Windmill Hill Day Nursery (Swindon)

I would highly recommend Windmill Hill Nursery to any parent looking for safe, reliable & nurturing care for their child. All the staff are extremely friendly and treat you as if you're family - parents and children are known on a first name basis by all members of staff. Our son has been attending since he was 6-months old and all of the carers and key carers have been extremely supportive and encouraging throughout his time & development at the nursery. We are unfortunately moving away but we wouldn't be moving nurseries if we didn't have to! The all inclusive service is brilliant too as parents only have to worry about packing a change of clothes for their child - everything else is supplied by the nursery. We are extremely sad to have to say goodbye, but we hope we'll have an excuse to come back in the future!

Communication is excellent. I get regular updates through their app, complete with photos, and what he learned makes me feel involved in his day, I've seen my child grow in confidence, develop friendships, and become more curious about the world. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

They do a great job preparing the children for school.

Our daughter has just graduated from Windmill Hill and has been there since she was 1 years old. Both us and our children love the nursery; the children (we have a son attending too) love playing there, they have strong bonds with the staff and also learn a lot in their nursery setting. I feel like my daughter has a great foundation to start school in September which is in part due to the her time spent at the nursery. I would recommend Windmill to anyone.

My daughter has been with the nursery for over three years, and it's been a wonderful journey. The staff are caring, attentive, and truly committed to the children's growth and happiness. We've seen our daughter thrive and her confidence grow in a fun, safe, and stimulating environment. We couldn't have asked for a better start to our daughter's early years. My little girl has thrived, loved and truly had the best time being at Windmill Hill. Everyone from the nursery nurses, admin team, kitchen staff, management really are the most wonderful people you could wish to leave your little ones with. They (the team in reception, management) get to know each family and we were amazed that from early on they knew who we were, by name, would ask about our other children - so personable, especially with so many other families to remember! Upon collection our girl doesn't want to leave, she has come on leaps and bounds and we are so thankful we chose Windmill Hill. The nursery is always clean, warm, tidy and has a wide range of toys. Your children are free to play and do what they want which is what we loved, no strictly routines or forced fun. Your children couldn't be left in better hands, the truly are the best of the best! Thank you so much for all you have done for our girl.

All three of my children have attended Windmill from 12 months old up to leaving for school, my youngest will be leaving in August. They have all absolutely flourished at Windmill from the baby room right up to pre-school. Each of the staff know my children's individual needs, allowing them to express themselves in the vast amount of creative ways that Windmill have to offer. I also have regular feedback each day about what they have been up to but picking them up you can tell they have had the and fun and enjoyable day. There is always lots of activity going on from 8am when I drop off right up to pick up at 6pm and I get to hear all about it on the way home in the car. I can go to work each day knowing they are safe and the tears won't last long if they have come at drop off. Windmill over the last 9 and half years has been like family and we are going to miss all the staff terribly but would highly recommend to anyone who is thinking of looking at a nursery.

The nursery as a whole is exactly what I hoped for my little boy; a great place to spend his days surrounded by lovely people when we are working, so thank you all so very much!

She has loved nursery since day 1 and I have always felt very happy with the care she is receiving and the information I am given during handovers and through the app.

My daughter has been attending this nursery for the past 11 months, and I couldn't be happier with the care, attention & support she has received. From the moment you walk past reception, you are met with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. The staff are all incredibly friendly, professional, and dedicated, making the nursery feel like a second home for the children. The team in my child's room, including key person & supporting staff, have been absolutely fantastic. They genuinely cared about her well-being, development & always kept me updated on her progress.Thanks to their dedication in building her confidence to reaching milestones such as improved social interactions, early language development & motor skills, I have seen such wonderful growth in her. Windmill Hill Day Nursery is an exceptional place for young learners! My daughter who is 16 months old, has been thriving in the Caterpillar Room since she joined. The nurturing environment and dedicated staff have significantly contributed to her development, even as she is still finding her voice. Each day, she comes home with new experiences and a big smile, and it's heartwarming to see her growth in such a supportive setting. The well-planned activities and individualized attention make this nursery truly special. My son started in the baby room in November and took a while to settle due to being so used to being with me. I found comfort in leaving him as the staff was so kind and warming. I had updates throughout the day via the app which I found so reassuring. My son has really settled now and smiles when he sees his teachers in the mornings. He has developed so much since attending. I couldn't thank the staff enough for how well they looked after him, also the kindness and reassurance they showed to me.

I couldn't be happier with our experience, and I'd highly recommend Windmill Hill to any parent looking for a warm, supportive, and fun environment for their child!

This nursery is completely inadequate, with a clear lack of supervision and inconsistent staff practices, leaving our child feeling neglected and unsafe. My child was found by myself (mother) lying on the kitchen floor crying bitterly, the staff present at the moment, team leader for the caterpillars, appeared heartless too busy to care washing the utensils in kitchen. A baby should not be in the kitchen due to safety concerns related to potential hazards like hot surfaces, sharp utensils, and the constant movement in the kitchen; I found my child not once but twice even after mentioning to the staff, this just shows the careless attitude. My child was also not given the antibiotics as per advised because the staff wanted to go on lunch. We were deeply concerned about the overall lack of attention to basic hygiene and safety protocols even after being given our own personal bottles and teats, the staff chose to mix it with the others not at all respecting our requirements. We were clearly failed on three occasions.
