Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls is situated adjacent to St Peter & St Paul Independent School, providing a link that ensures an easy transition to the school environment.

The nursery has been refurbished throughout with bright, open areas for babies, toddlers, early years and out-of-school children, aged up to 12-years-old. Children are encouraged to choose their own activity with a huge variety of options indoors and outside. Outside there is a garden with carefully chosen, age-specific equipment.

Children enjoy nutritious, healthy meals, freshly prepared by in-house cooks.

Staff to children ratios are better than Ofsted recommend and the nursery also offers funded places for eligible 2, 3 and 4 year olds.

My son loves his days at nursery. He always comes home happy, he is always happy when he is dropped off. We love the environment and the structure of the learning our son is given. He had developed a close bond with his key worker. The only downside is one of our son's days is a Monday so 8 days a year
(bank holidays) we still have to pay despite the fact nursery is closed.

My daughter is extremely happy which is the most important thing to us. She enjoys the activities, variety and educational elements in her day. Her social skills and manners are brilliant and she has formed so very strong friendship groups. All of this, in a large part, is due to the support and encouragement

Brilliant nursery. We visited 7-8 different nurseries prior to choosing Children 1st @ St Peter and St Paul. Really glad we did. The staff are fantastic and do a brilliant job of educating, feeding, changing, napping etc. They really do a great job and I cannot thank them enough for their hard work
in such a challenging role.
They have an app which lets you see photos and stories of what the little ones have been up to all day.
Communication is great (SMS and letters).

Our little boy loves nursery. He is always greeted by a member of staff and enjoys a cuddle with them. He seems to settle into his daily routine quickly. He is always happy when I pick him up.

My little girl loves going to nursery. Even though she dislikes getting up in a morning, if I say it’s for nursery she jumps out of bed. All the staff are really caring and know my daughter by name. The activities that she takes part in at nursery are varied and enriching, from learning letter sounds,
to knowing words in Spanish to experiencing how to use a hammer and nail. My daughter particularly enjoys using the outside area which is a fantastic resource at the nursery. Overall, it is worth every penny and I can feel happy that my little girl is away from me, safe, happy and learning so much.

After visiting another nursery in the area, I was horrified by how it was being run and did not feel comfortable leaving my child there.
After a few friends had recommended Children's 1st @ St Peter & St Paul. We went to look around and had a fabulous tour of the baby suite right through to preschool.
My son has attended since he was 19 months old and I am really happy with the service from every single member of staff we have dealt with along the way!

It's a hard decision finding the right nursery for the most precious little one in your life. I looked around lots of nurseries but when I came to Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul I felt instantly that it was the right nursery for us. Although a big nursery, the children are sectioned off into little
groups of activities. Even in early years, they seem to have a really good adult to child ratio and that's what I really liked. There is always someone on reception to greet you, the key workers of the children really get to know your child and I like that too. Recently I dropped my son off late and I was amazed at what the classes were doing, I knew they did these things but I'd never seen it first hand before. They were baking cookies, crafting, in the garden, reading and doing musical instruments in their groups. It was fantastic to see. Every child seemed happy, engaged and very settled. I highly recommend Childre 1st @ St Peter & St Paul. Our son has been very happy here and has learnt so much.

I am very happy with the nursery and its facilities. The staff are amazing and very caring. My little boy took a long time to settle in and they were all very patient and caring with him. The only negatives are the waiting list times and the high cost.

My 4-year-old daughter has been going to this nursery since she was 5 months old and I am extremely happy with her progress. I get numerous amount of compliments and people asking which nursery she goes to! I have my 1-year-old daughter currently in the baby room too and she loves it. It's such a lovely
feeling going to work knowing your children are being looked after with 100% dedication.

My son has attended the nursery since January 2015 and has progressed from Baby Suite all through to Early Years.
Staff on every level are professional, friendly, helpful and caring and we have developed special relationships with all of his key workers and communication and feedback is always excellent.
Our
nursery journey is coming to and end as we will start full-time school this September - I am confident that we made the right choice of nursery at Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul and am thankful to the team for their role in my son's development. The Early Years Team offer an excellent learning base that is preparing us for our transition into primary school brilliantly.

Excellent nursery. My daughter has attended here for over two years. The team there feel like family now. I know that I am always leaving her in great hands. The staff there are second mums, teachers and friends combined. We will be sad to leave in September when my daughter starts school. Family and
friends comment on the development of my daughter and it is down to the hard work and support of the staff at Children's 1st @St Peter and St Paul nursery.

Hello, my name is Lisa Phillpot and I joined Children 1st in 2010.


I started my journey as a newly qualified Nursery Educator and progressed through senior positions, becoming Deputy Manager with the Over 2’s, and now Manager of the Baby Suite for the Under 2’s.


I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education, which I’m really proud of.


I love watching the children develop into little people and knowing that we’ve helped shape their personalities. I also enjoy supporting and developing my team, helping to build a new generation of confident, passionate nursery educators.


I am especially passionate about supporting our families and creating a safe, nurturing environment where our children can learn, grow, and develop new skills.

Hello, my name is Natalie Fern and I joined Children 1st in 2009. I started as a newly qualified practitioner and over the years worked my way up to a Senior role, then Deputy Manager, Early Years Lead, and have now been Nursery Manager for the past three years.


I’m proud to hold a BA Honours Degree in Early Years Education.


What I enjoy most about my role is supporting our children and families as they grow and develop, while also seeing how the nursery team continues to support and lift one another.


I’m passionate about creating a safe, positive, and engaging environment where both children and staff can learn, thrive, and reach their full potential.
