My daughter joined Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul aged 2 and from the beginning, the team were fantastic at welcoming her into nursery and making sure that she was fully taken care of. Throughout her time in nursery, she has learnt so much, both educationally and personally which has contributed
to her development. The staff were always attentive, friendly, and approachable and dealt with any concerns that I had quickly and professionally.
The facilities and outdoor space that the children have access to are amazing, with different sections set up for all types of play. My daughter enjoyed the woodland area where she could safely explore nature. I was very impressed with the resources the children had access to and the activities they took part in. A lot of thought, time and effort has been put into ensuring every child’s needs and likes are catered for. I found the range of food the children had access to was great and always enjoyed by my daughter. I am extremely satisfied.

Both my children have grown so much in confidence whilst attending Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul. From their first words, they have come home chatting happily about their key workers and what they’ve been doing. The activities are always enriching, developing their different schemas. This was especially
obvious in the pre-school room where my son followed the foundation stage curriculum and jolly phonics programme closely, preparing him well for starting school. He absolutely loved forest schools; the outside spaces, in general, are incredibly well resourced and it definitely decreases the Mum guilt when I’m stuck indoors at work but I know they’re getting plenty of fresh air.

This is such a lovely nursery. My son is very happy there. The staff are super attentive and welcoming and I feel like he gets to learn and do so many enriching activities every day. He is always happy to go to nursery. I enjoy the communication from his key worker via the app and love receiving little
updates on what he's up to. The facility is also really big with lots of varied areas both indoors and out. We looked at other nurseries and even though this one was further from home, it was a no brainer for us to send our son here.

Our son has really enjoyed nursery and has made lots of friends and great relationships with his key workers. His development since attending was instant and he is learning new things all the time from education to healthy eating and hygiene. He enjoys it so much that although moving house much further
away we still want to bring him here. The app updates are great to keep parents informed, it's a shame they stop in the older groups. Hopefully, between nursery and school, the driveway will get resurfaced soon as the potholes have gotten huge lately. But if this is one of the few, minor negatives about a childcare service then I think that's pretty good!

Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul Day Nursery are helping me to give my son the best start to life. His key workers are incredible and really understand my son and care for him like family. His days are so busy and fun-filled, which has been incredible on his development. The levels of communication
are fantastic - staff are never too busy to chat with you and I’m regularly informed via messages and photos of what my son has been up to. He genuinely loves going and I really couldn’t ask for any more than that.

Amazing nursery! My daughter has been attending this nursery for the last six months - from the age of 2 and a 1/2. The staff are very friendly, approachable and knowledgeable, this includes both management, administrative staff and nursery practitioners. I am always kept up to date with how my daughter
has been during the day which is very helpful. In terms of my daughter’s development, there are plenty of opportunities to develop her skills with an excellent range of child-focused activities combined with a large outdoor area. I would definitely recommend this nursery!

My 6-year-old went to this nursery and he still misses it! So there was really no other place I would have chosen to send my second baby boy. The setting is brilliant, the rooms bright and cheerful, the range of activities are excellent and the staff are all the same faces as were here six years ago,
which says a lot! My second little man started here at 10-months-old and settled in very quickly, very few tears at drop off, if any, so I know he’s happy enough when not with his mummy. It really is the best nursery we could hope for where our children are engaged, cared for and have a great time.

I would highly recommend St Peter & St Paul. The care my son has received from their wonderful staff has been first class. They have been nothing but encouraging, positive, attentive and supportive. I truly feel comfortable, and I am reassured he is getting the utmost attention and best care. The photo
updates, detailed term reports, and daily diary entries are a personal touch, so we are updated with what he has been up to. You can sincerely tell the staff here care about the children, and my son loves going to nursery!

Both of our children absolutely love going to nursery! They have brilliant connections with the staff and seem to really enjoy the varied activities. They come home clean, well-fed and well cared for. The hours are great for two working parents and the staff make every effort to accommodate some flexibility.

I can not recommed Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul enough. My daughter started at two years old and went through until going to school. All the staff are absolutely fantastic, can't praise them enough. They really do go above and beyond. I have no worries about my child being in their care; they are
amazing. The activities my child has done are fantastic, so varied and different (going to the woods). My child has learnt so much, and this is all thanks to Children 1st. I love knowing my child is having fun and learning as well. My daughter will miss this nursery. Can't thank them enough for giving her such a great start in education. I have booked my baby in ready for going back to work, and I'm sure he will love them just as much.

Fantastic nursery - the staff are just incredible - a very special team. Both my children have attended since 10 months old to starting school - it has always felt safe, welcoming and a very happy environment. My only issue ever has been understanding my invoices - since day one trying to work out my
bills has been impossible - not ever have they been 'wrong' but I just cannot decipher. Especially when 30-hours free started - this could be more transparent and simplified for parents.

A fantastic nursery! My daughter has been here since she was nine months old and will be sad to leave as she is starting school this year. All of the staff are absolutely brilliant and go above and beyond for the children. My daughter often comes home with French braids in her hair that the staff have
done in the "salon" as my daughter has asked for this, just amazing.
The food is home cooked and has a variety. My favourite thing about this nursery is the opportunity for outdoor play and learning, they go into the forest regularly and even in the baby suite they can sleep outside in the fresh air. I wouldn't send my daughter anywhere else.

We made the decision of our son's nursery very carefully and have been so pleased with our choice ever since he has been at Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul. Our son absolutely loves going to nursery and his development has come on leaps and bounds because of the nursery's investment in him. It seems
like a real family atmosphere and all the staff are cheery and approachable. Would recommend the nursery without hesitation!

My son has attended his nursery since he was nine months old to present, he is three and a half years old now. In this time he has always shown good signs of development and is always extremely excited to get up and go to nursery two long days per week. I selected this nursery initially as it always
has happy and smiley staff and the facilities and learning opportunities are great. I couldn’t have wished for a nicer nursery for my little boy and would recommend it to everyone in the future.

We have been at Children 1st @ St Peter’s & St Paul’s nursery since September 2020. My little on started in the baby suite, staff there were fantastic, very observant and helpful. We have since moved down to the main nursery and I can honestly say that my little one has developed and learnt so much.
They have been so helpful with potty training and support throughout the pandemic too. A truly fantastic nursery, with very attentive and caring staff. Overall, a great place to put your little one!

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.997)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.997) out of 10 for Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.991 for Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls is calculated as follows: ( (107 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.991
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.006 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 147 number of registered child places is 29.4. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 29.4 = 0.306
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
