Situated in the heart of Blackrod, Partou Playdays Day Nursery and Pre-school is a triple Ofsted ‘outstanding’ rated setting (August 2019, October 2013, February 2011), providing exceptional care and education for babies and children up to the age of five.

Set within a beautifully refurbished grammar school building, the nursery has five bright and stimulating playrooms and fantastic outdoor spaces complete with mud kitchen, climbing tree, huge sandpit and an allotment.

Children at the setting also enjoy plenty of extra-curricular activities including music, dance and swimming lessons alongside the hugely popular forest school sessions and trips into the local community. Parents can keep track of their child’s activities and development using the nursery’s online learning journal.

Delicious, nutritious meals and snacks are freshly prepared in the nursery kitchen, providing children with a balanced diet bursting with fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and fish.

Absolutely fantastic nursery, amazing staff so friendly and helpful. Everything is so organised and it is a pleasure to send my son here as I know he is looked after so well by every staff member. Can’t fault the nursery in any area.

The ladies that run this nursery are absolutely incredible! So helpful and also my little boy absolutely loves them. It doesn’t matter if it’s 7:30am or 5:55pm you are always greeted with a smile. I would recommend to any parent looking for a nursery for their child.

My son has been at Playdays for over a year and the staff, room and outside space has had him beaming the biggest smile at pick up time every day. He has had the opportunity to attend swimming classes, forest school, dance classes and visits to local libraries, parks and churches. Outstanding nursery

The most positive and well ran nursery! I am so comfortable with every member of staff at Playdays. Their communication is amazing and I know my child is getting the very best here. My daughter's nursery has been amazing for her she’s grown to be an amazing little girl with the help of going here. Her vocabulary is perfect and the staff are amazing in every room she moves up to. I would always 100% recommend any child going here and I certainly will be sending my next baby here

I had to move my boys from their original nursery to Playdays when we moved to Blackrod in 2021. I was initially worried about how the boys would be settling into a new nursery but I needn’t have worried, Playdays have been amazing since day one and far surpass the previous nursery provision. This nursery
has gone above and beyond to ensure my children know they are loved, valued and cared for. My eldest son is now in reception and loves to come back to Playdays to pick his brother up and see everyone - he also loves the warm reception he gets! Forrest school is the highlight of the week for my son and because the staff know he loves it so much they have occasionally taken him more than once in the week - living his best life! My youngest goes to school this time and I will be really sad to see him leave however I am very grateful for all that Playdays have done to help grow my boy into a confident young man who, like his brother was, is more than ready to take on school life.

My experience with my child at the Nursery has been very good. My child is well looked after during their time at Nursery, the activities they do with the children is enabling my child to grow every day. An amazing nursery, the staff here go above and beyond for the children, the areas set out in the rooms are the best I have seen from viewing nurseries in my area. My little boy has been going here for around 14 months after his previous nursery closed down unexpectedly - whilst looking for an alternative nursery another parent mentioned Playdays - we wish we'd have known about it sooner as our child has flourished, we'll be sad to leave the nursery and fantastic
staff when he leaves soon for school but will always be grateful for our sons amazing time here, we can't recommend this place enough.

When we were searching for nurseries for our son, Playdays was the first and only place we looked. Firstly as it was so close to where we live but mainly because we had heard such lovely things from other parents. We had a walk around and met some of the staff and we fell in love with it. Trusting an
establishment to care for your baby is a big decision and we were instantly put at ease. We loved how much outside space and the facilities Playdays has and we knew our son would be happy there as he is very much an outdoorsy child. The different activities set out each day offered such a wide range to explore and use imagination and we were regularly updated via Learning Book and in person about his progress.
We really couldn't fault the level of care that our son received during his 2 years with Playdays and would highly recommend them.

Fantastic nursery. Both my son and daughter have attended. Drawn to the outdoor section which allows the children to be adventurous and explore some fantastic activities organised during and out of nursery hours. Staff are all lovely and welcoming and show a real interest in the children and their development.

Playdays have exceeded my expectations. It is always well organised despite the chaos many children can bring. It is always clean, despite all the messy play activities. The staff are always helpful, kind, gentle and approachable. I was initially nervous about leaving my little one under the care of
others, but I now feel relaxed knowing she's in safe hands. I really enjoy the opportunities that Playdays offer for parents to stay and play. I feel pampered on these days with all the refreshments and treats we get.

Since our daughter joined the Playdays, Blackpool family, she has come on leaps and bounds.
She has always been a confident little girl but her time at Playdays has seen her speech develop, her interaction with others came on and more importantly her ability to play and be creative soar. She is so

Our daughter started at Playdays just under a year ago, we can honestly say we are so pleased we chose it to be her nursery.


All of the staff genuinely care and have made a real effort to get to know our daughter properly; we haven't once felt like she is 'just another child'. We are updated regularly

on her development via the app, at handovers each day and have even had a parents' evening. The activities are imaginative and plentiful. Our daughter has been taken on walks around the village, numerous trips to the local park and to Haigh Hall since she joined. The weekly Moo Music classes are also a firm favourite. The facilities, particularly the recently renovated gardens are great. There is plenty of outside play and 'fresh air' time. The food is homemade, varied and nutritious with lots of fruit and vegetables.


Our daughter is happy to be at nursery and clearly enjoys her days there. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Playdays.

Fabulous nursery. All three of my children love/have loved spending their first years of life here. The staff are amazing and very professional. The food is excellent and always very nutritious. I swear my children eat well at home because they have always had a wide variety of flavours at nursery.
The outside space is fabulous. There is honestly no better feeling than knowing your children are being well looked after and are happy out of their home environment. Happy babies - happy mama! Thank you Playdays!

Wonderful nursery and pre-school. My little one has attended for over 2 years and he loves it. All the staff are brilliant, so caring and loving towards the children, and make them feel included. The activities they set up are excellent, the range and variation really keep him engaged. Anything from
painting and sand play to swimming lessons at the local pool. The building itself is lovely and well-kept and the outside space, which has just been re-done, is amazing, my little boy couldn't stop talking about it when he first went out there. They've helped to shape him into a confident, loving little boy and I couldn't recommend them enough.

The staff are fantastic. I feel my child is safe at the nursery and could not fault them. They keep me up to date on everything and anything that my child does. The menu they have is really good and lots of fresh fruit and vegetables used to make the menu well balanced. They have upgraded the garden
recently and what a beautiful garden it is. It's nice to see money being spent in the nursery to make it different and fun for the kids and they all love it. This is my second child to send to the nursery and there was no second choice, it was always going to be them.

Brilliant nursery and all staff care for my daughter like she's their own. She loves going to nursery now. When she started she lacked confidence but now is bursting with it. Cannot rate it enough.
