Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls is situated adjacent to St Peter & St Paul Independent School, providing a link that ensures an easy transition to the school environment.

The nursery has been refurbished throughout with bright, open areas for babies, toddlers, early years and out-of-school children, aged up to 12-years-old. Children are encouraged to choose their own activity with a huge variety of options indoors and outside. Outside there is a garden with carefully chosen, age-specific equipment.

Children enjoy nutritious, healthy meals, freshly prepared by in-house cooks.

My daughter has attended the nursery Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul for nearly two years now and it has been absolutely brilliant. From the first time we went to look round the staff were fantastic, friendly and most importantly treated my daughter as an individual, showing her just as much if not
more attention than me. She has become a well rounded little girl, who loves to learn, play with her friends and be outside. She has grown in confidence since attending and loves going to nursery.
The staff know every child by name and seem to take great pride in their relationships with them. I cannot fault them and would recommend any friend or family member to send their little ones. I know she is safe, cared for, excellently fed and most of all happy. Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do.

I felt nervous about my one year old starting nursery but within just a few short weeks he has settled in really well. His key worker is fantastic, getting to know him and giving him lots of cuddles so he feels happy going into nursery. It’s great to see pictures of how he’s progressing. The activities
are lovely and plans are made to help him achieve his next steps. The baby room and garden are well equipped, clean and tidy with lots to keep him stimulated. Very happy with the nursery and would highly recommend.

The staff and facilities at Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul are excellent. All staff have a great relationship with the children. This is reflected with how happy all the children are when they arrive in the morning and when picked up in the evening. They have also handled the changes that Covid-19
has thrown at them remarkably. Excellent nursery that I have recommended to many friends.

What a lovely nursery, from the day I went to visit it. They were so reassuring since the second day that I dropped my baby off. I was crying and they sent me pictures within five minutes of my baby smiling. His main carer is the sweetest person, she is so lovely and caring. My baby has developed so
much since being there. Best decision ever.

Choosing a nursery during a pandemic initially felt a real challenge! We viewed another nursery before visiting Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul and gosh, the difference was clear. From initially enquiring about the nursery and receiving a fantastic virtual tour due to lockdown and to attending settling
in visits, the level of thought, care and attention to detail was apparent. Our now fifteen month old son has attended this nursery for six months for three days per week and we can't rave about it enough. Each morning we're greeted with warm, welcoming smiles and staff encouraging our son in, referring to him by name, which they've done from his first day. When collecting him we hear excitable stories of what he's been up to, eaten and naps he has taken. We look forward to reading his daily diary and seeing his observations and 'next development steps' on the app. His meals and snacks are nutritious, his activities are varied and the care he receives is truly second to none. An all round exceptional nursery!

My daughter returned to nursery in August after being off since March due to the global pandemic. The staff have done an incredible job in welcoming her back and ensuring it was a smooth transition to a new room and key worker ensuring a familiar face was in the room. The nursery has quickly adapted
to the new normal of bubbles and the way you collect your child and ensuring the child doesn’t notice any difference to there time at nursery. It’s a fabulous nursery with a lovely team of staff who deliver excellent care and leave you feeling comfortable that your child is going to be loved and cared for during the day whilst you work. I honestly cannot recommend enough from fabulous facilities to diverse mealtime options.

Great facilities, lovely rooms. Mostly a nice atmosphere. Have raved about the nursery since 2017. Recently not quite as impressed but with a big change in staff, hoping once everyone is settled that the standard will return to normal.
Paying for days that the nursery isn’t even open has always been
a major issue to me, me and my husband still have to work, so along with paying for two children to attend nursery all day that isn’t open we also have to pay alternative childcare. A kick in the teeth for working parents who need usual nursery days to be Mondays and/or Fridays (when bank holidays fall).

My son has been coming to St Peter & St Paul from being 10 months old and our experience here as a family has been outstanding. All staff are loving and caring and will greet you in a morning with a warm welcome, making it easy to leave your little one with them. He is now three and bounces into nursery
every morning ready for a fun, exciting day. From bear hunts in the woods, creative activities, baking buns to puppet shows in the garden just to name a few. My son’s speech has come on in leaps and bounds, from counting to high numbers, knowing his alphabet, the day of the week to just telling me about his friends at nursery. As my son comes full time, credit has to go to the amazing staff. The management team are always there to offer support and a helping hand too. I wouldn’t recommend any other nursery.

A lovely, caring nursery. The staff are always helpful, smiling, take time to talk to you about your child and after a couple of initial weeks, my grandson bonded so well with his nursery nurse. Ten weeks later he’s crying when he has to go home. A sure sign that he’s feeling happy and confident. Thank

I was so worried about sending my little girl to nursery but St Peter and St Paul‘s have been absolutely amazing. The settling in sessions were brilliant and the staff take so much care and attention to your child’s individual needs. My little girl really enjoys going and always waves and has a big
smile for her key worker. I really have been so impressed with the setup and everything they do at St Peter & St Paul‘s, they’ve really made me feel so much happier about my little girl going to nursery! Thank you.

My son has been going to this nursery for just over a year now and the support he and I have both received has been second to none. When he first started he was nervous and cried when I dropped him off, this soon stopped thanks to the loving care he was given, now he doesn't want to come home when I
pick him up. Since starting he has learnt so many new skills and has gained so much confidence. The teachers provide so many varied activities and my son loves them all. The communication between key workers seems to be fantastic, so even if my son's key worker is away, there is always someone else that completely understands my son and so his needs are always met. All of the key workers are so kind and very close to the children, my son talks highly of them all. Overall this is a fantastic nursery with devoted staff, a wide range of engaging activities for the children, very clean and my son loves the food. I feel very lucky that my son goes to this nursery.

My daughter has attended children 1st for three years now and has always been very happy there. The set up is brilliant with so much for the children to do, they move to another room every six months and each move means more variation of learning, and each a step towards school. My daughter has dietary
requirements and they have been fantastic, helping me to understand her intolerances by informing me of reactions and changing her diet my my request. I receive instant feedback every day but also have the parent app and receive lovely updates, photos and videos, showing me what they have been doing. As well as indoor and outdoor play they have a wooded area, building dens and learning about nature. I visited the nursery when I was searching for child care, three of my friends recommended it and it was by far my favourite after visiting. The staff are lovely so I've always felt confident that my child is safe and happy. The only feedback I have is, they could wipe noses more often.

I am extremely thankful for the care and support the staff at St Peter and Paul’s nursery has given to me and my son. They are absolutely amazing in caring for my son's emotional well being and are amazing at helping my son to develop his personality and behaviour.
I am so happy I chose this nursery
for my son and he loves going to nursery now.

Amazing nursery, both children have attended and can honestly say the staff are attentive to their individual needs in learning. They helped my son become more confident and enabled him to discover a deeper love of reading. My daughter has had a first-class experience of developing her language skills

We absolutely love this nursery. It’s extremely well equipped and there are so many amazing toys and activities to keep them entertained and learning through play. The logs are useful and it’s lovely getting a little notification about your baby when you’re at work. Our key worker is amazing but all
the team there are brilliant and our little girl loves them all. I think she prefers nursery to home!

I have had two other children attend St Peter and St Paul Children 1st and I can not recommend them highly enough. My third daughter now attends and she loves it. Her confidence has grown, she has formed friendships and she loves attending nursery. The facilities and staff are amazing.

A superb nursery location, purpose built with everything you could wish for your child. An array of activities and qualified staff in many sectors. Additional activities and language for the children to be involved in such as funky feet, forestry activities and French. The meals provided are sufficient
but feel these could be developed further to reflect the price of the setting as it is very expensive but I wouldn’t put my child anywhere else so is justified to me. Seemless transitions between rooms and my child has enjoyed every day at nursery and we will be sad to leave for school in September. I would highly recommend this nursery and the management team are outstanding.

My son has attended Children 1st at St Peter and St Paul since he was ten months old and he’s now four.
He has always received the very best quality of care and it makes the whole experience of being a full time working mum so much easier. He is a forward and active child and I really feel that his
needs are met at all times. He loves to come to nursery every day and has had such lovely relationships with all of his keyworkers and other staff.
I would not hesitate to recommend Children 1st to any parent considering where to place their child.

Hello, my name is Lisa Phillpot and I joined Children 1st in 2010.


I started my journey as a newly qualified Nursery Educator and progressed through senior positions, becoming Deputy Manager with the Over 2’s, and now Manager of the Baby Suite for the Under 2’s.


I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education, which I’m really proud of.


I love watching the children develop into little people and knowing that we’ve helped shape their personalities. I also enjoy supporting and developing my team, helping to build a new generation of confident, passionate nursery educators.


I am especially passionate about supporting our families and creating a safe, nurturing environment where our children can learn, grow, and develop new skills.

Hello, my name is Natalie Fern and I joined Children 1st in 2009. I started as a newly qualified practitioner and over the years worked my way up to a Senior role, then Deputy Manager, Early Years Lead, and have now been Nursery Manager for the past three years.


I’m proud to hold a BA Honours Degree in Early Years Education.


What I enjoy most about my role is supporting our children and families as they grow and develop, while also seeing how the nursery team continues to support and lift one another.


I’m passionate about creating a safe, positive, and engaging environment where both children and staff can learn, thrive, and reach their full potential.
