Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls is situated adjacent to St Peter & St Paul Independent School, providing a link that ensures an easy transition to the school environment.

The nursery has been refurbished throughout with bright, open areas for babies, toddlers, early years and out-of-school children, aged up to 12-years-old. Children are encouraged to choose their own activity with a huge variety of options indoors and outside. Outside there is a garden with carefully chosen, age-specific equipment.

Children enjoy nutritious, healthy meals, freshly prepared by in-house cooks.

This was my first choice of nursery and what an amazing nursery it is. My son started in November 2023 and he absolutely loves it. The staff are so friendly and great with all the children.
My son has come on so much in his development since starting, thank you all so much.

This nursey, from day one, has been brilliant.
The facilities are amazing.
The staff are kind, understanding and always willing to help.
This would be the nursery I would recommend in the Chesterfield area.

My son has been attending since February 2022 and he’s come on leaps and bounds. I cannot thank everyone at this nursery enough. The quality of care they show the children is the very best. All of the staff are so welcoming and polite and nothing is ever too much trouble. I always praise this nursery
to family/friends and would recommend this nursery to anyone, as it’s been absolutely brilliant to my son. He loves coming and adores his teachers! I have no concerns at all and feel happy and at ease while working knowing that he’s somewhere safe and in a loving environment with everyone. Thank you!

Absolutely amazing staff and nursery. My child has come on so well since starting nursery! He’s always happy and loves the staff there. Really friendly and happy to help with anything.
Great with getting back to you and replying to messages or queries you have.
Clean spaces for them to play and sleep.
Always have a good menu on and my boy loves food!
Recommend this nursery 110%.
And a special thank you to two members of staff, in particular, for being there for my little boy and being his mum away from me.

We moved up to the area in August 2023 and were a bit worried about moving our daughter from her nursery in London. We needn't have worried as the nursery and staff are absolutely outstanding!
She runs into nursery with barely a look back and is always so excited to tell us about her day. Even when
there was flooding last year and we were unable to get to her to collect her from nursery, they went above and beyond the call of duty. We were called regularly by the nursery manager and the owner of the nurseries to make sure we were ok. What could have been a traumatic experience for our little one became an exciting adventure and she still talks about her nursery sleepover.
We're always kept up to date on her latest developments and you can see that they really pride themselves on their outstanding reputation.
Thank you so much for all you have done and continue to do.

This was the only nursery we looked at for our little one and from being 10 months, she has loved it. The care from the staff and clear bond they make with the children are outstanding. I think it’s a telltale sign when your child can’t wait to get to nursery in the morning!

Excellent nursery. Both my children have attended this nursery with my youngest one due to leave this year.
Both children have thrived from attending this nursery.
The staff are second to none. You feel like you're leaving your children under the care of family.

Such a fantastic nursery. We have enrolled two of our children here and would have no qualms enrolling more!
The staff are fantastic and our children love/loved going here. I wish they could understand how much we love them for all that they do - words can’t express the feeling of dropping your kid
off somewhere where you know that they’re looked after with so much kindness and respect.
I wish I could leave a six-star review because they deserve it. The staff here work so, so hard to give our children a wonderfully fun and varied day.
Our eldest left here confident with maths, spelling, reading and writing.
They say that you shouldn’t judge a company on when they get things right but on the scant occasion where they may have gotten something wrong and what they do to resolve it. The staff here, by that logic, excel.
There are too many staff to mention by name that stand out to me, they are all amazing.

When choosing a nursery for our daughter, it was immensely important that we chose the right one. From the moment we walked through the door, the love for this nursery shone through our daughter and has continued to grow since.
As an overprotective parent, I can honestly, hand on heart, say that I
do not have a single worry about leaving my child with the staff here. Each one is caring, nurturing and ‘switched on’.
We are met with a smile every time we walk through the door and feel genuinely missed when she returns from any holidays or sickness.
Genuine care is shown and staff are proactive with any concerns raised or ideas shared. They are accepting of all families and make a point to teach students about all different types of families.
The food is excellent and meals are adapted where required. Our daughter eats everything that is served and even requests nursery recipes regularly at home.
All in all, we will be sad to leave in September but will recommend to all friends and family!

My 22-month-old daughter absolutely loves this nursery. She's desperate to get out of the door each morning and always has a brilliant day. She started at just under 12 months and the transition was made so much easier for us all by the fantastic and supportive staff.
The staff are all incredibly friendly
and thorough with their handovers and we're confident that our daughter is looked after extremely well.
The facilities are fantastic with lots of outside space and the older years have even more access to the outside (including a forest school).
I can't recommend highly enough and have already booked my unborn twins in for their place to make sure they don't miss out.

Simply the best! We couldn’t ask for more from this nursery. Our toddler's confidence and skills have come on an unbelievable amount since he started at nursery almost two years ago. I have two boys in this nursery, aged 1 and 3. It was so important to me for them to be settled and have good relationships with the staff, which they work hard to do! They are very personable and treat every child’s needs differently and work well with parents to do this! I’m amazed every day by some
of the things my 3-year-old has learnt and can do. The outdoor area is great, which was vital for us as our eldest son is very physically active and loves outdoor play. He particularly likes going into the woods days!

My older daughter attended ten years ago and we are now back with our youngest. The quality hasn’t declined in all of that time and the care she receives is of the highest standard. The staff are all so caring and feel like members of the family. When we leave, for the last time in July, it will be
a very sad day.

My little one has been going to Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul for the past year and I can honestly say she loves to go every morning and will run to the door. I can trust the staff implicitly and I always receive a honest and frank handover upon collection. The staff appear to genuinely care for

Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul was leagues above any of the other nurseries we went to visit, so was an obvious choice for us. The staff have always been so supportive of our daughter and I feel completely comfortable she’s receiving all the care and attention she needs on her nursery days. Overall,

Both my children have attended Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul Nursery since they turned 1 and I have nothing but good things to say about the place. The staff are welcoming and friendly, they accommodate as best as they can and the kids absolutely love it there. It says a lot when your child can't
wait to go in in the mornings and doesn't want to leave in the evenings. The staff go above and beyond to make the children feel loved and cared for. 10/10 from me. I wouldn't send them anywhere else.

This is my second child to attend this nursery and there was not a doubt in my mind when sending him here. My experience has been nothing but fantastic. They prepared my oldest child so well for school that the transition was seamless and he has thrived. My current child attending is 1 and loves it
there. They are so attentive and loving towards the children. And the activities they do with them are great. I would recommend this nursery to anyone and they deserve a lot of recognition for the amazing work that they do!

The school and staff are fantastic! A lot of care and attention goes into each day and our child has benefited greatly from attending the school. Our youngest child starts in May! If you’re serious about your child enjoying a school environment, this is the place to send them. 10/10!

Hello, my name is Lisa Phillpot and I joined Children 1st in 2010.


I started my journey as a newly qualified Nursery Educator and progressed through senior positions, becoming Deputy Manager with the Over 2’s, and now Manager of the Baby Suite for the Under 2’s.


I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education, which I’m really proud of.


I love watching the children develop into little people and knowing that we’ve helped shape their personalities. I also enjoy supporting and developing my team, helping to build a new generation of confident, passionate nursery educators.


I am especially passionate about supporting our families and creating a safe, nurturing environment where our children can learn, grow, and develop new skills.

Hello, my name is Natalie Fern and I joined Children 1st in 2009. I started as a newly qualified practitioner and over the years worked my way up to a Senior role, then Deputy Manager, Early Years Lead, and have now been Nursery Manager for the past three years.


I’m proud to hold a BA Honours Degree in Early Years Education.


What I enjoy most about my role is supporting our children and families as they grow and develop, while also seeing how the nursery team continues to support and lift one another.


I’m passionate about creating a safe, positive, and engaging environment where both children and staff can learn, thrive, and reach their full potential.
