A purpose built high-quality nursery, Windmill Hill Day Nursery is situated on an attractive business park, which has a windmill and duck ponds that are utilised by staff and children for educational visits throughout the year.

My daughter has been attending this nursery for the past 11 months, and I couldn't be happier with the care, attention & support she has received. From the moment you walk past reception, you are met with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. The staff are all incredibly
friendly, professional, and dedicated, making the nursery feel like a second home for the children. The team in my child's room, including key person & supporting staff, have been absolutely fantastic. They genuinely cared about her well-being, development & always kept me updated on her progress.Thanks to their dedication in building her confidence to reaching milestones such as improved social interactions, early language development & motor skills, I have seen such wonderful growth in her. The nursery is not just a place where children are looked after; it is a place where they thrive. I will always be grateful for the love, support, and dedication shown by all members of staff.

The staff at the nursery have been exceptional for my son during his time here. His learning and language grows by the day and it's amazing to see him flourish under the guidance of the the preschool class. My son always comes home with something new everyday and it's a joy to watch.
I find everyone
to be so friendly always saying hello and goodbye, taking time to ask about how we are doing. They always do everything they can, and has helped our family through some difficult times with a compassion which we will never forget.
I highly recommend this nursery for the outstanding performance, progress and quality they provide and the amazing staff who work there.

Windmill Hill Day Nursery is an exceptional place for young learners! My daughter who is 16 months old, has been thriving in the Caterpillar Room since she joined. The nurturing environment and dedicated staff have significantly contributed to her development, even as she is still finding her voice.
Each day, she comes home with new experiences and a big smile, and it's heartwarming to see her growth in such a supportive setting. The well-planned activities and individualized attention make this nursery truly special. I wholeheartedly recommend Windmill Hill Day Nursery to any parent seeking a loving and enriching environment for their child!

My son started in the baby room in November and took a while to settle due to being so used to being with me. I found comfort in leaving him as the staff was so kind and warming. I had updates throughout the day via the app which I found so reassuring. My son has really settled now and smiles when
he sees his teachers in the mornings. He has developed so much since attending. I couldn't thank the staff enough for how well they looked after him, also the kindness and reassurance they showed to me.

My daughter has been going to Windmill Hill for almost a year now, and she absolutely loves it! The staff are so friendly and really go out of their way to make the children feel welcome and supported.
The facilities are great and designed to keep the kids engaged. They do so many fun and creative
activities, always encouraging the children's interests and helping them excitingly learn new things. It's clear that the team really cares and puts a lot of effort into making each day enjoyable and stimulating.
I couldn't be happier with our experience, and I'd highly recommend Windmill Hill to any parent looking for a warm, supportive, and fun environment for their child!

This nursery is completely inadequate, with a clear lack of supervision and inconsistent staff practices, leaving our child feeling neglected and unsafe. My child was found by myself (mother) lying on the kitchen floor crying bitterly, the staff present at the moment, team leader for the caterpillars,
appeared heartless too busy to care washing the utensils in kitchen. A baby should not be in the kitchen due to safety concerns related to potential hazards like hot surfaces, sharp utensils, and the constant movement in the kitchen; I found my child not once but twice even after mentioning to the staff, this just shows the careless attitude. My child was also not given the antibiotics as per advised because the staff wanted to go on lunch. We were deeply concerned about the overall lack of attention to basic hygiene and safety protocols even after being given our own personal bottles and teats, the staff chose to mix it with the others not at all respecting our requirements. We were clearly failed on three occasions.

My son attends Windmill Hill Day Nursery 3 days a week and absolutely loves it. They made him feel so welcome that he settled in really quickly. The staff are all approachable and always welcome us when we come in. I love seeing his weekly snapshot of all the fun activities and things he gets up to.
I would definitely recommend this nursery if you are looking for a place for your little one.

My little boy has been attending Windmill Hill Day Nursery since he was 6.5 months old. He has been made to feel safe and happy since the beginning. He has just turned 2 and is so happy to go to nursery, he runs in the room and gives cuddles to all the amazing staff. We have lovely updates via the app
through photos which is so nice to see during the week. His development is thriving and we can see this each week with the amount of activities that are available to explore and take part in. We are very glad we chose Windmill Hill as our nursery.

I cannot recommend Windmill Hill Nursery enough. The registration process was simple which was a great start. From there, they have clearly considered what a shift it is for both parent & child and the settling in process is essentially tailored to each child, with the option for parents to stay & watch
from the parent room to give comfort. ALL of the staff have been so kind & nurturing, & it's plain to see that they really enjoy their jobs, & from how the children respond to them, are good at it too! They have been nothing short of nurturing & compassionate to us all, and the activities & curriculum that they run are brilliant, I have seen my little boy come on in leaps & bounds. They are thoughtful when it comes to room changes & engage parents to make sure that everyone is comfortable, on the same page & are always welcoming of feedback. Their menus are balanced & nutritious & they have detailed & thorough process to ensure the children's safety and wellbeing.

Since my child has started nursery he has absolutely thrived. The staff are so friendly and helpful. My child is a send child and they have done lots of adaptions to make sure he doesn't lose out. Our son attend the nursery during a short period of time, unfortunately we need to move him to another nursery due commute issue.
During his time there we had a fantastic experience. From day one, the staff made our son feel comfortable, safe, and engaged. The team are incredibly caring and dedicated,
the activities were always varied and creative, fostering both learning and fun. We saw great progress in our son's social skills, confidence, and curiosity during his time there.

We could not have asked for a better nursery. Our daughter started at Windmill Hill just before her first birthday and continued there until starting school. Every room has exceptionally high standards with very kind and caring staff. The preschool class taught her so much, including independence and

My daughter has attended Windmill Hill Day Nursery since she was around 7 months old and has loved every single moment of nursery life. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and the management team are all approachable and helpful. At the start of her nursery journey, she was extremely shy and would
hardly talk to anyone, but her key workers in each room took time to get to know her and this has helped her become a confident little girl. There were plenty of her interests within the environments and that helped her confidence grow and now she is a confident little girl, who is now leaving to start school in September. She is sad to be leaving. Thank you so much to everyone at Windmill Hill.

My little girl attended in her last year of preschool from being at another nursery since she was 9 months old.
Windmill Hill staff were everything I would have asked for in someone caring full-time for my child. They always focused on the child's interests and expanded at every opportunity. I would

My eldest son has attended Windmill since he was 9 months old and since the very first day, it has been a positive experience. All the staff are brilliant and clearly genuinely care for their classes, they're always thinking of fun new ways to keep the kids engaged and learning even in difficult circumstances.
My son is confident and outgoing by nature, but this has also been nurtured by the staff at Windmill too. They know him well, leaning into things he enjoys and gently encouraging him to keep trying at things he doesn't enjoy. The staff at reception are also really friendly and helpful.

My son is going to be leaving Windmill Hill this week due to starting primary school. He has been here since he was 10 months old and my daughter also attended from the same age, up until she left in 2022. Both my children have loved it here, as have I. The staff are just incredible, from being greeted
at reception, right through to each and every room. They are caring, compassionate, kind and nurturing, everything you would want when selecting this type of setting for your child. My children bonded so well with their key workers throughout their time here and that's a testament to the staff that are employed here. They made it so easy for me, especially when I had my daughter as a first-time mum - to be able to return to work, knowing full well that I was leaving my children in such wonderful hands. I simply have nothing negative to say about our experience and our time here and I will look back on it all with such happy memories. We as a family, will really miss Windmill Hill.

Kayleigh is the Manager of Windmill Hill Day Nursery in Swindon and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 20 years. Kayleigh joined Childbase in 2014 and has completed her BTEC National Diploma in Early Years.


What is your favourite feature of Windmill Hill?
The nursery is surrounded by beautiful outdoor environments which create amazing learning opportunities for the children, for example, the nature trail which the children love to explore. The nursery is also on one level which enables the children to have free-flow opportunities in our garden areas throughout the day.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
Recently achieving outstanding in our Ofsted inspection, and the staff’s personal pride in their own professional development through completing degrees and online training. This is also shown through our internal progressions across the nursery.
