Nene Valley Day Nursery is a caring and nurturing nursery conveniently situated in the centre of Northampton and located inside the general hospital grounds.

It provides care for children from 3 months old – 5 years, with all children's rooms on the ground floor with direct access to their own garden.

This friendly nursery has a well established and highly qualified team of enthusiastic early years professionals providing extensive activities to spark each child’s curiosity to learn.

They are proud to have achieved the Green Flag award for their commitment to environmental projects. They also have an eco-committee and children's council to allow opportunities for children to freely express their voice.

*7am start is available at an additional cost to non NHS families. Standard opening time is 7.30am.

My son was transferred from another Childbase nursery and has settled very well. The staff we have met are doing amazing jobs but I must say my child's keyworker is amazing. I can tell my child gets along really well with her and vice versa. My child has also encouraged other children to open up even
more. My child has definitely grown into this nursery and we are super happy with everything. Thank you all for the work you do and for your amazing support.

The whole team from admin to key worker are welcoming and eased the start of nursery for my child (and me!) As a breastfeeding mum, the nursery have been very accommodating and supportive of this. They accurately record and update parents in person and via online and each member of the nursery team
knows our child and her needs well and are friendly and lovely to her and us. The food options are great and I love the baby singing.

The preschool staff are lovely. My son loves coming to preschool and is happy all the time. He has been coming to Nene Valley Day Nursery since he was 14 months. Been lovely seeing his development up to leaving for school.

Nene Valley Day Nursery has been a breath of fresh air. Our daughter has flourished here in such a short space of time. The staff have been incredibly helpful and understanding, even with our daughter's delayed speech and language.

I cannot praise the nursery enough. I truly feel that the caterpillar room is genuinely interested in my son and his development. The team are caring and polite, and my son gets excited as he walks into the room. His confidence has flourished, and he is doing so well with his learning, and this is completely
down to the fantastic care and support given by the staff. I could not recommend this nursery enough.

Sending a six-month-old to a daycare nursery is a parent's biggest worry, but having my son registered at Nene Valley Day Nursery was the best decision. The staff made all possible efforts to get him adjusted to the new environment and help him settle. He is very well looked after. He has flourished
in terms of learning and development. One member of staff has been his primary carer, and I must say my son loves her absolutely. She focuses on his day-to-day development and learning and coordinates with us on areas of development. The entire staff are excellent and goes beyond and above to make this place a second home for all children.

Our daughter started in the caterpillar's room and has just moved up to the ladybird's room. She loves coming to nursery and gets very excited to see all the staff. We have been very pleased with her development since she started nursery. They provide a variety of activities that help her learn and
keep her interested. We have also been happy with the variety and good nutrition of the food provided.

I couldn't have asked for a better nursery to send my son to. He has been here since he was one years old, and now he's about to leave for school! Every single person at Nene Valley has always gone above and beyond to ensure my son is firstly having as much fun as possible and mainly developing well
in all areas. I am sad that he will be leaving such a wonderful and caring setting, but I know his many hears here have helped shaped him into the cleave beautiful boy he is!

Jade Shillington

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2019

Jade is the Manager of Nene Valley Day Nursery and has a wealth of experience, having started in the early years sector at the age of 17 as an Apprentice. Jade completed her Level 3 in Childcare before having her own child, then went on to complete Level 3 and Level 5 in Leadership and Management. Jade started working for Childbase in 2019.


What is your favourite feature of your nursery?
I love how the nursery feels so warm and inviting; we have a great combination of fixed purpose, authentic and more natural resources In every room to really spark the children's curiosity and engage them in their learning and exploration.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
I absolutely love my team; they are dedicated, passionate and supportive of all our families and one another. Striving for outstanding care is at the forefront of everything we do.
