Co-op Childcare Littlehampton is a purpose-built nursery and is made up of six rooms and a large garden.

They have areas for growing food ( and eating it), regular visits to local care homes and care for each other and the world. Their ParentZone app keeps parents/carers informed about their little ones at nursery with photos from their day, meals eaten and even toilet training progress!

They are big on safety and that's why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained. They have 5 Little Pioneers who help share their core values with the children, from encouraging them to be independent to making a difference in the world.

They hold the silver award in the green flag eco schools programme which sees children lead the way in making a little changes that deliver big environmental differences.

At Co-op Childcare Littlehampton they like to learn through play with regular Forest School inspired activities where they encourage all of their children to explore outdoors as part of their development.

My daughter joined Butterflies in January just after she turned 2 and the staff there have been so supportive of her transitioning from a nursery where she had been since she was 10 months. My daughter has such fun, eats a wide variety of food and does loads of activities. Highly recommend this nursery.

Lovely nursery. My little girl is absolutely thriving there. She does lots of activities. She loves the food. She’s always coming home with some arts and crafts she’s made. The staff are so lovely, kind and friendly. I love having the app so I can see what she’s doing on the day at nursery.

My son has been attending The Co-op Nursery since September 2022, starting in Butterflies, currently in Pre-school, and he absolutely loves it. He asks to go at the weekends too! Everyone who works there is so lovely, kind and caring. They do an amazing job and I couldn't ask for better for my child.
My daughter has been enrolled to start this September and she already knows so many of the staff there as they take the time to speak to her too, and have done since my son started there. It's so safe and secure there and there's such flexibility when it comes to lots of things, nothing is ever too much hassle there. We love it and wouldn't change nursery for anything.

Best nursery ever. The staff is always amazing, helpful and so supportive.
My 2-year-old loves it and he has learned so much!
You can follow anything they do through the app and for any problem you can always speak to a member of staff.
Can’t thank them enough for all they do for my little boy.

I moved my daughter from another local nursery where she was unhappy. The experience with Co-op Bodyshop Nursery has been completely different for all the right reasons! My daughter is safe, happy and valued as a member of the nursery community. She is excited to go on her 'nursery days' and loves telling
me about all the various activities that they get up to throughout the day, and the friends that she plays with. She is flourishing in the environment; I am seeing her language skills, confidence and development come on in leaps and bounds. The staff genuinely care about the children and make every effort to get to know their interests and incorporate that into their learning. Their Parentzone app is brilliant, keeps us informed as parents throughout the day as well as monthly detailed observations which show how my daughter is progressing. The outdoor space is a real asset and I like the fact that the age groups are well separated. It's a great nursery!

My son absolutely loves his days at nursery and I'm really beginning to see him develop at home based on everything he has learnt at nursery! The variation of food my son gets is great and they have helped him to try new foods which I have failed on at home so I'm very thankful for that.

My daughter moved to this preschool from a different one, where I wasn't happy with Ofsted's report. She has settled in amazingly. The staff have taken the time to get to know her and her family situation as well. They have supported us both with this. They have also taken on board areas that I wanted
to work on with my daughter's development, e.g. pen control and in a short space of time I have noticed a real difference. My daughter will be a young school starter and I feel confident that this preschool will prepare her well for starting next September. The staff are lovely, engaging with my daughter and myself, supportive, kind and caring. I have no issues leaving her in their care. She always comes homes full of beans after having productive days filled with fun and learning! The food is good, all cooked on site, which I like with a good variety of meals. The team have been amazing and my daughter talks about them all the time at home.

I don't even know where to begin! My daughter has been doing two mornings a week for over a year now, when she first started she was so nervous and everyone from reception to the kitchen to the people running the room were amazing and did all they could to make her feel welcome and like she was a part
of the preschool family!
My daughter is dairy intolerant but with the help from the staff has never felt like she's missing out, they communicate effectively and keep you updated with all progress. I can't thank you all enough and we will miss you.

Very happy with the nursery. My child is happy. Staff are all lovely. Couldn’t fault anything apart from the gardens could do with some work. That’s the only thing I think needs improvement. Everything else is amazing. My child is lucky to be going to your nursery. He will miss it very much when he
goes to school.

My daughter started at this nursery in January and absolutely loves it. She has been made to feel welcome from the beginning and clearly really enjoys it because when I tell her it is a nursery afternoon she wants to go straightaway. She is always happy to go and excited when she comes back (as well
as very tired from her time there). There seems to be a good mix of activities and also a good amount of outdoor play which is perfect for our active little one.

My son started at this nursery in October 2020, when he was 7-months-old. Due to lockdown, he hadn't mixed with other children. He has come on leaps and bounds since attending the nursery and there are so many great activities during the day.

Initially, my daughter would be very anxious on her first few days. But, the teachers made her more welcoming and she felt she’s belong to the place. She would always talk about her experience at the nursery at home and be looking forward to going to the nursery. The place itself is full of learning
stuff and made her more interested to come to each session. The communication is very effective too for us parents as we were updated every single time in the parents hub. The teachers are brilliant and very qualified and competent in what they do.

Overall, the nursery is very impressive, the staff are mostly very nice and polite. My daughter has been coming to the nursery for almost 10 months and loves it, they are constantly outside exploring and have a great play area as well as an outside nature area to learn from. The one bugbear that I have
is that within the small print they state that bank holidays are charged even though the nursery is closed which I feel is disgusting. So I end up paying for 8 days a year that the nursery is closed for and my child can not attend. At over £50 a day that is a good £400 that is wasted going into the Co-op's back pocket. Shame on them!
Reply from The Co-operative Childcare Team, Customer Service at Co-op Childcare LittlehamptonThank you for your review. Please be assured that the decision to charge for bank holidays is not one that has been made lightly. In order to provide sustainable childcare, we have to ensure that our parent's fees cover the cost of the childcare provided. On bank holidays we still have to cover all of our normal costs such as the cost of our colleague's wages, in much the same way that the majority of our working parents will be paid for the bank holidays.
As a Co-operative any profit we make only goes towards re-investment in our business, the local community or in the dividend vouchers that are paid out to all of our members, including our parent members. We don't have greedy shareholders taking large dividends from us like other providers. Although we are not profit-driven, we do have to make sure that our nurseries are sustainable so we are able to continue to run them.

Faultless nursery. My daughter loves going to nursery, this nursery includes lots of things that you had to pay extra for in others. e.g. suncream, hot lunches, snacks. They have great communication with the parents through email and the parent app, keeping me informed about what she is doing throughout
the day, what she had to eat, how long she naps for etc. She comes home saying/understanding new things. They do lots of messy play, which is something we don't tend to do much of at home. Lots of outdoor activities in the gardens, Highly recommend!

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.993)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.993) out of 10 for Co-op Childcare Littlehampton is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.993 for Co-op Childcare Littlehampton is calculated as follows: ( (274 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 276 Ratings = 4.993
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Co-op Childcare Littlehampton is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 111 number of registered child places is 22.2, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
