regular delight of his week. The staff are all very friendly and appear to really get to know your child, as well as maintaining positive communication with me as a parent. My child loves his time at Castle View,
where he has been supported to become more confident and social with his peers.

My child has attended this nursery full time since he was 10 months old, he is now in pre-school so he has experienced every room in the nursery. He loves nursery. He is such a happy, confident boy and a lot of this is down to the care he gets at nursery. Not only is he looked after well and fed extremely
well, he is also getting a good early years education. His speech, numbers and understanding of letters is really good for his age. The nursery is such a happy, welcoming place. The staff are great at keeping us up to date with our child's progress and we get multiple updates daily via the app. The staff always have time for a chat about progress too at drop off/pick up.
Our child particularly loves spending time outside and the nursery has great outdoor spaces.

It is hard to find fault with this nursery. Excellent food options, exceptional staff and great facilities. We are kept up to date with info on the app. Check out their care inspectorate report if you are in any doubt, they couldn't find faults either! Our son has been going to this nursery since he
was one and he starts school after the summer. It's going to be really hard to say goodbye to the team here as they are all so amazing.

My daughter has been at this nursery since she was 8 months old and is now 4 years old. My daughter thrives at nursery and always looks forward to going to nursery. She adores every member of staff, they are very much a second family! Nothing is ever too much for them and parents are kept well informed
of anything they have done that day and events coming up. I love the fact she is constantly learning and being taught something different every day!

Cannot fault this nursery in the slightest. My little girl is always so excited to go in, in the morning. There are a huge range of activities they do each day, which are things you wouldn’t tend to do with your child at home. The food is always freshly made on-site and a wide range of healthy meals
each day. The staff are lovely and welcoming and you feel safe leaving your child within their care.

My daughter has been going to this nursery for about a year and a half since she was two years old. The staff are all lovely and we love the app which gives us updates on what she’s had to eat and some of the activities they’ve been up to along with photos. She really enjoys her nursery days and gets
a lot out of it, she loves playing in the outdoor area which they do often.

Busy Bees at Castle View Dunfermline strive for excellence in delivering care to its children. My experience with my two children has been second to none. The staff go above and beyond in cultivating fantastic relationships with the children. As well as following the curriculum and looking after their
well-being they actively encourage their individual interests and creativity. During lockdown nursery was the only outlet my children had contact with other children and adults in a safe and welcoming environment. It was absolutely invaluable for their physical and mental development. My friends who have since joined Busy Bees upon my recommendation couldn't be happier with the care their children receive.

Both my children have attended Busy Bees Castle View since they turned one year old and both love it. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and nothing is ever too much. It is has been a very challenging time for childcare over the last 18 months but the management and staff have dealt with
restrictions etc brilliantly. I have recommended the centre to friends and anyone who asks for recommendations and will continue to do so. I feel confident that my children are happy and safe when in the care of Busy Bees Castle View.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.886)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.886) out of 10 for Busy Bees Castle View is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.986 for Busy Bees Castle View is calculated as follows: ( (71 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.986
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Castle View is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 100 number of registered child places is 20. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 20 = 0.3
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
