The team at Woodville Nursery & Preschool understands that every child is unique, with their own experiences, interests and ways of learning. Their carefully designed spaces across two sites allow each child to learn in a manner and at a pace that suits them best. Children are encouraged daily to explore, question and imagine, helping them develop a genuine love of learning and a naturally curious mindset.

Woodville’s provision is spread across two dedicated settings. The Blacksmith’s Lane site offers year-round care for children from six weeks to five years old, while the newly opened preschool on Moira Road provides sessional care for children aged two and above. Across both locations, families benefit from a highly skilled team with extensive early years expertise, including practitioners trained in Forest School approaches.

Funding & Fees

Full day (7:30 am to 6:00 pm) from £74.25

We want to make life simple, so our fees include snacks and meals, cooked on site. For young babies, parents are requested to bring in their own formula milk.


Children with preschool sessional care receive snacks and have the flexibility to bring in their own lunch or pay an additional £3 for a nutritious packed lunch prepared by our chef.

My son has been going here since last October and it has been amazing, they are so understanding and caring with my little boy and they encourage and support him. I honestly couldn't ask for better, so happy I chose this place for my son.

My son currently attends Woodville Nursery and is in pre-school. He transitioned from a different nursery last year and I could not have asked for it to be any easier/smoother. He has never shed a tear and has always been very excited to go to nursery each day and gives me a big smile and a wave when
he is dropped off along with a big smile when I pick him up. The staff are all fantastic, they are so friendly and always have time to give a full handover and answer any questions you have. There is a rotational menu of delicious home-cooked food that my little one enjoys every day. The management/office staff are all so helpful and on hand to sort any queries relating to hours, invoicing etc. The nursery is very clean and airy with great outside spaces that my little one loves, especially the weekly forest school sessions. I would highly recommend Woodville Day Nursery to any prospective parent.

Our son has started attending the school and needless to say, this has been the best decision we have made. He is so happy and the teachers are so loving and they put your mind at ease when you see them interacting with him. He has developed so much since he started and they are so attentive to all

My daughter had her first settling-in session with you on the 22nd of January 2024 making her just under 11 weeks old. With her being a newborn I was extremely nervous leaving my baby with strangers to both me and her for the very first time, even though I knew she would be absolutely fine which she
was, the care that she receives from room baby 1 is outstanding in my opinion, everyone is friendly when you go in and you can see children and happily playing, sleeping, having a snack or just lovingly being looked after by staff members which gave me so much comfort to know my baby was going to be ok. She is now 4 months old and coming on really well with her development she even gets included in seasonal tasks such as Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day which I thought was so kind to think of her to be included as she still has no idea what’s going on with regards to these days. The app also gives me peace of mind with regular updates. Overall my experience for me and her has been fantastic.

My son has been attending nursery for about 2 months now and is in Toddler 2. The nursery staff are excellent and they try as much as they are busy to give me daily updates about my son's interests and developments. Monthly they send an update about how my son has been done and how as a parent I can
help contribute to this. What I love about Woodville too is the balanced meals, many activities they have a lot of space indoors and outdoors for children to experiment and know their skills. Every morning my son is delighted to go to nursery and he comes back singing rhymes on our way back home.

I have two children at Woodville Nursery and they both love it there. My eldest transitioned there once we moved into the area and all the staff did a great job of helping him settle in. My youngest has been there since he was 5 months old and loves it! The setting is bright and airy and they have lots
of outdoor time, my eldest especially loves the forest school sessions. They are always doing a wide variety of activities. The care received from the staff is excellent and my children are thriving there. It is also a very well-run nursery. I have been very happy with the nursery and would recommend anyone to send their children there.

My child started in the Baby 1 room so has progressed through several rooms at the nursery already. Each room has its own dedicated staff, each of which couldn't care more about my child. From day 1 it's felt like he has a great relationship with everyone. He's always been quite a timid child, and nursery
has really increased his confidence, and it's amazing to see him coming out of his shell. I would recommend the nursery to anyone, absolutely the best in the area!

I had two children at Woodville Day Nursery and they were both extremely happy there. I interacted with lots of staff members during the several years my children were there, all staff were always very pleasant and polite, they seemed genuinely interested in the children. A few of the staff members
in particular were absolute gems. They followed my instructions regarding food choices, sleep times, potty training routines. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Woodville Day Nursery to anyone looking for a secure happy place for their child.

My daughter has been attending the nursery for 2 years now and is now in preschool 2. The nursery staff who have worked with her are always aware of her interests and try to plan activities to support this as well as now developing her learning by having specific targets on a regular basis. She has

Though my daughter has only been attending Woodville Nursery for three months her transition has been incredible, due to the care and attention of the amazing staff. We visited many nurseries in the area and surrounding areas but as soon as we entered Woodville, the nurturing culture and excitement
for learning was palpable!


My daughter engages in a variety of activities every day that inspire her love of language and creativity and she has made incredible progress already. Nursery educators are knowledgeable, and nurturing and have a clear passion for what they do! Their app communication is highly effective and the wonderful admin team are helpful and efficient.


We drop our daughter off knowing she will receive a balanced diet with plenty of variety and also the nappies, creams and skin protection she needs to be secure and happy in her environment.


We are so lucky to have secured a place at Woodville and we highly recommend this exceptional nursery!

I currently have my 2 1/2 year old in the toddler room and she has been at the nursery since she was a baby. All the staff are fantastic and my daughter absolutely loves coming. My daughters been going here for nearly two years, she absolutely loves it! We looked around various different nurseries when trying to find childcare for my daughter. Woodville Nursery School stood out a mile and I have been so pleased with our decision since May 2022. Both my daughters have loved their time here. All the staff have treated my children as individuals and have taken the time to care for and attend to their needs impeccably. The activities are always varied and communicated to parents through eylog so topics can be reinforced at home. My girls have
loved the food and have always been encouraged to try new foods. I feel safeguarding is taken very seriously so I have always felt assured that they are safe and happy while at nursery.
It's a nursery that goes above and beyond and is a great environment for preschoolers to get ready for school.

Excellent nursery. My daughter has been going since March 2022 when it was recommended by her health visitor and speech therapist. My daughter has autism and speech and language delay. Woodville Nursery School has been super helpful and supportive of all her needs and offers advice. All the staff are
friendly and dedicated to the children I couldn't recommend this nursery enough. My daughter loves going and often asks to go on the weekend. She loves the theme weeks and the forest school activities.

Choosing a nursery is an important task, especially as a first-time mum, but Woodville Day Nursery made it so easy. We felt comfortable from the very first phone call and tour around. The nursery facilities are brilliant and the staff are amazing. My daughter has thrived since being here and I'm so
happy I chose Woodville Day Nursery. She has freshly cooked meals daily and loves spending time outside playing with her friends and the staff. The staff are so caring and friendly, they are all experienced and have all been there a while which shows it's a nice place to be and work. My daughter always loves coming and I know she's in safe hands.

Amanda Gadsby

Job Title: Senior Nursery Manager Joined: 2002

Amanda has worked for Woodville Nursery School for over 20 years. She started as a student while completing her BTEC in Early Years, and progressed through the years to Senior Nursery Manager. She also obtained her Level 5 in Leadership and Management.


Amanda has two children who both attend the nursery school. She enjoys all aspects of her role and strives to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children at the nursery.
