Nene Valley Day Nursery is a caring and nurturing nursery conveniently situated in the centre of Northampton and located inside the general hospital grounds.

It provides care for children from 3 months old – 5 years, with all children's rooms on the ground floor with direct access to their own garden.

This friendly nursery has a well established and highly qualified team of enthusiastic early years professionals providing extensive activities to spark each child’s curiosity to learn.

They are proud to have achieved the Green Flag award for their commitment to environmental projects. They also have an eco-committee and children's council to allow opportunities for children to freely express their voice.

*7am start is available at an additional cost to non NHS families. Standard opening time is 7.30am.

Brilliant nursery. My son joined Nene Valley preschool in August 2021 after moving to Northampton. I am amazed at how friendly the staff at Nene Valley is. He looks forward to coming every day. Love this place!

We absolutely love Nene Vally. Both our children attend and our eldest has gone from the Caterpillar Room through to pre-school and hers and our experience of all the staff in every room has been fantastic. All are extremely caring, welcoming, knowledgeable, and fun. My daughter has absolutely loved
her time here, really enjoys every day, and has grown into a strong, independent little girl and that's all thanks to all of the staff at Nere Valley! She is going to miss you.

Nene Valley Day Nursery has been the best place for my daughter, she always looked forward to going to school as she said she loved her teacher and talked about them every day. Our daughter got the opportunity to learn different things that made her thinking wide and helped her to always want to explore.

I could say so much about the nursery, how they have helped my daughter through her development, especially her speech and language and building her confidence. I cannot say enough to thank you as my daughter moved from barely two words at the age of three to a non-stop audible talker at two months

Nene Valley Day Nursery has been such a wonderful place for my child's learning and development. He never stops talking about all that he is learning and all the fun he is having. Children are very well supported to learn at their own pace and reports are regularly provided on progress. All the teachers

I believe this nursery is one of the best in Northampton. My child came to nursery with special education needs and disabilities (SENA). She has all the support and love she needs and she has now transitioned to the normal framework as she no longer meets the criteria of SENA. The staff is amazing.
They always have smiling faces and love my child as I do. They are professional and experienced in working with me to settle my child. The playroom is well equipped so she can make her own choice to play. She is extending her learning with a variety of exciting activities and events. My child is happy here all the time.

My son has been in nursery for a few months he has mobility issues however the nursery are so accommodating. I really couldn't be happier. The team are amazing. My son has dietary intolerance and I have never had any worries with his diet at nursery.

We are really pleased with our daughters progress her key worker is great at doing new activities to help her development. Her keyworker regularly keeps us updated with pictures and information on what our daughter has been doing at nursery through parent zone. It is so reassuring to know that our daughter

Since the minute I stepped into the nursery I instantly felt that it was the right place to get my daughter into. My daughter has been attending nursery since the beginning of January and she absolutely loves it. She got settled super quick and the carers in the nursery, everyone in the nursery really,
are all the most lovely people. Everything is always super clean and so welcoming, and all the staff are always the most helpful. Great place for little ones and the outside space is so lovely too.

My daughter started in the Caterpillar room at the beginning of January and the staff have been amazing. They have got to know her needs, which has helped to settle her and have been brilliant at keeping me up to date on how she is getting on in the room through parent zone and feedback at the end of

Nene valley is simply amazing! My son is always full of smiles, I have peace of mind knowing how happy he is and my daughter just left for school is flying thanks to their school readiness program! Thought-out the pandemic they have been fabulous ensuring safety and still finding fun! What is really
special is every member of staff put their heart into caring for my son which shines through how they personalised their care and how happy he is. The menu is second to none and they have a wide range of nutritional foods. They teach core values and communication is always up to date. For me most importantly it’s fun and my son is thriving. I want nothing but the best for my son and Nene valley is that hands down!

Our son has been attending Nene Valley since he was 9 months old, he's now approaching 3! I can honestly say the care he has received has been second to none. The staff are amazing, and I believe they genuinely care for the children, they are always on hand to answer my silly questions or put my mind
at ease when I've been worried about something. The nursery has such a lovely atmosphere, there is the right balance between learning and play. Having the Parent Zone app is a fantastic way of being kept up to date, and also sharing activities done outside of the nursery hours. I cannot recommend the nursery enough.

Jade Shillington

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2019

Jade is the Manager of Nene Valley Day Nursery and has a wealth of experience, having started in the early years sector at the age of 17 as an Apprentice. Jade completed her Level 3 in Childcare before having her own child, then went on to complete Level 3 and Level 5 in Leadership and Management. Jade started working for Childbase in 2019.


What is your favourite feature of your nursery?
I love how the nursery feels so warm and inviting; we have a great combination of fixed purpose, authentic and more natural resources In every room to really spark the children's curiosity and engage them in their learning and exploration.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
I absolutely love my team; they are dedicated, passionate and supportive of all our families and one another. Striving for outstanding care is at the forefront of everything we do.
