The recently refurbished Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Newbiggin makes you feel like you've gained new family members when you meet their friendly, approachable team at their purpose-built, all-on-one level nursery.

Their ParentZone app keeps parents informed about life at nursery with photos from their day, assessments, meals are eaten and even toilet training progress! They are big on safety which is why all their staff are Paediatric first aid trained.

The nursery are Green Flag eco schools accredited, a programme that sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver big environmental differences. They have areas for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to local care homes and take care of each other and the world.

They have 5 Little Pioneers to help share their core values with children, such as encouraging them to be independent to expressing their feelings.

The nursery has an outdoor play area that is surrounded by the remainder of the building, making it a safe and secure environment for children to play in. Staff and children take advantage of all of the local amenities which include two play areas, one at the entrance to nursery and one at the rear.

It took a while for my child to settle in at nursery, but now has a great bond with the key worker and is happy to be left, the key worker is really lovely, my child enjoys the time at nursery and the activities they do, my child's development is definitely progressing faster since joking the nursery,
I have already recommended the nursery to an in law and their child will be starting here too.

1) Teaching alphabets is a bit poor, numbers and skills I realised that when I compare my older son who spent a year in pre-school class with the list of his class mates who were in another nursery, then he learned all of that in no time in another place. Now I see the same situation with my other son
who goes to another place two days and half.
2) Once I had terrible situation when I came to nursery in unexpected time and saw my son topless outside the nursery in a cold day because the alarm test and he had a fever so they didn't cover his chest to take him out which caused his lung infection and asthma for 3 days.

I have had all of my children in The Co-operative Childcare Newbiggin over a 6 year period and I have never had reason to complain. The facilities are great and the children from baby to pre-school get to take part in activities they wouldn't get in all nurseries. The girls/carers have all been very
attentive with all my children and open to any suggestions during parents evening.

Absolutely loved this nursery, he's come on loads since been at nursery. Staff so friendly and wonderful with all the children and look after them as if they are their own! Highly recommend this nursery!

This is a fab nursery, I cannot thank everyone enough with the care and support they have given to both me and my child. She looks forward to coming to nursery which is so nice as a parent so see. This is largely to do with the staff and the environment. My child has come on loads, all of her social
and educational skills have come on leaps and bounds. The care is personalized, my child was a very fussy eater and staff have spent time with her to encourage her to try new foods. I cannot recommend this nursery enough.

My little boy has been at this nursery since he was 9 months old. The staff are great with him. He has come on loads since starting pre school. My little girl will be starting at this nursery in December. I couldn't recommend this nursery enough.

The co-operative nursery has helped develop my son so much. I can't thank the staff enough. He is a confident little boy who is very sociable and loves meeting new people. All the staff have gone above and beyond to help my child with his toilet training. It's great how they got him involved in tasks
and making rewards charts. I've received so much support and advise from the staff which has helped me with him at home.

Fantastic nursery, my son went here for two years from 2-4 years old, they helped him loads to overcome his shyness and helped with his speech problem. I then placed my daughter in here when she turned two and she loves it, they teach to a fantastic level.
It's great that one teacher does one to one
with you when you pick your child up, the whole team have been an amazing support network not only for my two children, but also myself. The Co-op team have given my children a fantastic start to education.

I was first recommended the nursery for my middle child. He was 2 years old, non verbal and i was struggling. The nursery straight away assigned him a knowledgeable and understanding key worker. The nursery worked closely with speech and language and went above and beyond for my son, teaching him sign
language which helped him progress to verbal communicating. My son attended school for 2 years and they ensured he was prepared for school. I now have my youngest child attending. My youngest is very shy and has a few medical concerns, allergies, eczema and asthma. I love that i do not have to worry when i take him as he is well looked after and they cater to his allergies, preparing all food appropriately. I could not recommend this nursery more.

I have only ever experienced good practice from the nursery and the staff, It has been a relief knowing both children are in the best care I have found, the children all seem settled within the setting and with key person.
