The team at Woodville Nursery & Preschool understands that every child is unique, with their own experiences, interests and ways of learning. Their carefully designed spaces across two sites allow each child to learn in a manner and at a pace that suits them best. Children are encouraged daily to explore, question and imagine, helping them develop a genuine love of learning and a naturally curious mindset.

Woodville’s provision is spread across two dedicated settings. The Blacksmith’s Lane site offers year-round care for children from six weeks to five years old, while the newly opened preschool on Moira Road provides sessional care for children aged two and above. Across both locations, families benefit from a highly skilled team with extensive early years expertise, including practitioners trained in Forest School approaches.

Funding & Fees

Full day (7:30 am to 6:00 pm) from £74.25

We want to make life simple, so our fees include snacks and meals, cooked on site. For young babies, parents are requested to bring in their own formula milk.


Children with preschool sessional care receive snacks and have the flexibility to bring in their own lunch or pay an additional £3 for a nutritious packed lunch prepared by our chef.

This nursery is fantastic! My little boy loves coming here and is always able to experience some fantastic activities and experiences. The staff are incredible and very friendly and welcoming. They ensure you have a full handover each day and show genuine love towards the children.

Our son joined Woodville Day Nursery in May this year, he had been at nursery previously but in a different area. He settled so quickly, the staff were so welcoming and have helped with every query and question we had. He has had some amazing experiences over the last couple of months, including a beach
day with a visit from the ice cream man. Looking at him now he is a different boy and has already made so much progress, we can’t wait for his younger brother to start in September.

Our daughter started at Woodville in November and she has absolutely loved it. She started at 9-months-old and she has made so much progress since being there. The team are fantastic with not just our daughter but all of the children they look after. They are friendly, fun, sociable and show genuine
care in what they do. The app has been awesome to use and helps to keep up to date with what happens on the daily - the activities they do, with photos and write-ups and daily observations. It’s all been catered for here. There is nothing better than watching your little one grow, making friends, learning and doing - all with a smile. Woodville Day Nursery have really allowed her to do that since her first day.

We recently moved to the area from Tamworth. We had initially decided to keep our daughter in her previous nursery as she had been there since she was 6 months old, however, due to the commute, we decided to look for local nurseries.
We can hand on heart say it was the best decision we could have
made for our daughter. She is absolutely thriving at this nursery and she loves going. The nursery staff are so welcoming and caring with our daughter which is so reassuring! They genuinely care about her happiness and well-being.
The communication with parents is fantastic and we are able to speak to a member of staff with any questions easily.
We are so happy we made the decision to send our child to this nursery.

Having a child start full-time nursery during lockdown was so hard. But the staff at Woodville Day Nursery made it a home from home for my daughter. They provide such excellent care for the children and the regular updates throughout the day for a busy working mum makes everything worthwhile. Truly

My child has come home very happy and full of stories about his day! He is also smiling when dropped off to class and you can see in his face he has enjoyed his time when being collected. Fabulous setting! Every mother fears leaving their child with strangers, however, they didn't stay strangers for long. My son started at 6 months old and is still currently there at 2 years old. He is thriving and has learned more than I could teach him by being a stay home mum. I can't thank the ladies
enough for the care they show towards me and my child. My son absolutely loves going, so much so that I have to grab a kiss in the car park because as soon as he gets to the door he's off! Keep up the great work ladies.

My daughter has been attending this nursery since she was 8 months old (she is now 3 years old) and she has been in the baby room, baby 2, toddlers and now preschool. I can honestly say that she has loved every single day she goes (one day a week). She settled in well from day one and all the staff
have been amazing. I have no concerns sending her during this difficult time, COVID restrictions are in place and strictly followed by all staff. I have nothing but praise for this nursery, the management are really accommodating, the staff are caring and supportive and the icing on the cake is my daughter loves going. There is an app for daily communications and there are regular reports on how the children are getting on in each area of learning.

My son started going to Woodville Day Nursery when he was 16 months old. I was, of course, concerned about how he would settle in, having never been apart from me since he was born. I really needn’t have worried, as the staff were extremely supportive, kind and caring and my little boy soon settled
into the Baby Room and then progressed through to Toddlers and is now, 2.5 years later, in the Preschool Room before he goes off to Primary School in September. Throughout the duration of his time at Woodville Day Nursery, I have been impressed with the standard of care and education, the professionalism of the staff and the way it is run, particularly through the pandemic where the staff had to adapt quickly to this difficult circumstance. My son has loved his time there, has become a really sociable little boy and has learned so much. I feel that he’s had the best start in life and is more than ready for Primary School now. I would not hesitate to recommend Woodville Day Nursery to anyone.

Fabulous nursery! The managers are very accommodating. All the staff who I have had interactions with are warm and welcoming. Great communication via an app so you can keep up to date with observations. My son, who is in pre-school 1 really enjoys his time there and they do great activities. My daughter
is in baby 2 and although she cries every time I leave her (she’s very clingy), I feel at ease that the girls comfort her and by the time I get to the gate she’s stopped. Well managed nursery and I couldn’t recommend it enough. Feel very lucky that my children go here.

I placed my boy and girl (twins) at Woodville nursery a year ago and have been blown away by the support and professionalism of all the staff I’ve encountered. Not only am I a first-time mum, so basically a bag of worry. I became a single parent not long after the twins were 1 year old. The staff have
been supportive, answering my emails quickly, providing advice and guidance, flexible with sessions and just genuinely warm and friendly people. It’s taken the fear out of what was a stressful time and during COVID as well. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring for the most important people in my life so that I can work and provide the best start to theirs.

Both my children have been going since they were babies. We visited 5 nurseries in the area prior to choosing but straight away both I and my husband said Woodville just felt “right”. The staff in every room have always been amazing and my children (now 3 and 2) absolutely love going. They have accommodated
both my children’s allergies and cared for my son’s asthma with no problems. It means the world to me that whilst I am at work I am 100% confident that they are safe, truly being cared for, learning new skills, making friends and having fun. I would recommend Woodville Nursery to anyone with no reservations.

The staff in the baby room 1 made us feel very welcome despite COVID restrictions, I was able to do one settling in an hour in the room before my child started and this helped me and him feel reassured. We also did other settling in with him on his own and they looked after him so well. They constantly
update me through the day with things he does and I get a whole Diary at the end of the day with all he’s eaten, sleep times. They are flexible with him, saving him lunches and working with me as I start a job search. Highly recommend.

After joining Woodville nursery in the midst of the pandemic, I was apprehensive and worried about how my daughter would settle in, after not having much interaction with others. The staff at the nursery, especially the managers and the baby room staff, have been incredibly supportive. They have provided
excellent communication throughout, whether that be specific to my daughter or the wider goings-on of the nursery. My daughter took a few weeks to settle in but now can't wait to go in the morning and is very content when I pick her up in the evening. I couldn't recommend this nursery enough.

The best nursery. The staff are all friendly and approachable. Nothing is too much trouble. My little one loves going to nursery and learns so much. So many different activities. Amanda

Amanda Gadsby

Job Title: Senior Nursery Manager Joined: 2002

Amanda has worked for Woodville Nursery School for over 20 years. She started as a student while completing her BTEC in Early Years, and progressed through the years to Senior Nursery Manager. She also obtained her Level 5 in Leadership and Management.


Amanda has two children who both attend the nursery school. She enjoys all aspects of her role and strives to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children at the nursery.
