A welcoming and 'Outstanding' rated Ofsted nursery in Didsbury.

The Didsbury Day Nursery and Preschool is situated just off Barlow Moor Road and is an ideal location for parents commuting to and from Manchester. Providing quality childcare and education, supporting every child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

Following a recent refurbishment, the nursery has excellent facilities and six qualified teachers working in the nursery. All age groups have access to the outdoors where the garden allows them to be outside on a daily basis. The nursery holds regular activities and events for families throughout the year, including an annual Graduation Ceremony for children leaving the nursery for ‘big School’.

All-inclusive fees mean that you have less to pack on a busy morning, with everything from healthy lunches and snacks to branded nappies and wipes included.

The nursery has been awarded an Ofsted rating of ‘Outstanding’ for their commitment to high quality childcare and education (February 2017).

The nursery has made the transition from maternity leave to full-time work easier and has made our son into a really sociable, loving young boy. He has made some fantastic relationships with everyone and we are really grateful for everyone's support.

We love the friendly staff who give us confidence our son is in a loving environment. All of the games and activities are fun, engaging and educational. We are confident our son can grow and develop to his full potential. We would like updates and photos via an app instead of the traditional paper reports.
The report's contents are, however, excellent so we can still track his progress.

My son attends the baby room every morning and I couldn't be happier with the care he receives. The staff are amazing. They all know what they are doing and my son has grown so much in every area since being there. He enjoys going to nursery and is always happy when I go to pick him up. The staff are

My son was at Bright Horizons from two years until five years old. He loved being there. The staff took really good care of him. He had all the attention that he needed. The nursery really helped with his personal development and growth. Thank you all, he misses you so much.

A really lovely nursery. Management are always very welcoming when I pick my niece up from nursery and the staff that look after her always there to tell me how her day has been and any other details I need to discuss, they are always on hand to help. I couldn't recommend this nursery enough.

My daughter has been attending Bright Horizons Didsbury since she was 1 year old and she will be leaving at the end of this week, now 3 and a half. The last 2 and a half years I have watched her grow and develop in all aspects thanks to the great staff and team at Bright Horizons Didsbury. She looks
forward to her nursery days and talks happily about her friends and favourite key workers at home. She started in Baby 1 and learnt to walk whilst in Baby 2. They were a fab help with potty training whilst in Toddlers and she’s learning to draw shapes and write her own name now in Preschool. The food selection for vegetarians is also good and I am always told that my daughter has eaten well often asked for second and even third helpings so I know she’s well fed during her day at nursery. I have only positive things to say about this nursery and will definitely look to send my second child to a Bright Horizons nursery in the future. Thank you, we will miss you all.

My daughter has attended this nursery since she was 9 months old, she is now 2 and a half. She absolutely loves coming into nursery and has learnt so much whilst being here. The toddler room has supported me throughout potty training which was a massive help! Also, a great support when we decided to
take her dummy away, these two were a big thing for my little girl so we are very grateful all the staff supported us with these. All the staff are very kind always smiling and make the room a fun and happy place to be in! The menu is great, we are really happy at how well she eats here as we struggle to get her to eat vegetables at home, so with her getting so many good things at nursery it makes us really happy!

My little boy has attended Bright Horizons Didsbury from being 10 months old. The staff in Baby 1 are fantastic. They got to know my son really well in a short space of time; his likes, dislikes and just understanding what makes him tick as he is very independent! As a parent, I find it very easy to
communicate with the nursery and the team are always happy to work with how you do things as a family. I have never felt awkward about asking for something to be done in a certain way. The children are clearly entertained and engaged throughout the day and I do not spend any of my working day worrying if he is OK - I know he is in really safe hands - which is basically what you want as a new mum. I would not hesitate to recommend Bright Horizons to anyone looking for childcare - it has a lovely, lively atmosphere and nursery drop offs are actually really enjoyable - nowhere near the harrowing experience new parents imagine!

Bright Horizons has been fantastic for my daughter. She has been going there since she was six months old, and is only going to leave it now that she is due to start school. Every member of staff is always bright, cheerful, friendly and very helpful. They create a wonderful family atmosphere at the
nursery and I have loved seeing my daughter flourish during her time there. They have helped her to learn to write, and she has even learned some Spanish during her time there. She has made some great friends and loves her time there. I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough.

Great nursery, always felt very happy leaving my children there. My son has attended for 2 years and my daughter has recently started. My son is very confident and interacts well with others which a big part we put down to his time at nursery. He has learnt things he would never have done at home (such
as speaking Spanish). The car park is very tight so getting in and out at busy times can be a bit tricky but that is a small negative. Overall, have had a very positive experience with the nursery and staff who are generally all very friendly and diverse which is great.

Bright Horizons in Didsbury has exceeded all my expectations from a nursery and provided exemplary care of my son for the last 18 months. His development has been significant and I am delighted with his progress. The primary reason for my writing the review is to highlight the effort, care and love
that all the staff have shown our family and not just those who have looked after my son directly. He has made lots of friends and has become a curious, kind and confident little boy.

We had a really bad experience. From the settling in process, through to daily care. We found the staff to be disappointing. The baby room has no natural light. They say that they will respect your routine but not much effort is made to do this. Random naps, missing walks to get fresh air, basic care
sometimes lapse “because they’re busy”. After a month we chose to move nurseries.

Staff are excellent in Didsbury, refreshments for parents on arrival, happy place for the children, forms are in place for any conflict between the children and parents are made aware of the issues, this is extremely thorough and something which should be in place in schools to make parents aware of
bullying, the building is a good size with a variety of rooms for the children to play, the staff are consistent at Didsbury which shows the staff are happy to work there.

It is very professional, welcoming and very well managed. It is very clean and tidy and my child is so happy there. The daily forms aren't always fully completed, if I am picking up in a rush and don't have time to chat or they are busy, I don't always know what they have done in the day.

My daughter absolutely loved going to Bright Horizons Didsbury Branch. We never had a day when we needed to coax her to get there. She loved the teachers, food and activities which increased her self confidence during her time there.

My husband and I are very happy with Bright Horizons - the staff take a personal interest in my child and have gone out of their way to help him feel settled. My child has a lot of allergies and the team have been brilliant at managing these. They have taken the time to discuss his diet with me to gain
a better understanding of what he is able to eat. My child seems to really enjoy himself at Bright Horizons and loves the team!

The nursery has been amazing. It's like a family. The staff have been lovely - they make us feel at ease when we are at work. My children feel this is their second home. All the staff are professional and friendly and I would recommend Bright Horizons to any worried parent that wants to return back

Angelica

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Angelica has worked in childcare for over nine years, with eight of those years spent at Bright Horizons. She is qualified with an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, a Foundation Degree in Early Years Childhood Studies, a BA (Hons) in Early Years Leadership and Management, and is currently completing her dissertation for an MBA in Business Administration (Human Resources). Angelica loves working in the childcare sector and is committed to providing the best start in life for all children in their care. Providing high-quality care and education is her number one priority.


Originally from Venezuela, Angelica has been living in the UK for 11 years. She is married and has three beautiful children. Much of her weekends are filled with the children's clubs, walks, and family meals.

Ada

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Ada graduated from university in 2019 with a degree in Business and Management, and since then, she has been working in childcare—a field she has always been passionate about.


She finds great joy in watching children grow and develop, which led her to join Bright Horizons in 2022. Since then, she has had the opportunity to work in several of their nurseries, each offering unique experiences that have helped her develop new skills.


Ada holds a Level 3 qualification in childcare, as well as a Level 3 Early Years SENCO qualification, and she has recently begun pursuing a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She is deeply committed to providing children with high-quality education and diverse opportunities every day.
