Child 1st Solihull is a purpose built nursery that boasts a whole range of child friendly features; from under floor heating to the windows which go from floor to ceiling, from well-lit modern rooms, to there being no stairs and lots of changing and toilet areas.

The challenge was to ensure that the outdoors reflected the indoors and both are well resourced and run, with a team that really has developed an understanding of the needs of young children and aims to involve them at every level.

With access to the outdoors from every room and increasingly developing age appropriate environments both indoors and out makes Child 1st ideal for providing care and learning in an urban area.

I am really pleased with this nursery, my daughter started attending here when she was 4 months old. It was great that the induction period started off with one hour, leading up to almost a full day, over her settling in period. The staff are lovely and you never feel like the hand over is rushed, you
know exactly what they have eaten, slept and how many times her nappy has been changed before you leave. They inform you if there are any concerns and I am more than happy leaving her here. Thank you.

My child has been attending the nursery since July 2018 and I have only had positive experiences since - if ever there's a problem I'm called straight away, I'm kept up to date with every aspect of his care which makes leaving him there so much easier.
I couldn't recommend the nursery highly enough
and all the staff are lovely too.

My little girl has been coming here since June and loves it. Smiles when we pull up in a morning.
When she started she had a month-long introduction to ensure both me and her were comfortable which was really important. Not many nurseries offered that.
She enjoys the activities.
The food provided
is freshly cooked and varied.
I love the fact that when I collect her I am given details of what her day has entailed, all the meals she has eaten down to her sleep times and nappy changes.
She has come on leaps and bounds since attending.
The staff are always very friendly, any concerns I have had have been promptly addressed.
I know my little girl is being safely looked after while I'm at work which is a huge relief.
Would recommend Childs 1st to anyone.

My daughter started the nursery in May 2018 when I went back to work after maternity leave. She was only eight months old so I was worried about leaving her in another person's care. I was nervous on her first session but the girls in the room made me feel at ease so quickly. I explained I was an anxious
parent and that I'd never left her before. They were brilliant. They sent me home with photos of what she’d been doing that day and give you face to face feedback after each session.
My daughter is now 14 months old and she loves it there. She has a good bond with her key person and the other girls in the room and she gets exited each morning when we pull up outside the Nursery. I cannot fault the care from the staff. I never have to worry about her while I’m at work because I know she is safe, happy and comfortable being at Nursery. Couldn’t recommend this nursery enough!

I was very wary of putting my child into a nursery and found it hard to leave her with anyone but myself, however, I couldn’t have chosen a better place to put her! The girls are fantastic and the managers are very friendly. My daughter attends 3 days a week and absolutely loves it! My daughter was
very shy and quiet when she first started but now she is like a different child she is so confident, outgoing and has come on leaps and bounds. My little girl adores all the nursery ladies in her room and they have been fantastic with her. My child is a very fussy eater but the managers have been brilliant in catering to her needs. I honestly recommend Child1st to anyone, it’s a very loving, friendly, happy nursery and always has a great atmosphere when you walk in.

My daughter goes here and has done since she was 9 months old. She is now nearly 4 and is thoroughly loving it here. She has grown leaps and bounds since attending nursery and the activities she takes part in really boost her confidence.
Forest School, Yoga and French she looks forward to every time.
The skills she picks up from these are exceptional.
I also love that she gets to try new foods, which she wouldn't do for me at home, but seeing the other children take part encourages her to try them.
The staff are fantastic and always willing to help and the bond they make with the children is beautiful.
Thank you for helping my baby girl grow into the beautiful little girl she is today.

My son started Child 1st in January 2018. At first, he was very unsettled as he had always been at home and we both struggled with separating from each other but the staff were very reassuring that once he settled in he was having lots of fun and making new friends. He is still at the nursery now and
11 months later he absolutely loves it and has a brilliant connection with all the staff. He loves when the music lady comes and especially enjoys taking his reading books home to tell mommy and daddy a story before bed, his confidence is so high now and I would highly recommend to any parents that are looking for a potential nursery for their child.

My daughter attends this setting every day and absolutely loves it now in Pre-School 2. She has made so many friends and has really come out of her shell. My son started here in August and initially found it hard to settle, being a first time
Mom I found it hard too! The staff couldn’t do anymore to settle our nerves and make my son happy, especially two nursery nurses, who are a credit to the nursery! He now loves his 2 days a week at nursery and we
love to hear what he gets up to at the end of the day. His development seems to be increasing along with his confidence, I would definitely recommend Child 1st to other parents.

I cannot find fault with this nursery. My daughter has been extremely happy here and looks forward to going, which is a testimony to the great staff who care for her.

Both my children came to this nursery from another setting and both of them have flourished whilst being here. The outdoor facilities and the staff are brilliant with my children and I would recommend this nursery to anyone. They put the children first and let their learning be led by the children,

My child has been coming to this nursery since last September, I was very nervous about handing them over and going off to work, leaving them with total strangers. My nerves were all for nothing- the settling period really helped to reassure me and the girls in the rooms are great. They tell me little
stories from the day, update me on new skills or funny things that have happened and really make me feel involved.
My little one has developed massively, social skills, behaviour and personality since being here. Knowing that there are healthy home cooked meals prepared on site each day and not having to worry about the little things like Sun cream, nappies, bottles etc really made a difference to us as full-time working parents. They really take care of everything! I recommend the nursery to all parents looking at their childcare options.

My son started at this nursery when he was nearly 8 months old. The transition sessions were excellent and all times I felt very confident with the staff. My son stayed in the baby room until he was around 15 months. The staff are excellent, particularly. As young mothers themselves, I felt very reassured
and trusted them completely.


My son is now in the toddler room with his new key worker. Again, excellent experience so far. I always leave my son feeling happy as he loves being there. I highly recommend this nursery as it clear the staff are very well trained and the management is excellent.

Both of my children have attended this nursery from the age of one until preschool. I have had a pleasant experience with Child 1st and both of my children have enjoyed their time here. They are both due to leave to start school and preschool. The staff have been friendly and the facilities at the nursery
have been good especially the large garden at the back with lots for the children to do. I would say there is room for improvements just with communication however that being said I can’t fault Child 1st. The only thing that is frustrating is that you still have to pay when the nursery is closed and don’t bank the days so I have lost on a lot of days.
