At Child 1st, they understand children and put them first. Their primary aim is to ensure children learn and play in a happy and fun-filled environment.

Staff are highly-qualified and experienced and ensure children's developmental needs are recognised and met in an environment where they can develop their full potential.

They understand that it can be hard to leave a child in nursery so they ensure parents are included every step of the way.

They offer pre-visits to discuss babies’ needs and keep daily diaries where they record information – such as how much milk they have had, what they have eaten (where applicable), nappy changes, sleep and rest time.

Staff inspire children’s hunger for knowledge through play, language and music and organise activities that stimulate the imagination.

This nursery has been an absolute joy and pleasure for my little girl, not only does she go into nursery smiling so happy she comes home so happy and not wanting to come home! And that speaks volumes! Always updating me on how she is getting on, things she has done, eating schedule, and many more. Pictures
of her though out the day, gifts and presents she's made and most of all the lovely staff that work there are incredible, never leave a child out and is always always so polite and so caring.. always so loving at the door to my daughter, so happy to see her and I love that! Overall cannot express how important a nursery is. And this is such an amazing nursery.. honestly I was so worried about sending my daughter to a nursery as she is my world but this nursery is just fabulous and I never ever have to worry amazing

My son went to this nursery from being a 9 month old baby up to being a four and a half year old boy, so all the way through nursery until he started school. He has just graduated from the nursery and left to start school. I wanted to write this review because this is an excellent nursery! My son was
a shy clingy baby when he started the nursery and years later, he left the nursery as a happy confident independent boy, and that is mainly because of the excellent care he received from everyone working there. This nursery was like a second home to him and the staff who work at the nursery, in every room, are absolutely fantastic at their jobs. The staff do lots of fun, creative and educational activities with the children and keep parents well informed throughout the day with lots of photos and videos. This nursery was such a life line to me and my son and I will really miss all the lovely members of staff who work there! I honestly cannot recommend this nursery enough! Sarah, mum of Leo

My son is about to start school and has spent the best part of 3 and a half years at the nursery. He has been so loved and nurtured during his time there and we cannot thank the staff enough for everything they have done during his time with them. From forest school to rhymes, singing, trips out, sensory
experiences, outdoor and indoor play, and everything in between! He's thrived so much in their care and I wouldn't fault them one bit. 100% recommend this nursery to anyone.

This is the second setting my child has attended and I can say hands down it's the best nursery. Both management and staff are excellent with my child. They're all so hardworking and compassionate. A massive shout out to toddlers for all their efforts with my little girl, it all never goes unnoticed.

We love this nursery. The staff is great, good communication, and they always keep us updated. Our daughter is simply thriving. In just a few months her speech has been improved to the point that she is able to communicate all her needs with us and she is just 19-months old and bilingual. All the girls
are very supportive and always ready to answer our questions. Thank you for making our daughter's first year of nursery such a great experience.

We absolutely love this nursery! My child has been attending since she was 1 years old and she has had such a wonderful experience. She really enjoys going to nursery and always has a big smile when I pick her up. The variety of snacks and meals is great, and we receive updates through the app. Throughout
the week, there are lots of exciting activities like Yoga and Jo Jingles which she looks forward to. It's a fantastic place for learning and fun! Fantastic nursery!

My daughter has been attending this nursery since she was 12 months old and is now just over two. From the very start, the staff have taken the time to understand her individual needs, and the bond she has developed with them is truly lovely.
The staff are what make this nursery so special - they are
kind, nurturing, and genuinely care for each child. Communication is always good, and any changes / requests are implemented with them often going above and beyond. The facilities are excellent, with a lovely outdoor playground, and there are weekly activities such as music class and yoga.
The nursery also uses a great app where they share photos, updates on what they have been doing, and even details of what they've eaten and skill observations. It's an easy and quick way to communicate with staff.
I looked around several nurseries before choosing this one, and it was the warmth and dedication of the staff that really swayed me. We haven't been disappointed and we love the nursery

My son started this nursery at 11 months old and was struggling with separation anxiety at first. The staff at Child 1st are just wonderful and he is now a very settled, happy 13 month old! It really didn't take him long at all to make connections with the girls and I am more than happy to leave him
there, knowing he is being loved and cared for. The app is updated regularly with photos and updates and this leaves you feeling so content. He eats LOTS there which can only be a good sign!! Thank you for making my return to work so easy! X

Fabulous nursery, the staff deserve medals as they are outstanding.
My little one was extremely clingy before starting nursery, however he now runs to the door to greet the staff without even a backwards glance goodbye!
He's come on leaps and bounds in his social confidence, motor skills and intellectual
development since starting there. He's always adored nursery meals and eats much more for them than for me at home!
We love checking how his day is going using the Famly app. The staff are excellent at updating it.
I'm always impressed at the creative activities they conjure up for the kids and the themes for each week at nursery.
I highly recommend Bakewell Childs First nursery to anybody!

My daughter has recently started at Child 1st Bakewell in the baby room.
Entrusting the care of your child to someone is not a decision to make lighty and I am certain I have made the right choice with this nursery. The care & comminication we have received so far has been absolutely amazing and we
are so relieved to be able to go to work knowing our baby is in safe hands.
All the staff are so lovely and nothing seems to be too much trouble.

Child 1st Bakewell provides a loving, stable and nurturing environment for our daughters. The team have been instrumental in engaging the girls in daily tasks to grow their skills and keep them stimulated and active. They instil the values that I want them to have, and they work with us as parents to
give the girls stability, consistency and kindness.

My daughter has been attending for just over a year. The baby room staff are all lovely, welcoming and helpful, in particular my daughter's key worker who has been there every step of the way and kept me informed of everything she has done and achieved in baby room through the app. My daughter loves
the homemade food at nursery eating near enough all of every single meal put in front of her. She walks straight through the door with no hesitation at drop offs and comes out excited to show me what she has made throughout the day. In all she loves attending nursery and taking part in activities that she wouldn't necessarily be able to do at home and building friendships with other children.

I was always unsure how my daughter would take going to nursery, but she loves it! She loves the staff, all the activities, and garden time. She only joined early January 2025 and her speech, independence and playing nicely has all grown. I also love that the staff keep us informed during the day via
the apps for food, toilet breaks, sleep and also that we're able to contact and check in at any given time.

My son has been going since he turned two in nursery and is now in preschool. From the beginning communication between the nursery/preschool and myself has been outstanding with updates on how his day has been, what he has eaten and observations. My son's progress has been amazing. The nursery and even
more preschools have gone up and beyond for my son and his interests. All the staff are very friendly.
I couldn't have picked a better way to start my son's journey. I feel my son is safe and secure there. Thanks again all.
