Little Pioneers Swindon is a purpose built, modern nursery which is all on one level with large, bright and airy rooms and their supportive practitioners make Swindon feel like one big family.

They have an app, ParentZone, which keeps parents/carers informed about life at nursery with photos from their day, meals eaten, assessments and even toilet training progress! They have 5 Little Pioneers who help share their core values with children such as encouraging them to express their feelings to taking care of the world.

They are big on happy children which is why they have areas for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to local care homes and take care of each other and the world. They are silver eco schools accredited, a programme that sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver big environmental differences.

They are also big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained.

At Little Pioneers Swindon Hospital Nursery there are four age appropriate spacious rooms, nought to one-year-olds, one to two-year-olds, two to three-year-olds and three to five-year-olds. All rooms have direct access and 'free flow' into the secure garden area. Each room is self-contained with a sleep room, nappy and toilet area and a milk kitchen for younger rooms.

We have been so happy with this nursery. I am so glad I decided to enrol my daughter here because I genuinely do not believe there is another nursery anywhere that is as amazing as this one. My daughter is so happy here, she cries when it’s time to go home! I’m sad that my daughter is due to start primary
school in September because she and I are going to be sad that we won’t get to come and see everyone at the nursery anymore! Staff are fantastic and it is like leaving her with trusted friends, as they really take the time and effort to get to know the family. Thanks Co-op. We love you!

What a fantastic nursery! Every single member of staff has made our children feel welcome, safe and secure which is all we can ask as parents. Staff build wonderfully strong, lasting relationships and offer a stimulating, varied and challenging environment for the children. Our daughter comes out full
of the experiences she has had and the friendships she has built, both children and staff. Staff report back to parents clearly with relevant information. I thought the recent Pre School information evening/parents evening was a very important part of our daughter's transition into the next stage of nursery. All staff do everything they can to help with any queries. We can not recommend this nursery highly enough, their team do an amazing job!

The staff are always friendly and happy, they make me feel at ease and my child is always happy to be going to nursery. The staff are great at encouraging early years development and have introduced lots of new ways to help the children in ways which are fun.

Such a lovely nursery! Being an anxious mum, I am put at ease from the minute I step into the nursery, the whole team are lovely and always smiling. My son has come on leaps and bounds in his socialising skills and much more. It is clear that the children are the upmost important to all the carers involved
and I'm so glad and grateful for all they do. I couldn't have asked for a better nursery. He has loved it from the start (9months now 3) and plus it's only over the road from my work so can be there in an instant if ever needed.

My daughter had a lovely time at this nursery. Notably down to a handful of carers. She was looked after and encouraged to be her best.
The downside was the disorganisation of admin matters where I had to ask three times for a particular payment plan, which were ignored and things were forgotten quickly.
Emails got lost. In the end, I couldn't be sure that things would get done unless I did them myself.
Overall though I felt happy leaving my little girl there and knew she was happy.

It's a great nursery. The car park can be slow to enter if you don't have a hospital pass, but care and learning for the children are the most important things and this nursery does that extremely well. I highly recommend this nursery to friends and family.

Overall a really good creche. Staff are always welcoming and friendly and happy to answer any questions. She's always happy when I pick her up at the end of the day and is always excited to go so clearly has fun and is always well fed. They have loads of toys and activities for the children to do so

My son has been at the nursery since he was 9 months old and he will be going to school this September. We are very happy with the nursery. I couldn't recommend this nursery enough. After a long time thinking about the childcare provisions within the area and extensive looking around at the nurseries in Swindon, I stumbled upon this nursery and I was really impressed with how informative they were on the telephone, as with any first time
parent I was sick with nerves leaving my child, but they were fantastic and they really reassured me and didn't make me feel stupid that I was feeling this way.
My child is now in the pre-school room and has gone through all the rooms. My child has developed well in all areas of development and I feel this is down to the staff in the nursery.
There is a welcoming vibe from the entrance of the nursery right through to the kitchen. Everyone is always happy and shows an interest in my child. I feel these girls at the nursery are another part of our family as they have been a massive part in my families lives.
I could not thank them enough for the memories they have created!

My son has been attending the nursery for nearly 6 months now and he loves it, it's very comforting to know he actually wants to go in the mornings when I'm at work. The nursery was fantastic helping him settle in and made a picture collage for me of his first day as they knew that I was feeling emotional
going back to work. The activities they do are extremely varied and my son has come on leaps and bounds. The food is great too, the menu is very varied and the food looks and smells lovely too. The management team are lovely and are really approachable, I feel confident that the nursery staff are in wise hands.

A fantastic nursery with warm and helpful staff who helped my 22-month old enjoy a year of fun and games.
We only left because my job moved and both of us miss it daily.
A wonderful purpose built nursery, with excellent catering, and all the facilities you would expect - but the thing that makes
it are the staff.
They always give a daily handover and seem to genuinely enjoy what they do.

Both of our children have benefitted from the friendly, thoughtful personalised care delivered in a great environment. Our older child has now gone on to school and staff there have commented on how well prepared she had been by the nursery.

All the staff are friendly, welcoming and show professionalism and care to all the children. My son loves going and we'll miss it when he goes to school in September this year. The food provided is brilliant and a good variety. The learning and development skills my son has gained is amazing. He enjoys

I am very impressed with the Co-op Nursery at Great Western Hospital. My daughter was there for 2 years and is now at school. I didn't have any hesitation sending my son there when he was 11 months old.
He has a cow's milk allergy and I went in to speak to the manager and they were more than happy
to accommodate his needs, even having dairy free ice cream there on occasion. He has now started having some dairy products to try to re-introduce him and I have spoken to the cook who is happy to listen to me about what he can and can't have.
When I drop him, I don't get a backwards glance from him as he goes into his room and is immediately settled and playing.
I can't recommend this nursery highly enough, they treat every child individually and bring the best out of them.

All staff at the Swindon Hospital Nursery are very welcoming, friendly and very approachable. My daughter has now been going for a year and she has come on leaps and bounds with all the activities and socialisation that goes with the nursery so much so she doesn't always want to come home when I go
to collect her - to me that says a lot and is a credit to the nursery of how comfortable, confident and familiar she is with the staff and fellow peers. I haven't got one fault with the nursery and would highly recommend it. It's the best thing I have done and made going back to work a lot easier knowing my daughter has brilliant care.

I have worked at the nursery since the day it opened in 2003 and have loved developing it into the amazing place it is today! I have over 30 years of experience in childcare and use my knowledge and experience to build the team and the nursery to be the best.


As a mum of 2, I know what things are important to families and cascade these thoughts and feelings to the team so they get a true understanding and empathy towards our families.

I was first introduced to the Little Pioneers nursery when I completed a placement here as part of my college training back in 2012. I thoroughly enjoyed my time, so much so that I applied for a position and became a colleague as soon as I completed my training! I have worked my way up from Nursery Nurse to Room Manager, Third in charge and most recently I have taken on the role of the Deputy Manger. I worked in the 2-3s and under 2 ages mainly. I am the nursery SENCO and enjoy supporting families that need a little bit more support for their child. I work full time so you will get to see me every day, I'm always happy to stop for a chat and if you need to pick my brains about something then I'm here for you!
