The team at Woodville Nursery & Preschool understands that every child is unique, with their own experiences, interests and ways of learning. Their carefully designed spaces across two sites allow each child to learn in a manner and at a pace that suits them best. Children are encouraged daily to explore, question and imagine, helping them develop a genuine love of learning and a naturally curious mindset.

Woodville’s provision is spread across two dedicated settings. The Blacksmith’s Lane site offers year-round care for children from six weeks to five years old, while the newly opened preschool on Moira Road provides sessional care for children aged two and above. Across both locations, families benefit from a highly skilled team with extensive early years expertise, including practitioners trained in Forest School approaches.

Funding & Fees

Full day (7:30 am to 6:00 pm) from £74.25

We want to make life simple, so our fees include snacks and meals, cooked on site. For young babies, parents are requested to bring in their own formula milk.


Children with preschool sessional care receive snacks and have the flexibility to bring in their own lunch or pay an additional £3 for a nutritious packed lunch prepared by our chef.

My daughter has attended this nursery for the last 2 years, from the baby room to now the early years setting. I chose the nursery as it looked so clean and I instantly got a great vibe from all of the staff, I had always heard the children having a lovely time when playing in the garden.
My daughter
loves attending the nursery and I also feel very reassured she is in good care, they give me updates on their app and at the end of the day when I collect her. Their processes on who they allow into the nursery is robust and that also gives me confidence in leaving her in their care all day. Staff always get back to me quickly when I have a question or concern and my mind is put at ease very quickly.

My son only started at the nursery in September but has settled in amazingly well. He loves coming to nursery. The staff are all really lovely and caring and communication is fantastic. I love how my son has such a variety of meals at the nursery too.

We couldn't be happier with Woodville Nursery. Since our daughter started attending, we've seen such a huge improvement in her development. It's been amazing to watch how much she has grown and learned in such a supportive environment.


All of the staff are fantastic. It's very clear how much they genuinely

love what they do, and that passion really shows in the way they care for the children every day. They take the time to get to know each child individually and provide a real personal touch, which makes such a difference for both the children and the parents. We always feel reassured knowing our daughter is in such caring and capable hands.


I would highly recommend this nursery to any parent looking for a safe, supportive, and engaging place for their child.

Both of my children have been going to this nursery for over 2 years now and they are still excited to go every day. The staff know them both by name, know they are siblings and let them see eachother during the day. The managers even know who they are and ask about them and remember details. It feels
like they are included and thought about which is lovely. We get pictures of them doing all different activities every day and get along with all the staff really well.

All the staff have been so friendly and caring towards us and our child.
The sign in procedure makes me feel at ease about leaving my child with them and knowing that she is safe.
The staff are so friendly and have helped my child settle in so well . They have communicated very well and have reassured
me and gone above and beyond to make sure we have both made the transition as well as possible. We had issues with her eating to begin with and they have tried things and adapted to make her feel as comfortable as possible so shes now eating there. I know my little one is in amazing hands with all the staff in the room and she is so happy with them.
Her key worker and the room leader have eased my anxieties about leaving my child and we have seen her come along so much with her development since joining. I would recommend this nursery to everyone. Thank you for looking after our child so well and caring for her so much

I couldn't be happier with the care and support my son receives at this nursery. From the very beginning, the staff have been welcoming, kind, and genuinely invested in his development and happiness. It's such a comfort knowing he is in a safe, nurturing environment where he is encouraged to learn,

We couldn't be happier with our experience at Woodville over the last 4 years. From the very first day, the warmth, care, and professionalism of the staff have been outstanding. The environment is not only safe and nurturing but also rich with opportunities for learning and creativity.
Our child settled
in quickly to each room, thanks to the team's thoughtful approach to transitions. Each day is filled with purposeful play, engaging activities, and lots of outdoor exploration.
The staff communicate regularly and thoughtfully, keeping us informed and involved in our child's development. It's clear they genuinely care about each child and take the time to understand their individual needs and personalities; and my daughter has a BIG personality!
We are incredibly grateful for the strong foundation Woodville has provided our daughter. She is so ready for school thanks to the time her key workers have put in and I know she will miss you ALL so much.

My son has attended the nursery since he was 9 months old and is due to graduate this week. He has developed incredibly well during his time at the nursery and we have really felt that all of his key workers have known his strengths and areas for development. They have all shown a genuine care in our
sons growth and readiness for school! The communication has been fantastic and we are always made well aware of what he has been up to during the day; this is also supported with the use of their app! We are very sad that his journey has come to an end. We are so impressed with the nursery that our newest addition is already signed up.

My son has been attending the nursery 2x a week for a few months now, increasing hours in September. He has settled incredibly well. After the first two visits, he wanted to go in, asking to go to nursery when he is at home. Staff are very caring and communicative. When my son has been unwell I was
pleased with staff's response. There's a wide range of activities and I really like how a lot of the activities are based around books. We read lots at home, so it is nice to know this is also encouraged at nursery. My son particularly enjoys the outdoor area and the climbing frames/slides.
The meals are really good and nutritional balanced. We sampled some of them at the open day. My son often has seconds!
It is great that the nursery provide everything - nappies etc, which just puts your mind at ease. The nursery are currently doing lots to be eco friendly , such as recycling schemes and clothes swap. Really impressed so far and my son's social skills have improved loads already.

Our child attended here since he was 3 months old and he has left last week to go to school. We cannot thank the staff enough for the love and care that has been shown to him and us during this time. He had loads of experiences through the carefully planned activities laid out each day, the teaching
he received and the outdoor provision, especially through forest schools. Because of these, he has left nursery a confident, happy child who is ready for school life. A special mention goes to the SENCO as she has supported our child massively with his speech and regulating his emotions etc. She works hard to support families and she always goes that extra mile for the children. The managers make it their business to get to know each child and their families and always show that personal touch, making time to speak to you. They work endlessly to improve the quality of care they provide at nursery and they listen to parents views to make sure the children have the best start in life.

I am really happy with the nursery. My child has previously attended 3 other places and this one has finally fulfilled all our needs. It is a very good location with easy access and parking. The team is the best I have seen. All the staff is very prepared and my child loves them all. It feels like home
away from home. I feel relaxed and happy with my little one there. He loves the nursery so much that he gets his bag and goes to the door every morning excited to go to the nursery. They call us immediately every time something happens, the daily reports are very complete. The only point I think that still needs improvement is the menu. However, they have been improving and they respect the parents' requests. I would recommend this nursery to everyone. My child has developed so much with them.

My daughter joined the nursery in the summer of 2023 with Baby Room 2 and her transition was so smooth, she immediately bonded with her key worker at the time and all of the ladies in BR2. The care level is high, the reporting level is professional, the site facilities and in-house freshly cooked meals
all throughout the day are commendable and with our little girl now being in Toddler Room 1, she is blooming even further with amazingly creative and varied activities and a very caring team of key workers. We are so happy to be part of Woodville Nursery and feel safe in the knowledge that our daughter's preschool needs are being met.

Amanda has worked for Woodville Nursery School for over 20 years. She started as a student while completing her BTEC in Early Years, and progressed through the years to Senior Nursery Manager. She also obtained her Level 5 in Leadership and Management.
