My son has attended this nursery since he was nine months old and is currently in the early years setting. We have been extremely pleased with how the nursery has looked after him from day one, mainly due to the excellent and caring staff, he always comes home happy. The staff are always there to listen
and the activities he does in early years are excellent, he especially loves the trips to the forest. Our daughter will join in September and we have no doubt she will be just as happy and well cared for at Children 1st @ St Peters and St Paul!

My son has been with Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul from around fourteen months old and he's loved every minute. I can't thank the team enough for their caring and motivating ways they deal with our young people. We get loads of pictures and his key worker is always happy to have a chat about anything!
As he's getting ready for school the team has ensured he's so ready and he's performing amazingly, both academically and emotionally. They've taken so much stress away from us in their efforts to engage him with learning and he's excelled. I am so, so grateful to all the staff. They go up and beyond for their kiddies. Thank you!

Brilliant nursery and brilliant staff, with a fun and loving environment created for my child. Management were flexible during my time of family ill health and bereavement. Staff come up with suggestions and support with learning development at home and at nursery.

I have 2 children at Children 1st @ St Peter and St Paul, a four year old and one year old. Both of my children absolutely love going to nursery and neither of them have ever cried when I drop them off! This is despite not being able to go into the nursery due to Covid-19 restrictions and so leaving
them at the gate with staff who my children know. The nursery has been doing everything they and can ever so well, at managing the Covid-19 restrictions. Both children always look forward to attending, there is so much for them to do and I am particularly happy that they aren't restricted to one single room as in some nurseries. My four year old loves the woodland walk days, which is something that really attracted us to the nursery, as we love the outdoors. I am very confident in the staff and the care that they give my children and I am equally happy to leave my children at the nursery and not worry about them! It's great to see so many staff at the nursery with their own roles and even their own chef who makes excellent meals that they enjoy!

My two boys have really grown in confidence since attending Children 1st @ St Peter and St Paul. They have so much fun there and the staff have all been nothing but helpful since day one. They both come home buzzing after the best day!

Both of my children attend Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul and I have nothing but praise for the staff and the facilities. I have confidence that once my children are collected at the door, they are cared for exceptionally well. The interaction between staff and the children is excellent and the key
workers seem to go the extra mile to enable and encourage the kids.

Amazing and friendly staff, a great nursery with great communication and development. You can clearly see they support development from a young age. Our little boy loves each day, they always have new activities and new toys. Would one hundred and ten percent recommend to anyone.

My daughter has attended the nursery Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul for nearly two years now and it has been absolutely brilliant. From the first time we went to look round the staff were fantastic, friendly and most importantly treated my daughter as an individual, showing her just as much if not
more attention than me. She has become a well rounded little girl, who loves to learn, play with her friends and be outside. She has grown in confidence since attending and loves going to nursery.
The staff know every child by name and seem to take great pride in their relationships with them. I cannot fault them and would recommend any friend or family member to send their little ones. I know she is safe, cared for, excellently fed and most of all happy. Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do.

I felt nervous about my one year old starting nursery but within just a few short weeks he has settled in really well. His key worker is fantastic, getting to know him and giving him lots of cuddles so he feels happy going into nursery. It’s great to see pictures of how he’s progressing. The activities
are lovely and plans are made to help him achieve his next steps. The baby room and garden are well equipped, clean and tidy with lots to keep him stimulated. Very happy with the nursery and would highly recommend.

The staff and facilities at Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul are excellent. All staff have a great relationship with the children. This is reflected with how happy all the children are when they arrive in the morning and when picked up in the evening. They have also handled the changes that Covid-19
has thrown at them remarkably. Excellent nursery that I have recommended to many friends.

What a lovely nursery, from the day I went to visit it. They were so reassuring since the second day that I dropped my baby off. I was crying and they sent me pictures within five minutes of my baby smiling. His main carer is the sweetest person, she is so lovely and caring. My baby has developed so
much since being there. Best decision ever.

Choosing a nursery during a pandemic initially felt a real challenge! We viewed another nursery before visiting Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul and gosh, the difference was clear. From initially enquiring about the nursery and receiving a fantastic virtual tour due to lockdown and to attending settling
in visits, the level of thought, care and attention to detail was apparent. Our now fifteen month old son has attended this nursery for six months for three days per week and we can't rave about it enough. Each morning we're greeted with warm, welcoming smiles and staff encouraging our son in, referring to him by name, which they've done from his first day. When collecting him we hear excitable stories of what he's been up to, eaten and naps he has taken. We look forward to reading his daily diary and seeing his observations and 'next development steps' on the app. His meals and snacks are nutritious, his activities are varied and the care he receives is truly second to none. An all round exceptional nursery!

My daughter returned to nursery in August after being off since March due to the global pandemic. The staff have done an incredible job in welcoming her back and ensuring it was a smooth transition to a new room and key worker ensuring a familiar face was in the room. The nursery has quickly adapted
to the new normal of bubbles and the way you collect your child and ensuring the child doesn’t notice any difference to there time at nursery. It’s a fabulous nursery with a lovely team of staff who deliver excellent care and leave you feeling comfortable that your child is going to be loved and cared for during the day whilst you work. I honestly cannot recommend enough from fabulous facilities to diverse mealtime options.

Great facilities, lovely rooms. Mostly a nice atmosphere. Have raved about the nursery since 2017. Recently not quite as impressed but with a big change in staff, hoping once everyone is settled that the standard will return to normal.
Paying for days that the nursery isn’t even open has always been
a major issue to me, me and my husband still have to work, so along with paying for two children to attend nursery all day that isn’t open we also have to pay alternative childcare. A kick in the teeth for working parents who need usual nursery days to be Mondays and/or Fridays (when bank holidays fall).

My son has been coming to St Peter & St Paul from being 10 months old and our experience here as a family has been outstanding. All staff are loving and caring and will greet you in a morning with a warm welcome, making it easy to leave your little one with them. He is now three and bounces into nursery
every morning ready for a fun, exciting day. From bear hunts in the woods, creative activities, baking buns to puppet shows in the garden just to name a few. My son’s speech has come on in leaps and bounds, from counting to high numbers, knowing his alphabet, the day of the week to just telling me about his friends at nursery. As my son comes full time, credit has to go to the amazing staff. The management team are always there to offer support and a helping hand too. I wouldn’t recommend any other nursery.

A lovely, caring nursery. The staff are always helpful, smiling, take time to talk to you about your child and after a couple of initial weeks, my grandson bonded so well with his nursery nurse. Ten weeks later he’s crying when he has to go home. A sure sign that he’s feeling happy and confident. Thank
you.

I was so worried about sending my little girl to nursery but St Peter and St Paul‘s have been absolutely amazing. The settling in sessions were brilliant and the staff take so much care and attention to your child’s individual needs. My little girl really enjoys going and always waves and has a big
smile for her key worker. I really have been so impressed with the setup and everything they do at St Peter & St Paul‘s, they’ve really made me feel so much happier about my little girl going to nursery! Thank you.

My son has been going to this nursery for just over a year now and the support he and I have both received has been second to none. When he first started he was nervous and cried when I dropped him off, this soon stopped thanks to the loving care he was given, now he doesn't want to come home when I
pick him up. Since starting he has learnt so many new skills and has gained so much confidence. The teachers provide so many varied activities and my son loves them all. The communication between key workers seems to be fantastic, so even if my son's key worker is away, there is always someone else that completely understands my son and so his needs are always met. All of the key workers are so kind and very close to the children, my son talks highly of them all. Overall this is a fantastic nursery with devoted staff, a wide range of engaging activities for the children, very clean and my son loves the food. I feel very lucky that my son goes to this nursery.

My daughter has attended children 1st for three years now and has always been very happy there. The set up is brilliant with so much for the children to do, they move to another room every six months and each move means more variation of learning, and each a step towards school. My daughter has dietary
requirements and they have been fantastic, helping me to understand her intolerances by informing me of reactions and changing her diet my my request. I receive instant feedback every day but also have the parent app and receive lovely updates, photos and videos, showing me what they have been doing. As well as indoor and outdoor play they have a wooded area, building dens and learning about nature. I visited the nursery when I was searching for child care, three of my friends recommended it and it was by far my favourite after visiting. The staff are lovely so I've always felt confident that my child is safe and happy. The only feedback I have is, they could wipe noses more often.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.997)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.997) out of 10 for Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.991 for Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls is calculated as follows: ( (107 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.991
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.006 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 147 number of registered child places is 29.4. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 29.4 = 0.306
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
