Little Pioneers Swindon is a purpose built, modern nursery which is all on one level with large, bright and airy rooms and their supportive practitioners make Swindon feel like one big family.

They have an app, ParentZone, which keeps parents/carers informed about life at nursery with photos from their day, meals eaten, assessments and even toilet training progress! They have 5 Little Pioneers who help share their core values with children such as encouraging them to express their feelings to taking care of the world.

They are big on happy children which is why they have areas for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to local care homes and take care of each other and the world. They are silver eco schools accredited, a programme that sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver big environmental differences.

They are also big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained.

At Little Pioneers Swindon Hospital Nursery there are four age appropriate spacious rooms, nought to one-year-olds, one to two-year-olds, two to three-year-olds and three to five-year-olds. All rooms have direct access and 'free flow' into the secure garden area. Each room is self-contained with a sleep room, nappy and toilet area and a milk kitchen for younger rooms.

I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough. Our daughter loves it and has progressed way beyond our expectations. The staff are fabulous, from the management and admin team through to the room practitioners. They have kept us informed and have navigated the nursery brilliantly through a very difficult
period.

I love the staff so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them, they ensure that the needs of the children come first.
The setting is amazing and lots to do for the children, communication is outstanding and the app is kept up to date with the day's activities which I love, so when I am on
break I can see what my little man is up to.

I cannot recommend this nursery enough. The staff are so lovely, caring and supportive. My son currently attends four morning sessions a week and every morning we pull up to nursery he has the biggest smile on his face!

My daughter is so happy at Little Pioneers Swindon. She regularly asks if she can go at the weekend! The building is lovely, it’s incredibly well organised, the quality of care, learning/activities and food are very high but what makes this nursery so special is the staff.

The nursery is clean and well kept. The rooms are big and the outdoor space is brilliant. The parent app keeps you informed of their daily activities, food, nappies and sleep. The staff are so friendly and they always welcome the children with a big smile. My little girl loves going there.

I can’t fault the nursery, my son (28months) is so happy going he rarely says goodbye at the door and just walks in.
The support with potty training has been incredible. They say it takes a village to raise a child and I feel that support tenfold with this team.

My daughter has been at this nursery since 11 months and she’s now about to leave to go to school. They’ve been fantastic. I could talk about the fact they follow an educational curriculum through play, that they actively encourage child-led learning and activities - as messy or creative as you like
but the biggest proof for me is how much she loves going. She looks forward to it and is excited to tell me what she’s been up to afterwards. Their communication is great and the app is a really nice touch, so as a parent you can log in and see what they’ve eaten, been up to, napped etc. The staff are wonderful and build meaningful trusting relationships with us as parents and the children.

Our son has been attending Little Pioneers since he was 12 months old. We loved the nursery from the first visit, it's extremely clean and very well maintained with excellent facilities, we loved that its purpose-built for little ones. The team are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble
and our son loves all the staff. He was initially shy but the team and, in particular, his key worker have encouraged him and helped him to become confident and he now can't wait to go each day. We're amazed by how much he learns and how much he has developed in all areas since starting the nursery. The imagination and work that goes into the activities the staff do with the children every day is fantastic. Communication to parents is excellent. We would recommend Little Pioneers to other parents, our experience has been brilliant.

We could not be happier with this nursery and preschool. Our son has been at this nursery since 13 months old and is now enjoying the preschool. The staff are always kind and encouraging to the children and prompt and reassuring for parents. The environment is beautifully clean and they do lots of fun
and educational activities every day. Lots of outdoor play and the teaching in preschool room has really improved his confidence and knowledge.

There is a reason this nursery received ‘Outstanding’ with Ofsted! It is absolutely incredible. My son (14 months) joined last month and settled in immediately. His key worker was warm and loving towards him from his very first arrival, and every member of staff meets and greets at drop off and pick
up with a smile - knowing all children by name too! It makes such a difference. Even in just a few short weeks, he has developed so much, lots of new words and babbles, he eats brilliantly there (the meals are healthy and varied), and every day I get an update on all the activities he has done that day. Lots of sensory activities and outdoor play which he loves, it sounds like he has a fantastic time there and he comes out smiling every time. It is such a stark contrast to his previous nursery where he took months to settle in. I drop him off knowing he will have a great day and be taken such good care of. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend 100%!

We have used this nursery for our daughter and now our son. We would highly recommend them as they have helped to nurture and grow both our children to be ready for school.
It’s a shame with Covid we haven’t been able to go into the room for a while but this isn’t their fault it’s due to Covid.

We’ve been so impressed with Little Pioneers, and cannot fault the work they do there. They seem so genuinely caring for all the children in their care and both our boys love their time there. The facilities and rooms are beautiful with their low or no plastic policies. Communication and support from
all the staff has been fantastic, and the food always sounds so yummy!

Our little boy has been in Little Pioneers since he was around 8 months old and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough. Our child’s development has come on leaps and bounds throughout his time there and I feel confident that his learning will only improve further as time goes on. It is a daunting thing
to look at nurseries and then put your trust in people you don’t know very well - especially as this was for our first child - but the staff there are amazing. You get updates as to what is going on in your child's day and you are also given a lot of information about how the nursery is being run. Especially throughout the pandemic, they have been so informative which has been really lovely and assuring. Amazing nursery!

The Review Score of 10 (9.963) out of 10 for Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-school, Swindon is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 49 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 49 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.963 for Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-school, Swindon is calculated as follows: ( (568 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 588 Ratings = 4.963
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-school, Swindon is based on 49 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 105 number of registered child places is 21, which has been reached with 49 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2003

I have worked at the nursery since the day it opened in 2003 and have loved developing it into the amazing place it is today! I have over 30 years of experience in childcare and use my knowledge and experience to build the team and the nursery to be the best.

As a mum of 2, I know what things are important to families and cascade these thoughts and feelings to the team so they get a true understanding and empathy towards our families.

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2012

I was first introduced to the Little Pioneers nursery when I completed a placement here as part of my college training back in 2012. I thoroughly enjoyed my time, so much so that I applied for a position and became a colleague as soon as I completed my training! I have worked my way up from Nursery Nurse to Room Manager, Third in charge and most recently I have taken on the role of the Deputy Manger. I worked in the 2-3s and under 2 ages mainly. I am the nursery SENCO and enjoy supporting families that need a little bit more support for their child. I work full time so you will get to see me every day, I'm always happy to stop for a chat and if you need to pick my brains about something then I'm here for you!
