Bright Horizons Hinckley Day Nursery and Preschool provides high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The purpose-built, single-level nursery provides five separate rooms: a baby room, toddler room, two nurseries and Preschool. All the rooms are bright and airy with plenty of natural light and access to outside areas.

A beautifully refurbished adventure garden is divided into three play areas designed to support each particular age group. Each area provides lots of space for physical development and opportunities for children to develop an interest in nature and the world around them.

Experienced, qualified staff ensure the children are cared for throughout their nursery journey and 90% of staff are qualified to Level 3 or above and regularly trained. The nursery's own supply team cover staff holidays and sickness.

The nursery provides excellent opportunities for partnership with parents through parents' evenings, forums and regular 'stay and play' sessions. Policies and procedures are designed to give parents confidence in the safe and stimulating environment provided.

Their unique Healthy Hearts and Minds activities provide inspirational and engaging learning experiences using the innovative and well established Boogie Mites and myHappymind programmes.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

The nursery is within the catchment area of Richmond Primary School and other local schools that children progress to include Battling Brook Primary School.

The nursery was rated 'Good' by Ofsted in July 2022.

We've used Windmill for both our daughters and have been impressed with the quality of care they've received. Staff are all highly trained professionals who work tirelessly to provide creative learning experiences for the children. Our girls have both formed strong bonds with their key workers and we've
been happy that the staff care for them as if they were their own.

Windmill nursery has provided the most excellent care and starting foundations of learning for our daughter. The nursery and pre-school staff have gone beyond our expectations in the care and nurturing environment and presence they have provided.
Our daughter's confidence has grown and as parents,
it has been a delight seeing this. We can't thank Windmill enough for all they have done for us and we will miss them greatly.

Whilst it's not the cheapest, it's certainly the best.

Brilliant nursery. I cannot say anything negative about the care, support and standards that the nursery has provided for my son.
All the staff are fantastic. They have always worked together with us as parents to enable the best care and learning has been received by our son.
He has become a more
confident and independent individual. His learning has come on really well.
Thank you all for all your support. We will miss you all.
Keep up the good work.

Both my children have been to Windmill and have loved their time there. The staff are excellent and make sure every child is happy.
We couldn't have wished for a better nursery to prepare our children for school and leave them ready the next steps in their learning journey. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend
Windmill to other parents.

Our review was good. I was able to see pictures of my son's activities and look at development outcomes that my son work towards. I feel it could have been more structured and would have liked to have viewed the next room as stated on the invite, but overall, pleasant to reflect on my son's progress!
Thanks

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.463)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.463) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Hinckley Day Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.896 for Bright Horizons Hinckley Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (43 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.896
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.567 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Hinckley Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 104 number of registered child places is 20.8. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 20.8 = 0.192
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Assistant Manager

I have worked at Bright Horizons Hinckley since 1996 where during my time I have gradually worked my way from a nursery nurse to my current position of Assistant Manager.

Throughout these years I have worked with all age groups enjoying seeing how the children all develop differently and gain their own interests.

As part of my role, I enjoy not knowing what each day will bring, it's always a mystery! Above all, I enjoy seeing the children laugh and smile each day.
