Highfield Day Nursery is set in a converted property that is staffed by a highly trained team of childcare professionals. Children's individual interests are nurtured and promoted with child-led play being a key feature of Highfield's philosophy.

A flexible interior supports a great deal of age-specific learning, with four playrooms in total, messy playrooms, sensory rooms, an art room and also a sleeping area for babies.

An enclosed garden offers year-round, all-weather activities which help to promote children's social, emotional and physical development.

They also offer the extracurricular activity of Mini Athletics alternate Monday and Friday mornings from 10am for the Bumblebees and Preschool rooms.

*7am start is available at an additional cost. Standard opening time is 7.30am.

Happy children, clean and safe.
The staff are really helpful, welcoming and friendly and very approachable if you have any concerns. The app is used to be best of ability always updating me on key milestones.

Highfield Day Nursery are extremely professional, informative and both my children have been very happy here over the last 5 years, the staff are all so friendly and warm and give the kids exactly what they need. The meals there are fantastic, all cooked on-site by the wonderful chef. Management answer
you back straight away with any concern or question you might have. Most of the staff have been there for years and that goes to the fantastic family feeling there is there.

My daughter has attended Highfield since August 2017. I highly recommend this nursery, as the staff and management are consistently professional, friendly and are always willing to exceed expectations. The level of communication is excellent, I have always been kept up to date with daily activities
and promptly informed about anything necessary. In particular, the outdoor space which they have is great and the play areas which they created indoors is impressive. Something that was particularly important to me when choosing a nursery was the meals that they provide. As my family do not eat meat, it was important that my daughter ate healthy and balanced meals and I liked that they have a full-time cook who produces all of their meals onsite and have varied menus.

Our boy has been attending Highfield Day Nursery since January 2020 and he's come on so much in that time. The staff are really helpful and friendly too. We've recently moved out of the city centre but we know it's the right decision to keep him at Highfield Day Nursery for his progress and development.
He's recently moved up to one of the Ladybird rooms and he's settled into the new room really well.

My son has attended Highfield for the last 3 years (he is about to turn 4 and will start to attend school). This nursery has been fantastic for him - supporting all the major milestones brilliantly (walking, weaning, toileting, starting to read etc) with kindness and structure. You get the impression
that staff are treated well and so you tend to get staff who have stay giving the children the consistency they crave at that age. My son loves the staff here and is known by everyone from the guy who makes all of the nutritious and delicious food to the nursery manager. We will both miss Highfield immensely. Thank you all.

Over the last three years two of my children have attended Highfield. I have always found the staff to be caring, attentive and engaging which has been really reassuring. The manager is approachable, visible and willing to help with any queries. The meals provided are varied, balanced and nutritious.
There are plenty of activities with a real emphasis on learning and development t. An excellent nursery that provides children with the tools to be the best version of themselves.

My daughter has been attending Highfield Day Nursery since she was seven months and still present. I must say that this nursery is extremely professional in all that they set out to do and my daughter has been nothing but happy and comfortable getting drop off and picked up. She’s always speaking of
the nursery practitioners and also her friends so boldly and confidently with happiness. All the staff are very welcoming and caring, hence why I feel so comfortable leaving my child at the nursery because I know that she’s safe and happy and because I am happy with the staff that are taking well care of her in my absence. My daughter is now three years of age and will be four very soon and we’ll be staring reception in September. She’s built so much confidence and high self-esteem within herself and has developed such courage in caring for others and also herself. I would recommend this nursery to anyone if not all.

Highfield Day Nursery is a beautiful setting with amazing outdoor space for children to thrive and keep active. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, which helped my daughter settle in very quickly. My daughter has taken part in some fantastic learning opportunities that have helped her to become
a confident learner. I love the fact that my daughter is welcomed with a warm smile by each and every team member who greets her and myself on arrival, which immediately puts my mind at rest as a parent when leaving my child in their care. This nursery provides a professional service, and all the children look happy and content when I drop off and pick up my daughter. Highly recommended as I absolutely love this nursery setting in all aspects, it is amazing!

Brilliant nursery, where our son has come on in leaps and bounds. Warm and friendly staff who create a safe and homely atmosphere for the children. Daily updates via the app are really valuable. Couldn’t ask for anything more from a nursery.

My daughter has been going to Highfield Day Nursery for four years and absolutely loves it. The nursery has been excellent throughout the last four years.
The staff are super friendly, caring and great with the kids. The meals given to the children are freshly cooked and nutritious.
They have lots
of different activities set for the day and my daughter really enjoys them.
My daughter was very shy when she joined nursery but has now become very confident, thanks to the lovely nursery staff.
I would highly recommend Highfield Day Nursery; it's the best nursery in the area.

Highfield Day Nursery staff are excellent and trained to high standards. They make all efforts to understand the child and the parents, and my daughters have really good relationships with all staff members. They have been fantastic during the COVID-19 crisis, and as a key worker, I have been able to
rely on them throughout when many other nurseries had closed their doors. They put very good measures in place in terms of social distancing and cleanliness. I have felt reassured sending my children throughout a very difficult period. Nursery communication is excellent both via the app, as well as newsletters with lots of information and support flowing through for children who were attending as well as the ones who were not during the crisis. They always have interesting activities, and my children are developing all skills comfortably and seamlessly. I would highly recommend Highfield.

Excellent nursery. Very welcoming. We joined in September 2019, having recently moved to the area and making the mistake of joining a nearby nursery that had a great sell, but poor delivery. The manager is obviously incredibly experienced and understanding of individual families' needs, while helping
integrate the children into the nursery. All the staff appear keen, knowledgable and happy to be there.
The support to us as keyworkers during the first Covid-19 lockdown has been amazing. The team have accommodated our work schedules, variable pickup/dropoff times and ensured our children continue to develop and excel.
We have no hesitation in recommending this nursery.

My daughter loves Highfield. Freshly prepared healthy food, caring staff that go above and beyond for the children. We are kept in the loop of her developments, and we are most impressed with the planning towards her learning in the Ladybird room.

My girl has been going to this nursery for 8 months now and I cannot rate the nursery enough!
The staff are lovely, caring, professional and happy to help with any enquiries. My little girl has come on leaps and bounds since attending this nursery and she thoroughly enjoys her time there; especially
the messy play and sensory room.

Both our daughters aged three and two started attending Highfield Day Nursery since their usual nursery closed due to the lockdown. Being keyworkers, my wife and I were desperate for childcare but at the same time were very keen not to compromise on quality. We are very pleased to have found Highfield
Day Nursery as they have been excellent in this regard. Our daughters settled in very well right from day one and we have found every single staff member very welcoming and friendly. In the short time that our daughters have been there, we have seen an improvement in their confidence. We have particularly enjoyed their app which allows us to view our daughters' progress throughout the day as well as key areas of development. Our daughters also enjoy spending time in their huge outdoor space. Our enquiries have been met with professionalism at all times. We have been really happy with our choice of nursery so far and now very keen to continue our daughters' education in Highfield.

Both my girls absolutely love Highfield Day Nursery. This must be the best nursery in Birmingham. They have been there for over six months now, and from my experience, the staff are highly experienced in providing a nurturing environment for kids to thrive.
Whilst it is a big nursery, the place is
extremely well organised and well run. The kids still get a very personal experience from their key workers. They get individual attention and their needs are each met. We also get feedback on how their day has been whenever we pick up the girls. The manager is wonderful and very involved in the day to day running of the nursery. She knows all the kids' names (and they must have over 50 children) which is telling as to how passionate she is. We have regular formal parents evenings where we discuss the progress of our girls. Both of our girls are very happy. My elder daughter's vocabulary and speech has improved dramatically since being there. I would recommend this nursery without any reservation.

My son has attended Highfield Day Nursery since he was 8 months old and is now in preschool and I really can’t praise the nursery enough.
It’s extremely well run and communication is fantastic. All of the staff involved in my son's care have always been so dedicated and caring towards him and I have
felt confident that they understand his personality and know him well.
There is a wonderful atmosphere throughout the nursery, where the children’s happiness and safety is really at the forefront of everything done.
The range of equipment and facilities are fantastic and my son enjoys the variation of activities throughout the day. I’m always impressed when I view the observations on the nursery app.
The food is particularly good here and the thorough procedures implemented mean that, even with allergies, my son eats a wide range of meals which he really enjoys.
I’m extremely happy that I chose this nursery and would recommend it highly to any other parent.

My 2-year-old daughter is very shy and having a hard time getting used to unfamiliar people and places. Every time she cries and cries frantically. In addition, she is fussy eater. I worried about whether she can handle nursery. I visited all nurseries nearby and I noticed that children at the Highfield
Day Nursery were lively with their eyes shining and not one child was left alone. So I decided to send her to this nursery and it was absolutely the right decision. The staff are phenomenal and thoughtful and the setting is amazing. Fantastic garden and great environment for children. She stopped crying on the fifth day of starting nursery and joined in with the activities with the other children. She even ate some wraps! It took just 5 days. This nursery changed not only my daughter but also myself. It is a huge relief that I know my daughter is in real professional people's hands.

Both my children have been at Highfield from Caterpillar room through to preschool. I have been extremely happy with the quality of care provided. Staff are excellent; friendly, caring and professional. The management team are always accommodating where possible (eg. extra sessions). The learning opportunities
here are great - focussing on a broad range of areas and striving to be inclusive of all faiths and cultures. Both of my children have left Highfield well prepared for the future! Thank you all.

Highfield has provided my children with a happy balance in terms of education and personal development. The team has equipped my children beautifully as they embark on school. Educationally, both children’s teachers have commented on how far ahead of the game they are compared to their peers. From
a personal development perspective, both children have had wonderful opportunities, they have made friends (some of which I truly believe will be friends for life) and Highfield has helped turn them into well rounded little people, helping to teach them values, kindness and forgiveness.


The staff are superb; no concern is too small and that goes for the parents’ concerns and angsts as much as those of the children. Their willingness to always go the extra mile has meant I have never had any doubt about Highfield and its care.

Natalie is the manager of Highfield Day Nursery in Birmingham and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for over 25 years.
