We enquired at St Peter and St Paul's after two neighbours personally recommended their nursery service. We were pleased right from the initial visit back in 2021 up to the current date where my son attends 3 days a week. The staff are engaging with both parents and adults; the range of activities they
engage the children with is wide-ranging both indoors and outdoors and my son has developed so much since attending. The confidence I have in the staff there put my mind fully at ease when returning back to work after maternity. Whenever I've had any queries, staff have been quick to respond usually within a matter of hours. Staff are prompt with uploading learning plans for the children on a regular basis and engage parents with this by sending regular updates.

This was the first and only nursery we visited when our daughter was born. We immediately fell in love with the facility and the staff that showed us around so we didn't think twice when we applied for a place. Our daughter is now in school but our son has also joined the nursery and has recently moved
from the baby suite. In almost five years of interaction with this nursery, we always felt that our kids have been well taken care of, dare we say loved, by the staff. They genuinely care for the children and, to this day, they still know and greet my daughter by name when she visits nursery. The facilities are exceptional. The external space allows for daily contact with nature ever since they are on the baby suite. We had friends who moved their kids to this nursery because they noticed that ours were more developed, in large part, due to the way the nursery stimulates the children. We have nothing but praise for the nursery.

My daughter has been attending nursery from 6 months old and she is now four and getting ready to start school. The staff at nursery are genuine and caring. We have felt listened to and any issues have been taken seriously and support has been provided over and above our expectations. Two staff members
are outstanding and I have seen my daughter develop in every way during her time with them. The activities they do are varied and interesting and my daughter loves going to nursery.

Fantastic nursery! We have been so pleased with the staff and environment of this delightful nursery.
Our daughter has loved going since she was 11 months. Her progress, gently guided by the attentive staff, has been incredible. She, now 2.5 yrs, still loves going to nursery.
As parents, we have
always been kept abreast of developments.
Overall a safe, friendly environment with fantastic caring staff.

My son has been attending Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul since he was 11 months old (August 2022). The team in the baby suite have been fantastic since day 1! They completely put me at ease about leaving him in their care and always take the time to tell me about his day when I collect him.
My
son loves his time at nursery and is happy to go in each day. The facilities are better than any of the other nurseries I viewed. I am constantly amazed at the new things he learns at nursery all thanks to the knowledge and enthusiasm of the staff.
I highly recommend this nursery

Our daughter is a year old and has been at Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul's for 6 weeks now. Happily, she absolutely loves it, and so do we. The staff are so kind and attentive with the little ones - giving reassurance when needed, encouraging development when appropriate, all the while forging
strong genuine relationships with them. They are also great with the adults giving lots of updates and support in relation to naps, feeding and settling in. The facilities and set-up is marvellous and shows how dedicated the team is to providing a safe and stimulating environment for children to thrive. 10/10

I highly recommend Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul Day Nursery!
All the staff just put their own worries and concerns to one side to make sure the children and parents feel safe and at ease, they are all unsung heroes. My daughter absolutely loves going to nursery, she eagerly goes in with a massive
smile on her face and she comes back out with an even bigger smile.
The time, effort and resources they put in daily are amazing, the meals are very nutritious and they go the extra mile for any dietary requirements.
The nursery is clean and safe!
It takes big hearts to shape little minds and Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul are doing an outstanding job!

My 2 year only started here one month ago, following the closure of the nursery he attended since 9 months old.
I cannot recommend this nursery enough! They have been excellent in settling my boy into a new routine, new nursery setting and have kept me well-informed.
They think of everything, every
detail is noted in the app or book sent home with my child daily.

Our Daughter has been coming to the Nursery for almost 2 years now and it was the best decision we made.
She only does 2 full days per week but she absolutely loves attending, it’s been great for her personal and social development amongst others.
And the staff are fantastic, so caring, welcoming
and enthusiastic.
I couldn’t recommend St Peter & St Paul enough!

I currently have two children in this nursery and my eldest also went here. I have looked at other nurseries and none compare to the facilities and care that the staff here provide. My children love it here, they come home happy and their development is outstanding. All staff show how they genuinely
care about the children and provide great support to the parents. I would only ever recommend this nursery as it is the best in Chesterfield!

Fantastic nursery, still send our children despite being a little distance from where we live now. Both of our children have attended and each with their own unique challenges and learning journeys. Sad to see my eldest leave, nothing has ever been too much and we’ve worked very closely with the nursery
and staff to get the best support for our children, sometimes needing additional focus and attention, none of which has presented a problem to them. Keep up the great work.

We have been so impressed by this nursery from day one. The kindness of staff, quality of facilities and prepared activities are fantastic. Our boy has developed so much in terms of speech, social skills, and independence. Compared to other local nurseries this is a little more expensive, but it is
so superior to anywhere else we saw we think it’s actually great value for money. The recent spring fair also demonstrated the amazing community spirit of staff.

Both my children attend Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul Day Nursery and we couldn’t be happier with the care and support they receive.
The facilities are absolutely fantastic, especially the outdoor space and the wood trips that occur in early years.
The staff have helped and supported us with naps,
potty training and so much more.

Couldn't recommend St Peter and St Pauls enough! My little boy has been attending this nursery since January 2022 and couldn't be happier. He absolutely loves going to nursery there and is thriving in the supportive environment created by the nursery! The staff are all amazing, so kind and are genuinely
interested in your child, their wellbeing and their development.
St Peter and St Pauls is probably one of the more expensive nurseries in the area but my god is it worth it! The space and facilities are like no other nursery I looked around!

Our twin boys have attended for the last two years and I can't recommend Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul highly enough. They have offered a safe and supportive environment and our boys have grown in confidence so much because of the wonderful staff.
We particularly loved the outdoor space and this
is what made us select you!
The food on offer has been great and both boys have really enjoyed the variety, often polishing off more than one helping!
Both boys have enjoyed taking part in the plays and talk with great fondness of the fun they had practicing and performing.
We really enjoyed the graduation ceremony and the opportunity to celebrate everyone's achievements.
The staff obviously really enjoy their jobs and genuinely care about the children, the boys are really missing them all and talk about them often.
Thank you all so much for the support you offered to us as a family with choosing a nursery during Covid restrictions, the manager put us at ease from the very first day.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.997)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.997) out of 10 for Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.991 for Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls is calculated as follows: ( (107 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.991
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.006 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 147 number of registered child places is 29.4. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 29.4 = 0.306
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
