A welcoming and 'Outstanding' rated Ofsted nursery in Didsbury.

The Didsbury Day Nursery and Preschool is situated just off Barlow Moor Road and is an ideal location for parents commuting to and from Manchester. Providing quality childcare and education, supporting every child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

Following a recent refurbishment, the nursery has excellent facilities and six qualified teachers working in the nursery. All age groups have access to the outdoors where the garden allows them to be outside on a daily basis. The nursery holds regular activities and events for families throughout the year, including an annual Graduation Ceremony for children leaving the nursery for ‘big School’.

All-inclusive fees mean that you have less to pack on a busy morning, with everything from healthy lunches and snacks to branded nappies and wipes included.

The nursery has been awarded an Ofsted rating of ‘Outstanding’ for their commitment to high quality childcare and education (February 2017).

The baby room has been excellent at supporting my son during his settling-in period. The staff are attentive, caring and ensure that my son is happy. The activities are age-appropriate and provide my son with experiences that he won't receive at home. He loves the baby staff and I know that he is safe

From the moment my son steps into his room, he is greeted with warm smiles which makes the whole dropping-off process so much easier.
He is happy all the time, the practitioners do such a wonderful job ensuring he is happy and well taken care of.
I feel reassured that he is safe and well looked after.

The settling process has been so enjoyable for both myself and my son. The staff in Baby 1 went above and beyond to make the transition very smooth. Since starting, I had loads of updates and lovely photos on the app which made me feel very reassured.
I couldn't recommend this nursery enough, I have
been so happy with all the team in the room as well as the management team who is also very supportive. My son has settled in really well and he is developing so well.

We have had a great experience with Bright Horizons Didsbury. They have taken excellent care of our child, with great communication of progress and issues. The facilities are excellent with plenty of activities to keep the children entertained and engaged. We’ve sadly had to leave due to relocation
but will be moving to another nursery within the Bright Horizons family based on our experience with Didsbury.

Great nursery - my almost 2-year-old has a great time for her two days a week here. All the staff are lovely and seem to genuinely care and enjoy spending time with the kids. Would definitely recommend.

My child has been going to Bright Horizons Didsbury from 10 months old and the staff have been fantastic from day one. The room is beautiful and I receive regular photos and updates of the ever-changing activities they participate in. I've noticed a big change in my child's development in a relatively

My little boy has been here for over a year and he loves it. The nursery is friendly and welcoming (especially baby 1 and baby 2). The care they give is fantastic, the setting is great with lovely outdoor space and the food they serve is excellent.
I would highly recommend the nursery. We love it so
much that my 10-week old child has been booked in for when I return to work.

The experience did not start well. We went to registration and were informed they only had 2 days available (Monday and Friday) and that they only were considering people for full days - no half days were offered. This seems extremely strange. Why offer half days at all, if you aren’t accepting people
who only need half days? So we had no choice but to agree. The month we had the nursery welcome walk-through (March), the next two months had 5 public holidays that all landed on Monday and Friday. Bright Horizons requires payment for all days, even days that land on public holidays and days they use for training or if your child doesn’t attend. Being that this would have been his first months, we didn’t feel it was fair to pay nearly £800/month when he only attends two days a week and because of these holidays, would miss 5 of those days. Do you think it is fair? No exceptions! So we decided to start in June.
During the short one month there my son was bitten 3 times. We don’t recommend.

My son started at Bright Horizons when he was nearly two years old. I was worried that he might not settle quickly given that he was a bit older, but the staff were so kind with him and he settled in very quickly. He has allergies so I worried about his food choices, but the staff have been careful
and considerate at every step. He eats a really wide variety of food and the chef makes him special dishes that are dairy-free. They even have his oat milk ready for him each morning, so he can have cereal with the other children. He loves going into nursery every day and he always talks about the staff in his room. He was even asking for his room leader when he was on holiday! I am so glad I picked Bright Horizons for him They really are a brilliant nursery.

Friendly staff. Transitions between rooms are well managed. The app is really useful to keep an eye on the little one during the day. Our little one is always happy to go in the morning and happy when we pick her up.

Our son started at Bright Horizons when he was 2.5 years old. I was concerned that being a late starter at nursery (and an only child), would have a negative impact on his personal and social skills, but the nursery and staff have been wonderful at helping him to settle in and flourish. The staff are
warm and caring and are supportive of all the children and any concerns the parents may have. I love that they have some outdoor space to run around in and the app is great for keeping parents and guardians updated with their child’s activities and schedule. It’s a great nursery and we’re hoping to increase our son’s number of days there, in the near future.

Our son has been attending for over a year now, starting in Baby Two and now in Toddler One. All the staff from his key worker to the nursery manager are invested in him and his journey. Every child is different and they treat each child as an individual and invest in their development. They work with
us, as his parents, on areas of further development and encouragement. My son's time so far at Bright Horizons Didsbury Day Nursery and Preschool has been full of fun and laughs. Seeing his face light up each morning and run into his room to meet his friends is heart warming and we know we’ve made the right decision choosing Bright Horizons Didsbury Day Nursery and Preschool.

Our children love attending Bright Horizons. All the staff know all the kids and they are kind, caring and I feel confident knowing they will come home happy every day. They think of all sorts of interesting activities for the children to take part in. We have loads of confidence in the management,
particularly the manager, who is amazing. They are super flexible and we’ve always been able to pick up an extra day if we need one on top of our regular pattern. They have a great app, where they share pictures and updates about the kids learning too. The children spend lots of time outside in their garden and they’ve recently planted flowers in wellies. If there’s one thing I’d make even better about the nursery it would be to make the outdoor space a bit less astroturf and a bit more mud-filled, but it’s a very minor complaint and I’d recommend it to anyone.

My son attends the nursery and is currently in the Toddler 2 room. He is very happy and I am happy with the care and education he receives. His key person is a qualified teacher, so I am assured he is learning lots in preparation for preschool. He has made lots of friends and I get regular updates on

My daughter attended Bright Horizons from age 1 through to pre-school. She has always been happy there making friends and loving the staff and all the activities. She came on so much at the pre-school even came home speaking Spanish. The food has always been excellent and my daughter eats a wide variety
of food. My son will be starting in February, I wouldn’t dream of sending him anywhere else.

I could not be happier with Bright Horizons Didsbury Day Nursery. My three-year-old was in one of the toddler rooms and is now in pre-school, and my baby is due to start soon. Quite aside from the high standard of the building and facilities (especially the outside space), Bright Horizons Didsbury is
noteworthy for its exceptional staff and management. Having experienced two other nurseries, I can safely say that this one stands out not only in terms of the levels of care provided but also the levels of professionalism. My child is thriving and happy in this environment, and I never have concerns about leaving him. It's worth noting that all staff that I have encountered across both rooms are excellent. The standard of learning and development is exceptional, and it is a real bonus to have a toddler who can now speak better Spanish than me. Communications are first rate and management are incredibly responsive. There are, of course, cheaper nurseries but Bright Horizons Didsbury is worth every penny and then some.

Angelica

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Angelica has worked in childcare for over nine years, with eight of those years spent at Bright Horizons. She is qualified with an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, a Foundation Degree in Early Years Childhood Studies, a BA (Hons) in Early Years Leadership and Management, and is currently completing her dissertation for an MBA in Business Administration (Human Resources). Angelica loves working in the childcare sector and is committed to providing the best start in life for all children in their care. Providing high-quality care and education is her number one priority.


Originally from Venezuela, Angelica has been living in the UK for 11 years. She is married and has three beautiful children. Much of her weekends are filled with the children's clubs, walks, and family meals.

Ada

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Ada graduated from university in 2019 with a degree in Business and Management, and since then, she has been working in childcare—a field she has always been passionate about.


She finds great joy in watching children grow and develop, which led her to join Bright Horizons in 2022. Since then, she has had the opportunity to work in several of their nurseries, each offering unique experiences that have helped her develop new skills.


Ada holds a Level 3 qualification in childcare, as well as a Level 3 Early Years SENCO qualification, and she has recently begun pursuing a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She is deeply committed to providing children with high-quality education and diverse opportunities every day.
