My daughter has attended children 1st for three years now and has always been very happy there. The set up is brilliant with so much for the children to do, they move to another room every six months and each move means more variation of learning, and each a step towards school. My daughter has dietary requirements and they have been fantastic, helping me to understand her intolerances by informing me of reactions and changing her diet my my request. I receive instant feedback every day but also have the parent app and receive lovely updates, photos and videos, showing me what they have been doing. As well as indoor and outdoor play they have a wooded area, building dens and learning about nature. I visited the nursery when I was searching for child care, three of my friends recommended it and it was by far my favourite after visiting. The staff are lovely so I've always felt confident that my child is safe and happy. The only feedback I have is, they could wipe noses more often.
We have recommended to friends who have now registered their child. We love the nursery and our child loves it too.
I am so happy I chose this nursery for my son and he loves going to nursery now.
Amazing nursery, both children have attended and can honestly say the staff are attentive to their individual needs in learning. They helped my son become more confident and enabled him to discover a deeper love of reading. My daughter has had a first-class experience of developing her language skills since joining. Would highly recommend.
I have had two other children attend St Peter and St Paul Children 1st and I can not recommend them highly enough. My third daughter now attends and she loves it. Her confidence has grown, she has formed friendships and she loves attending nursery. The facilities and staff are amazing.
We absolutely love this nursery. It’s extremely well equipped and there are so many amazing toys and activities to keep them entertained and learning through play. The logs are useful and it’s lovely getting a little notification about your baby when you’re at work. Our key worker is amazing but all the team there are brilliant and our little girl loves them all. I think she prefers nursery to home!
A superb nursery location, purpose built with everything you could wish for your child. An array of activities and qualified staff in many sectors. Additional activities and language for the children to be involved in such as funky feet, forestry activities and French. The meals provided are sufficient but feel these could be developed further to reflect the price of the setting as it is very expensive but I wouldn’t put my child anywhere else so is justified to me. Seemless transitions between rooms and my child has enjoyed every day at nursery and we will be sad to leave for school in September. I would highly recommend this nursery and the management team are outstanding.
He has always received the very best quality of care and it makes the whole experience of being a full time working mum so much easier. He is a forward and active child and I really feel that his needs are met at all times. He loves to come to nursery every day and has had such lovely relationships with all of his keyworkers and other staff.
I would not hesitate to recommend Children 1st to any parent considering where to place their child.
Fantastic facilities and great staff who tirelessly combine education and entertainment for my son. Activities are innovative and regularly varied. Communication with my wife and I is excellent and they have been a great help with potty training in recent months. We are extremely grateful for the smiles they put on our child’s face and we couldn’t recommend this nursery more strongly.
Great staff and variety of activities. My daughter loves her nursery days. Excellent routines and learning opportunities which helps with home routines.
The staff at St Peter and St Paul work tirelessly to create a safe and welcoming environment for children that attend the nursery. They are dedicated to the cause and have the interests of the children at heart, allowing my husband and I to rest easy knowing that our child is in good hands. The facilities are well kept and areas are regularly updated to keep the children engaged, assisting them in developing new skills and gaining their independence - our daughter loves going to nursery and has learnt so much there, she can’t wait to tell us all about her day in the evening. I would highly recommend.
Extremely professional. A warm and friendly environment in which my child feels safe and comfortable in. Staff are brilliant.
Children have outstanding facilities and get to take part in activities that do not take place in other nurseries in the area - DT, woods visits, chicks hatching, baking and more. My son loves to come to nursery, which is a relief when you work full time.
He tries lots of different foods and is generally looked after very well. With the learning plans, we know exactly where he is and gives us pointers to look for and help his development at home too.
I would highly recommend St Peter and St Paul Nursery - my husband and I have been thoroughly impressed with the nursery; the members of staff are all lovely and caring towards the children, the activities/structure of the day are perfectly set for particular age groups and the extracurricular options are fantastic. Everything is well communicated to parents using an app too. Also, the sizes of the classes/rooms are perfect as not too many to each class and the activities are pitched correctly to that particular age range. I also like the fact that the nursery utilises the woods (when the children get older) and also encourage a lot of outdoor play, whatever the weather, for all ages (children get a lot of fresh air).
My children started coming to St Peter and St Paul’s nursery in September 2019 and it was the best thing I could have done for them. I am so grateful for finding this nursery for my children. The staff are so caring and nurturing towards the children. The outdoor space and access to the woods are amazing, my children love it. I couldn’t recommend the nursery enough.
Our son is so relaxed at nursery now, there is no hesitation from him when I drop him off and he is always happy at pick up. He has had two three hour naps this week which shows how comfortable he is there! This is all credit to the girls who look after him. You can tell they genuinely care about the children in their care. His motor skills and confidence are increasing week by week.
My little boy has attended this nursery for the last year since he was 9-months-old. All of the staff we have come into contact with have been helpful and welcoming. We were nervous initially and they made us feel at ease and were happy to answer any questions, and give us reassurance in the early days until he settled. The settling in days were helpful. The staff managed his transition between rooms really well and went at his pace, keeping us informed. I love the updates and observations on the app and found the parents' evening really useful to understand how he is developing and progressing. He loves nursery and always seems to have such a fun good time when there!! Initially, the staff respected his routine and enabled him to fit into the class’ routine when he was ready to move him. I would highly recommend.
My son has attended this nursery for a number of years now for four days a week, and every day he is still as excited to be going to nursery as the first. We are always greeted at the door by the management and receptionist by name and there is always something, as a parent/family, to get involved with. Special person day, grandparents day, summer fayre the list is endless. It's so nice for our whole family to have an insight into his nursery life. The relationships he has made in the past three years have been amazing to see with not only the staff (that I can't thank enough) but with his little friends too. I would recommend this nursery to anyone that is wanting to take their child to a nursery that is above the rest, has a lot of love to give and genuinely cares about your child's individual needs and you as a family. I will be very sad when September comes around and he goes off to school but I know he will be more than prepared and that's mainly down to St Peter & St Paul's.
Since the very first days, we felt comfortable and we could appreciate our little one's enthusiasm and progresses. Our baby is so happy when she goes to nursery and this is very reassuring in particular when we know she'll be there for several hours during the day. The staff are great, they really care about every baby and toddler, they are very proactive and supportive in understanding babies' needs, always sharing babies' progresses and involving parents. When you go to Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul you just feel a fantastic atmosphere which makes you think "That's the right place for my little one!".

Meet the Team (2)

Hello, my name is Lisa Phillpot and I joined Children 1st in 2010.
I started my journey as a newly qualified Nursery Educator and progressed through senior positions, becoming Deputy Manager with the Over 2’s, and now Manager of the Baby Suite for the Under 2’s.
I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education, which I’m really proud of.
I love watching the children develop into little people and knowing that we’ve helped shape their personalities. I also enjoy supporting and developing my team, helping to build a new generation of confident, passionate nursery educators.
I am especially passionate about supporting our families and creating a safe, nurturing environment where our children can learn, grow, and develop new skills.

Hello, my name is Natalie Fern and I joined Children 1st in 2009. I started as a newly qualified practitioner and over the years worked my way up to a Senior role, then Deputy Manager, Early Years Lead, and have now been Nursery Manager for the past three years.
I’m proud to hold a BA Honours Degree in Early Years Education.
What I enjoy most about my role is supporting our children and families as they grow and develop, while also seeing how the nursery team continues to support and lift one another.
I’m passionate about creating a safe, positive, and engaging environment where both children and staff can learn, thrive, and reach their full potential.
