Nene Valley Day Nursery is a caring and nurturing nursery conveniently situated in the centre of Northampton and located inside the general hospital grounds.

It provides care for children from 3 months old – 5 years, with all children's rooms on the ground floor with direct access to their own garden.

This friendly nursery has a well established and highly qualified team of enthusiastic early years professionals providing extensive activities to spark each child’s curiosity to learn.

They are proud to have achieved the Green Flag award for their commitment to environmental projects. They also have an eco-committee and children's council to allow opportunities for children to freely express their voice.

*7am start is available at an additional cost to non NHS families. Standard opening time is 7.30am.

My daughter has attended this nursery for 3 years and has been brilliant since the beginning. Always making sure to have her needs attended to, from language to social to learning needs. Amazing staff that creates an amazing bond with the children and promotes their independence.

We are extremely grateful to Nene Valley Nursery for their excellent contribution towards my child's development. We couldn't have found a better place to trust and leave our daughter for the whole day, 5 days a week. We love the nursery and will miss it dearly when our child goes to school.

Our son has come on leaps and bounds since starting pre-school in April 2024. All the staff are amazing, getting to know our son as an individual.
He always talks about the fun, games and education he receives on a daily basis and the staff have helped his self-confidence.

The staff are very friendly and caring. It is a very nurturing environment, staff attend to the individual child's needs. My son has settled in very well and always comes running out with a big smile. You all prepared him really well for the transition. My son really improved in his social behaviour
towards his peers or anyone. I really appreciate the great support and developing/boosting my confidence in changing his behaviour (positively). Thank you once again.

Nene Valley Nursery is a lovely and trustworthy place to leave your baby.
My child is completely fascinated with all ladies that take care of her. She is so happy, which makes me feel really good. The manager and the rest of the carers are lovely and treat her really well, paying attention to all her

Our daughter has been coming to this nursery since last year. All I can say is, if you're looking for somewhere full of plenty of things for your children to do, whilst being in the safest hands, with great food, and staff that genuinely love their jobs - this nursery is the one.
My little girl's speech
has been coming along so well since she started here. The staff spend quality time with the children and get to know them. This isn't like other nurseries. The staff know all of the children's names and greet them with genuine excitement in the morning.
The children aren't just stuck indoors, they have beautiful garden spaces so they can play outside.
Our daughter has learnt so much whilst enjoying her time also. I love it, we both are really grateful to all of the staff. I couldn't praise this nursery enough.

The ladybird room at Nene Valley have really kept up to date with my toddlers changing obsessions. For each one, they have created something special for him to learn and play with - bear hunt corner, children's book character, aeroplanes in clouds and now a rabbit cartoon - they have even identified
some of his interests before I knew myself!
Each of the teachers are so lovely &and really make an effort to help with my child's development - he is growing into such a polite and happy boy - helped significantly by Nene Valley!

Jade

Jade Shillington

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2019

Jade is the Manager of Nene Valley Day Nursery and has a wealth of experience, having started in the early years sector at the age of 17 as an Apprentice. Jade completed her Level 3 in Childcare before having her own child, then went on to complete Level 3 and Level 5 in Leadership and Management. Jade started working for Childbase in 2019.


What is your favourite feature of your nursery?
I love how the nursery feels so warm and inviting; we have a great combination of fixed purpose, authentic and more natural resources In every room to really spark the children's curiosity and engage them in their learning and exploration.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
I absolutely love my team; they are dedicated, passionate and supportive of all our families and one another. Striving for outstanding care is at the forefront of everything we do.
