Little Pioneers Swindon is a purpose built, modern nursery which is all on one level with large, bright and airy rooms and their supportive practitioners make Swindon feel like one big family.

They have an app, ParentZone, which keeps parents/carers informed about life at nursery with photos from their day, meals eaten, assessments and even toilet training progress! They have 5 Little Pioneers who help share their core values with children such as encouraging them to express their feelings to taking care of the world.

They are big on happy children which is why they have areas for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to local care homes and take care of each other and the world. They are silver eco schools accredited, a programme that sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver big environmental differences.

They are also big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained.

At Little Pioneers Swindon Hospital Nursery there are four age appropriate spacious rooms, nought to one-year-olds, one to two-year-olds, two to three-year-olds and three to five-year-olds. All rooms have direct access and 'free flow' into the secure garden area. Each room is self-contained with a sleep room, nappy and toilet area and a milk kitchen for younger rooms.

This is the only nursery I have been involved with so cannot compare with other nurseries but my son looks very happy when going to nursery. Plus the staff are very nice and will promptly reply to your email or message. Also, it's nice to see cards made by my son on occasions like Mothers Day, Easter
and so on, which shows that there are lots of activities he experiences with and learn. Will definitely recommend others to choose this nursery. Hopefully, will get to know more after removal of lockdown.

I can not rate them highly enough. Every single person there is great with my child and he has been very happy there over the last 3 years of his life. They all care deeply about their jobs and are willing to go the extra mile for the children. The standard of care is exceptional and am very happy to
leave my child there knowing that he will be safe and have fun.

Our boy has been attending for nearly a year now and loves nursery! He's never had a bad day there and runs into nursery every morning as he can't wait to get in. We love that the staff know all the children individually and genuinely care for our boy. There's a real focus on nature, small world play
and we love it that they spend so much time outdoors even if the weather isn't fantastic! We love it's a plastic-free environment too! The food is well varied, a ton of mixed activities every day and nappies, food, activities, photos and observations are on the app each day so we are kept well informed! Any tiny issues we've had were sorted asap and we've had little to no concerns as our boy is flourishing beautifully there thanks to the dedicated and amazing staff! The communication from the team is fantastic. We couldn't have picked a better nursery and are so pleased our boy loves his nursery! We highly recommend Little Pioneers and have other friends children join the nursery too as it's so good.

Absolutely brilliant nursery which my son has loved going to before and during covid times.
We’re always communicated with appropriately and the staff are always cheerful and understanding at drop-offs and pickups. We couldn’t ask for a better nursery to send our son to.

My son absolutely loves going to nursery and enjoys the huge range of activities they have. The nursery has a large outdoor area that is perfect for the children to explore. All three of my children have attended the nursery. Ideal nursery for NHS staff. Always great communication between the staff

My son has been going to the nursery for nearly 3 years now and my second son is due to start in September. The staff are fantastic. My son has built amazing bonds with the staff. They treat each child as an individual and genuinely care. The nursery is laid out so well, with so much thought and care
put into each room.
They work with the children’s interests and my son has learnt so much in his time there.
The extra measures they have put in during covid are far beyond anything I’ve heard about from friends with children at other nurseries. The support provided has been amazing.
I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nursery to use Little Pioneers. I know my son will be sad to leave when he starts school.

Currently, my son attends this nursery and they are fantastic. My daughter also attended before she started school. All the staff are lovely and friendly. They are great at providing for my son especially with him having special dietary requirements and allergies.
We recently left this nursery for
my son to be looked after by relatives due to a house move, but due to unforeseen circumstances it didn’t work out and despite the nursery now being over half an hour away from home, there wasn’t another nursery anywhere as good that we wanted to use, hence being back. They were fantastic at fitting him back in and it’s as if he never left.
He is always happy to go in on a morning and full of beans when collected at the end of the day.
They are very detailed on the app with what food my son has had through the day, along with nappy changes, naps and activities done. A few friends of mine was very jealous, as some nurseries can be very vague with information. A great all round nursery.

Our gut feeling to select Little Pioneers as our son's nursery has really paid off as the staff are so friendly and take pride in what they do. We have total confidence in their ability and really enjoy reading about the lovely activities they've been up to with the children.

Brilliant nursery. So supportive to me and our child. Our toddler loves it, happy in the morning when I drop him off and happy boy when I pick him up. Great food, brilliant variety. Amazing breadth of activities inside and outside. Our boy is quieter and they took this into consideration and let him go to the story zone whenever he needs some space.

With the extension, the facilities are even better.

I am blown away by just how wonderful the staff are here! They truly are first class.
We recently moved to Swindon and I was so concerned we'd find a good nursery. They certainly haven't disappointed and I'm confident my daughter gets the love and care she needs and more. The educational resources

My little one goes to the preschool and enjoys it there so much. All staff are kind and caring and interact with the children really well. I have no worries when he attends for the day. This nursery is the best around and you can see as it has an 'outstanding' award in terms of service it provides. We have been with Little Pioneers for all the way through from the baby room up until preschool. The activities that are organised on a daily basis are stimulating and fun for the children.
The refurbishment that took place has resulted in eco-friendly equipment and bright airy rooms.
The outside space is well maintained and the toys to play with are all in a fantastic condition.
Meals are provided that are substantial, healthy and nutritious.
The staff are all super friendly and it has been a joy to bring my children to this well run nursery.
Bravo to all the staff!

My son has been coming to your nursery for two years and he loves it.
The staff are friendly, helpful and approachable and my son has built up some lovely relationships with them. It is almost a shame when his birthday comes round and he has to leave his keyworker behind and form a bond with someone
new in the next room, though all the staff are lovely so this doesn't take long.
He has recently moved up to Preschool and every morning he looks forward to going to Preschool to see the staff and his friends.

I have worked at the nursery since the day it opened in 2003 and have loved developing it into the amazing place it is today! I have over 30 years of experience in childcare and use my knowledge and experience to build the team and the nursery to be the best.


As a mum of 2, I know what things are important to families and cascade these thoughts and feelings to the team so they get a true understanding and empathy towards our families.

I was first introduced to the Little Pioneers nursery when I completed a placement here as part of my college training back in 2012. I thoroughly enjoyed my time, so much so that I applied for a position and became a colleague as soon as I completed my training! I have worked my way up from Nursery Nurse to Room Manager, Third in charge and most recently I have taken on the role of the Deputy Manger. I worked in the 2-3s and under 2 ages mainly. I am the nursery SENCO and enjoy supporting families that need a little bit more support for their child. I work full time so you will get to see me every day, I'm always happy to stop for a chat and if you need to pick my brains about something then I'm here for you!
