Little Pioneers Swindon is a purpose built, modern nursery which is all on one level with large, bright and airy rooms and their supportive practitioners make Swindon feel like one big family.

They have an app, ParentZone, which keeps parents/carers informed about life at nursery with photos from their day, meals eaten, assessments and even toilet training progress! They have 5 Little Pioneers who help share their core values with children such as encouraging them to express their feelings to taking care of the world.

They are big on happy children which is why they have areas for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to local care homes and take care of each other and the world. They are silver eco schools accredited, a programme that sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver big environmental differences.

They are also big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained.

At Little Pioneers Swindon Hospital Nursery there are four age appropriate spacious rooms, nought to one-year-olds, one to two-year-olds, two to three-year-olds and three to five-year-olds. All rooms have direct access and 'free flow' into the secure garden area. Each room is self-contained with a sleep room, nappy and toilet area and a milk kitchen for younger rooms.

We started during the first lockdown, so did not get the usual settling in days (completely understandable). Despite not having the usual slow introduction, our little girl fitted right in, and from the beginning, she barely gave us a backwards glance going in, thanks to the welcoming attitude of the
staff. She has come on leaps and bounds, sometimes surprising us with new things she has learnt. They keep us regularly updated on the app. They are always happy to answer questions and give us tips. They have varied activities each day but will centre activities around the interests of the children. We love how they are encouraging the children from a young age to consider the environment such as teaching them about rubbish and recycling.

Our daughter has been going to Little Pioneers for nearly a year, and my wife and I are incredibly impressed with the progress she has made. The staff are very attentive, and from conversations with them at drop off and pick up, they care very deeply about her. We receive numerous updates during the
day, and we can tell that the team try and encourage our daughter's interest and try and introduce her to new ones.

The nursery staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly. The team helped to settle our son, despite him starting during lockdown, and he now talks about nothing else! He has enjoyed the daily structure, as well as many opportunities to learn (which are all combined with fun activities and play, so that
he often doesn't even realise he is learning!) Staff have always been flexible and supportive, as well as having a safe, sensible and fun approach (much needed during the last 12 months!) Overall, our son (and us as parents) were made to feel part of the nursery family from day one - thank you so much.

Awesome. Highly recommended. My little one is so happy going, she rarely says goodbye at the door and just walks in.
The support has been incredible. She loves going to nursery every day and sometimes on the weekends also she says 'I want to go'.

My little one has been in this nursery since she was one year old. I made the choice to place my little one in this nursery due to being close to my workplace and I have been impressed by the level of care staff members have given to my little one. The staff are friendly, hard-working professionals
and truly amazing people. The nursery updates me via email, apps and when I collect my little one at the nursery. They are excellent, they have a newsletter to show parents the updates of activities that the nursery will develop in the following months as well as the menus they are going to offer to the children attending the nursery (my little one is very picky on food and the nursery staff have been able to encourage my little one to try new food with my child's approval). My little one loves being in the nursery - she loves all activities developed in this nursery (I have a hard time taking her home). Thanks to the nursery my little one is diaper/nappy free. Once again thank you for everything.

My daughter has been at Little Pioneers for almost two years now and I could not fault the nursery. During this time we've had a pandemic which meant they were unable to take her for a duration but the way it was handled with communication and fees was above what would be expected. We were kept informed
every step of the way. When she returned after five months off I was sceptical of how my daughter would react but she loves going in every day and talks about her key workers and friends all the time. We are updated throughout the day of meals and activities on the parent's app which is great and a few of my Mum friends wish their nursery had a similar technology. What I liked when I chose the nursery was the fact every was extremely clean and in great repair. My daughter has learnt so much from attending and does activities that I wouldn't have known to do at home or would steer clear of due to the mess. All the staff are friendly and recognise you which is lovely.

My son has been with the nursery for the last two-plus years (from one year old) and we have had a fantastic experience throughout. The staff are always warm, kind and considerate to his needs and our concerns. As a child with dietary allergies, I was incredibly apprehensive at his attendance and the
attention that staff would pay to this - I shouldn't have worried, staff have always been incredibly attentive.
His days are filled with a variety of activities including lots of time outside, (something which was a must for us) and this is always based around fun learning and development.
The team have navigated COVID brilliantly and without the children feeling any of the impact - well done.
Any concerns and queries we have are always addressed in a professional manner and with open discussion, and with a positive outcome. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and look forward to our second child enjoying and benefitting from this wonderful nursery.

Really pleased with the nursery. Good communication. Our child really enjoys it as comes back babbling away and often clutching a piece of artwork.
Our child is vegetarian with an egg allergy and despite this, we are really pleased with how her diet is managed. We are pleased with how her educational

Great nursery!! Little Pioneers made me and my child feel very welcome and safe in such a strange time when joining during Covid-19. My little girl always comes out smiling and you can see she’s always had such a lovely day. Her communication skills have come on leaps and bounds. It’s always daunting
for me to have my child cared for from 10 months old but Little Pioneers made me feel secure in the knowledge their care was the best and the skills my little girl has learnt now at 18 months old are fantastic. Thank you all at Little Pioneers x

An excellent setting with fantastic staff.
We came here as novice parents with our first child and they were a great source of help and advice.
So much so we are back with our second child!
Both our children absolutely love it here and never want to leave when we go to collect them!
The preschool
in particular was fantastic in getting our son ready for the step up to school.
We would highly recommend this nursery.

An excellent place for childcare, the staff very friendly and helpful and my kid enjoys going there a lot. Great for learning and social interaction with other kids, a clean environment and up to date daily info on the app it is all you need to trust someone with your kid while you work.

We have been extremely impressed with Little Pioneers nursery from the moment we visited. The staff are all extremely friendly and interact beautifully with all the children.
We have been more than happy with all of the communication that we have had with the nursery, they are professional, polite
and informative. The app that they use to update you throughout the day is updated regularly, if you post a comment or question it is responded to promptly.
Activities are varied, educational yet fun and always age-appropriate. Lots of thought and preparation seems to go into what they plan.
Throughout the pandemic, they have been very responsive to the ever-changing rules and have taken infection control very seriously. It has really shown that the safety of the children is at the heart of what they do.
Any time our daughter has had a bump or become unwell we have been grateful for how well the situations have been handled.
I love the ethos and ethics that are instilled.

I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough. Our daughter loves it and has progressed way beyond our expectations. The staff are fabulous, from the management and admin team through to the room practitioners. They have kept us informed and have navigated the nursery brilliantly through a very difficult

I love the staff so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them, they ensure that the needs of the children come first.

My daughter is so happy at Little Pioneers Swindon. She regularly asks if she can go at the weekend! The building is lovely, it’s incredibly well organised, the quality of care, learning/activities and food are very high but what makes this nursery so special is the staff.

The nursery is clean and well kept. The rooms are big and the outdoor space is brilliant. The parent app keeps you informed of their daily activities, food, nappies and sleep. The staff are so friendly and they always welcome the children with a big smile. My little girl loves going there.

I have worked at the nursery since the day it opened in 2003 and have loved developing it into the amazing place it is today! I have over 30 years of experience in childcare and use my knowledge and experience to build the team and the nursery to be the best.


As a mum of 2, I know what things are important to families and cascade these thoughts and feelings to the team so they get a true understanding and empathy towards our families.

I was first introduced to the Little Pioneers nursery when I completed a placement here as part of my college training back in 2012. I thoroughly enjoyed my time, so much so that I applied for a position and became a colleague as soon as I completed my training! I have worked my way up from Nursery Nurse to Room Manager, Third in charge and most recently I have taken on the role of the Deputy Manger. I worked in the 2-3s and under 2 ages mainly. I am the nursery SENCO and enjoy supporting families that need a little bit more support for their child. I work full time so you will get to see me every day, I'm always happy to stop for a chat and if you need to pick my brains about something then I'm here for you!
