My child has attended this nursery full time since he was 10 months old, he is now in pre-school so he has experienced every room in the nursery. He loves nursery. He is such a happy, confident boy and a lot of this is down to the care he gets at nursery. Not only is he looked after well and fed extremely
well, he is also getting a good early years education. His speech, numbers and understanding of letters is really good for his age. The nursery is such a happy, welcoming place. The staff are great at keeping us up to date with our child's progress and we get multiple updates daily via the app. The staff always have time for a chat about progress too at drop off/pick up.
Our child particularly loves spending time outside and the nursery has great outdoor spaces.

It is hard to find fault with this nursery. Excellent food options, exceptional staff and great facilities. We are kept up to date with info on the app. Check out their care inspectorate report if you are in any doubt, they couldn't find faults either! Our son has been going to this nursery since he
was one and he starts school after the summer. It's going to be really hard to say goodbye to the team here as they are all so amazing.

My son has been at Castle View for over two years and loves it. All the staff are so friendly and make so much effort with my son's interests and needs. Food is always a hit and even better, that there are often recipes to try at home.

My daughter has been at this nursery since she was 8 months old and is now 4 years old. My daughter thrives at nursery and always looks forward to going to nursery. She adores every member of staff, they are very much a second family! Nothing is ever too much for them and parents are kept well informed
of anything they have done that day and events coming up. I love the fact she is constantly learning and being taught something different every day!

Cannot fault this nursery in the slightest. My little girl is always so excited to go in, in the morning. There are a huge range of activities they do each day, which are things you wouldn’t tend to do with your child at home. The food is always freshly made on-site and a wide range of healthy meals
each day. The staff are lovely and welcoming and you feel safe leaving your child within their care.

My daughter has been going to this nursery for about a year and a half since she was two years old. The staff are all lovely and we love the app which gives us updates on what she’s had to eat and some of the activities they’ve been up to along with photos. She really enjoys her nursery days and gets
a lot out of it, she loves playing in the outdoor area which they do often.

Busy Bees at Castle View Dunfermline strive for excellence in delivering care to its children. My experience with my two children has been second to none. The staff go above and beyond in cultivating fantastic relationships with the children. As well as following the curriculum and looking after their
well-being they actively encourage their individual interests and creativity. During lockdown nursery was the only outlet my children had contact with other children and adults in a safe and welcoming environment. It was absolutely invaluable for their physical and mental development. My friends who have since joined Busy Bees upon my recommendation couldn't be happier with the care their children receive.

Both my children have attended Busy Bees Castle View since they turned one year old and both love it. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and nothing is ever too much. It is has been a very challenging time for childcare over the last 18 months but the management and staff have dealt with
restrictions etc brilliantly. I have recommended the centre to friends and anyone who asks for recommendations and will continue to do so. I feel confident that my children are happy and safe when in the care of Busy Bees Castle View.

My daughter attends the nursery. She’s one and seems to love going. There has been noticeable differences in her development since she has started. The staff are great and friendly. The app is a great resource for feedback and updates throughout the day. She has dietary requirements which are met,
which has been really helpful and very easy to coordinate.

My daughter who has been at nursery since she was one now loves pre-school. After a difficult time re-adjusting after lockdown the staff worked incredibly hard to make her feel comfortable again and she now gets excited about coming to nursery. The outdoor space is great and the different activities
offered are building my daughter's learning.

After having a baby just before lockdown, she was then with me 24/7 and unable to meet any new people. When deciding to introduce her to a nursery at around 18 months old to develop her socialising, Castle View could not have been any more comforting and accommodating with the difficulty of me leaving
her for the first time. The staff were excellent at settling my little girl in and making me feel comfortable with leaving her in new surroundings. My little one absolutely loves it here, and has done it from day one, which is so reassuring. I’m so glad to see her so happy to go in with the staff, I feel very confident in leaving her in such a safe and happy environment and wouldn’t have her go anywhere else!

Our son has been at Busy Bees for almost 2 years and he absolutely loves it. The staff are amazing and if there’s ever any issues or queries, they are seen to promptly. I have decided to keep my son here instead of school nursery as he loves it so much and thrives. His interests are always encouraged
and the staff really make a tremendous effort to ensure he is happy and safe

My daughter loves going to nursery, she always enjoys her time there. The settling-in process is well thought out and gentle for young children. The staff are all very friendly and her key worker is brilliant. We love receiving updates and photos throughout the day on the parent app as it gives us peace
of mind. We are already seeing progress in her development and she's only been attending for three months!

The team always impresses me how they know every parent's name even though we are all hidden behind masks. Most recently we started potty training with our toddler and I had no idea how that would work at nursery. Forgive me I can’t remember who I spoke with but she spend 25 mins on the phone talking
me through top tips, ideas and they would integrate this in nursery. I was ever so grateful to have someone to talk to about this. Not only are the team great with my daughter but supports me too. Many thanks

Both my children attend Busy Bees Castle View. The building is clean and inviting for the children. The gardens are fantastic with a lovely woodland area. The staff are incredible. I cannot rate this nursery highly enough. A fantastic start for children’s learning. It will be a sad day when my eldest
has to leave for Primary.

My little one has only attended this nursery since September however I’ve noticed a big difference in her. She used to be so shy but now she’s come out of her shell much more. She is often asking for members of the staff at the nursery when we are at home. It’s good to see she’s built a relationship
with the staff in her class.

Excellent attention and care given to ensure child development needs are met, and that our child is getting the most out of going to nursery. Key development goals are continually being assessed, and nursery staff are constantly finding new ways to engage with our child through play to help achieve
these goals. All center staff are very friendly and approachable, and they are always there to help when required. This nursery has proven to be the perfect environment for our child to become used to socialising, and has been an ideal stepping stone to set them up for their future development and education.

Facilities/Outdoor space:
I love the outdoor area at Castle View it gives lots of learning opportunities for my daughter. Going on woodland trails or just playing hide and seek outside in the garden.

Learning:
I would love to hear more about my daughters learning in the app, I want to know more

about her day. Like what did she learn today in more detail. I'd also love to see more pictures of her. I know some nurseries do end of term nursery photos I'd love to be notified when that happens. Every parent loves a picture.

Care:
I'd like to see more diaper changes there's been a few times she has come out of nursery with a full diaper and once a pooped diaper. Also, her nose if it needs wiping I don't want to see previous snot all dried around her nose.

Safeguarding:
I do believe the nursery is good at safeguarding.

Based on the outdoor area this definitely is a great nursery. The outdoor area is one of the main reasons why we chose this nursery. The staff seem lovely.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.526)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.526) out of 10 for Busy Bees Castle View is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.976 for Busy Bees Castle View is calculated as follows: ( (164 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 168 Ratings = 4.976
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.55 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Castle View is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 100 number of registered child places is 20. 14 Positive Reviews ÷ 20 = 0.7
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
