My older daughter attended ten years ago and we are now back with our youngest. The quality hasn’t declined in all of that time and the care she receives is of the highest standard. The staff are all so caring and feel like members of the family. When we leave, for the last time in July, it will be
a very sad day.

My little one has been going to Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul for the past year and I can honestly say she loves to go every morning and will run to the door. I can trust the staff implicitly and I always receive a honest and frank handover upon collection. The staff appear to genuinely care for
my child and create goals that are achievable to her abilities. Thank you for putting this first-time mum at ease.

Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul was leagues above any of the other nurseries we went to visit, so was an obvious choice for us. The staff have always been so supportive of our daughter and I feel completely comfortable she’s receiving all the care and attention she needs on her nursery days. Overall,
really happy and would recommend St Peter & St Paul to anyone.

Cannot fault the service we have had from all staff from the very first visit. It has been such a relief returning to work and not having to worry about how our daughter is being looked after, she absolutely loves her days at Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul! Staff and facilities are outstanding, thank
you.

Both my children have attended Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul Nursery since they turned 1 and I have nothing but good things to say about the place. The staff are welcoming and friendly, they accommodate as best as they can and the kids absolutely love it there. It says a lot when your child can't
wait to go in in the mornings and doesn't want to leave in the evenings. The staff go above and beyond to make the children feel loved and cared for. 10/10 from me. I wouldn't send them anywhere else.

This is my second child to attend this nursery and there was not a doubt in my mind when sending him here. My experience has been nothing but fantastic. They prepared my oldest child so well for school that the transition was seamless and he has thrived. My current child attending is 1 and loves it
there. They are so attentive and loving towards the children. And the activities they do with them are great. I would recommend this nursery to anyone and they deserve a lot of recognition for the amazing work that they do!

The school and staff are fantastic! A lot of care and attention goes into each day and our child has benefited greatly from attending the school. Our youngest child starts in May! If you’re serious about your child enjoying a school environment, this is the place to send them. 10/10!

My daughter has been with Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul Nursery since she was 8 months old and is now 2 years old. I visited several local nurseries but none compared to the warm, caring and welcoming feel at t Peter & St Paul. I immediately felt at ease with both the surroundings and the staff.
My daughter has transitioned twice now, from the baby room to the under twos and most recently, to the 2-3's (Peter Rabbits). Each time, care has been taken to ensure the transition has been smooth and she is ready to move to a new group.
I can't praise the team at t Peter & St Paul highly enough, they really take the time to build a relationship with both the child and the family and it has meant leaving my daughter with them so much easier.

Amazing nursery!
Cheerful, caring and positive.
They actually care for your child, nothing is ever too much trouble and you are constantly updated with meals, activities, newsletters.
They have fantastic opportunities for the family to become a part of the nursery, such as nativity (which melted
my heart) and spring fayre, they certainly do go above and beyond.
Food choice looks delicious and my little one raves over the cook, 'her food's better than mine' - they even supply menus for home!
Adventures in the woods, with snacks, clearly keep them all happy and entertained with room to constantly explore.
The online app is updated regularly with reviews, objectives, development and images which is really important for me to be kept in the loop. My little one goes twice a week and wishes she could go more! She runs in and never wants to leave. That says it all.
Overall, outstanding nursery, highly recommend.

Our son has attended Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul since 9 months old, as did his sister and our soon-to-be third baby will be going there too! When seeing other nurseries when we first chose St Peter & St Paul over six years ago, none other compared.
The facilities at the nursery are exceptional
and allow for so many learning opportunities both inside and outside. The outdoor spaces on-site are age-appropriate and our eldest loved her trips to the woods in early years.
The care is exceptional, the children are treated as individuals and the staff are friendly and genuinely care for the children which fosters brilliant relationships. Our children love the staff here.
We have nothing but praise for the nursery and recommend without hesitation.

My 3-year-old started preschool in January 2024 and she loves it! I was initially nervous at leaving her as it was her first time away from family however, the staff were so reassuring and provided me with great feedback when I contacted them throughout the day. They also gave detailed information at
nursery pick-up where I found that my daughter had had the best time ever and played activities that not only ensured fun but also great learning development too.
Nothing is ever too much for the friendly staff and they have gotten to know my child so well that I never feel worried about leaving her in their care. The staff have gone above and beyond to help my child with her potty training (which she has now successfully achieved due to the help of nursery).
I would highly recommend this nursery and cannot thank them enough for caring for my child during the week.

I chose this nursery, although not close to where we live, because I thought it was the best nursery in Chesterfield and I still believe this is true two years on. My son started in the baby suite in April 2022 at 1 year old, progressing through the different rooms and now the early years room.
He
has always been happy being looked after by the staff there. He thoroughly enjoys all the different fun and learning activities. There is a variety of food and he eats everything cooked by the on-site chef. All the staff have always been welcoming, caring, supportive and genuinely interested in my son. The stimulating environment, staff and interaction with other children have helped him to develop tremendously, including emotionally and his independence.
I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone.

My daughter started nursery in October 2021 in the baby suite and she’s now currently in early years. I can not recommend you enough to friends and family! She loves going as each day they are doing something different plus the staff are so kind and loving. The facilities, food and support are top-notch.
My daughter has developed so much in terms of her speech, social skills and independence too. I have no hesitation in sending my little boy to Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul Day Nursery.

We started our nursery journey, in general, very apprehensive and nervous as we had never left our little boy with anyone, including family and friends.
Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul has been fantastic from the start, they were very warm, friendly, very patient with our tons of questions and importantly
were great with our child. Whilst we were still nervous to leave him, we have been supported every step of the way and have been listened to, kept up to date and now we have a little one that already, after only two months part-time, is showing signs of increased development and we have all settled in nicely with both the nursery and key workers. Our child sleeps fab, eats happily and is enjoying getting stuck in with the toys and activities. We couldn't ask for more. We look forward to the rest of his journey and thank all of the team for the part they play and their hard work each and every day.

My 2-year-old daughter has been attending Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul from 6 months old and I couldn’t rate them highly enough.
My daughter talks about the staff constantly when at home and misses them when we are away on holiday, this, I feel, reflects the warmth and care the children are given.
The team have played a part in helping her learn to crawl, walk, talk, to develop social skills and have helped shape my lovely girls (big) personality.
I will forever be grateful that there was space for her to start at this nursery and look forward to my youngest daughter starting with them soon!

My son goes to this nursery and he loves it! He’s been there a year and a half now and the staff are all so welcoming and friendly! He gets up to such fun and exciting activities which they tell me about at feedback or even on his observations which are really detailed and personal. Also can’t thank
the management team enough for always being supportive with the hours I need and nothing ever being too big to ask about! Also, his key worker ensures that if he has come in upset she puts a message in his diary or a little photo on to reassure me that he’s having a great day! They’ve really impacted and supported his development and he has grown up so much from coming to nursery! Thank you so much.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.997)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.997) out of 10 for Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.991 for Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls is calculated as follows: ( (107 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.991
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.006 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 147 number of registered child places is 29.4. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 29.4 = 0.306
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
