Lime Grove Day Nursery is a purpose-built nursery offering high-quality care and education to children aged six weeks to five years. Friendly and well-established, Lime Grove provides a happy, sociable environment where individual care is prioritised.

Outside is a large, fully enclosed and well-equipped garden with a nature area to encourage wild life, a playhouse, climbing frames, a vegetable garden and a restful sensory area. Understanding the significance of outdoor play, the nursery ensures daily access to this space.

The nursery is proud to have achieved an Eco Schools Green Flag Award.

Lime Grove also offer the extracurricular activity of Tiny Mites every Friday between 10am and 11am.

Our son has been attending the nursery for 3 years and overall we are very happy with how he has been looked after.
The nursery is very well run, it's very efficient and consistent in terms of approach. The nursery teachers are very professional, some are very personable and really get to know the
children.
One recommendation we would make for improvement is to try to make it more fun for preschoolers. I think the nursery is very focused on getting them ready for school in the last year and ensuring they learn the letters and the numbers etc and while I appreciate this is important, I think finding the balance is key, so children look forward to coming more. We have observed the enthusiasm for going to nursery dropping in pre-school.
Overall, our son has built great friendships which is a compliment to nursery for providing a kind environment, he has lots of friends and really likes his key worker and also other nursery teachers. We would recommend this nursery to friends.

I have 2 children at this nursery and it is fantastic. The staff are genuinely interested and really care for the children as individuals. The facilities are spacious and there is a lovely, large outdoor garden as well as smaller areas for outdoor play off each room. They have different themed activities
each week and a big rotation of sensory play activities and lots of singing time for the little ones. Food is nutritionally balanced and varied. It is expensive compared to other nurseries but you get what you pay for and I would recommend it to anyone.

Our daughter has attended Lime Grove since she was 2 1/2 years right up to leaving for school. They have been consistently reassuring even across the pandemic and managed to provide wonderful care and quality development. My daughter speaks so fondly of the staff and the communication between the carers
and parents is so helpful and regular. I know she will sorely miss everyone at Lime Grove. Our daughter can already write as well at this with the tutoring of Lime Grove.

I can't recommend Lime Grove Day Nursery (Hemel Hempstead) enough. They have looked after my daughter since she was ten months old and have always been on hand to help with the transitioning to new rooms and new staff. The reception staff and management staff are very approachable and nothing is ever
too much trouble. The staff that are with my daughter every day, take the time to get to know her and will happily tailor activities to her needs. The outside garden space is excellent, it truly is the best I've seen anywhere.

My daughter started in bumblebees, the staff are amazing and friendly she settled in really well. We have recently moved to preschool and the staff are again welcoming and friendly.
The outdoor space is really good as my daughter is an outdoor kind of girl.
The menu Provides a good variety for a balanced
diet.
Despite the Covid pandemic and restrictions, the nursery has implemented safe measures extremely well.
She always comes out happy, highly recommend the Nursery

Best choice for my daughter She settled so quickly in June, all the staff are so friendly and helpful.

We couldn't be happier with this nursery. My son absolutely loves being there, the staff are extremely friendly and professional. He settled in no time. I was really worried about leaving him for full days but I know he is safe, happy and loved. Highly recommend.

My son has attended Lime Grove since before he turned one and we have been extremely pleased with the nursery and pre-school. Communication is always excellent and their handling of the COVID situation has been exemplary. There is a lovely outdoor space for the children to enjoy and activities are always
varied - eco-friendliness and inclusion high on the agenda. Mealtimes are also healthy and varied. Staff are friendly and engaging and we would highly recommend.

As a keyworker (both of us are keyworkers), my son has been able to continue attending nursery. This has made a great difference and we are very grateful Lime Grove stayed open. Despite it being an unsettling time, my son has thrived in their care and actually enjoyed the nursery more than normal. He
is very lucky to be in such a position. He is almost having one to one care by people who know him and making new friends. Care has been taken to tailor activities to his needs and his style of learning has gone above and beyond to ensure he is happy (even with dinosaur treats) and he has mastered many new skills as a doctor and paramedic saving people from the virus!

Our eldest child attended Lime Grove from 8 months to 3+ years and was very happy there. His development, especially at a young age was very good, helped by the activities and learning taking place at Lime Grove. Our two youngest children have also attended and enjoyed their time there. Staff are warm,
personable and the senior members especially are very good at their jobs. We were very happy with the overall Lime Grove experience and have recommended it to others.

Our son attended Lime Grove full-time from the age of two until he started school. He enjoyed his time at nursery very much and has developed into a confident and inquisitive boy. His teachers have always gone the extra mile to care for him and engage him in a great variety of activities and projects.
We appreciated the daily feedback, regular reports and frequent picture updates via the app.
We do, however, feel that there has been a steady increase in staff turnover and a decline in staff happiness over the recent months. This resulted in a high use of agency staff, which, in turn, put an extra burden on the Lime Grove staff and required the most experienced staff to do other duties, such as manning the front desk and cooking the meals.
We would like to take the opportunity to formally thank the staff at Lime Grove for their care and partnership.

Lime Grove is a fantastic, friendly, caring nursery. My son has been coming here since he was six months old and he absolutely loves it. He's had a great experience and a close relationship with his key worker in each room and it's been wonderful to see his friendships grow and develop over the last

My son went to this nursery for 2 years. From 3-4 years he was crying all the time because it was his first period without me, but the staff were very nice and they tried to make him feel very welcome. In the second year it was more than fine, he learned the language, he made a lot of friends and learned

Kelly is the Manager of Lime Grove Day Nursery in Hemel Hempstead and has a wealth of experience, having worked at Childbase for 22 years. Kelly has a Level 3 qualification in their Early Years.


What is your favourite part of working at Lime Grove?
I would say our garden is my favourite feature - people are often 'wowed' by it as they don’t expect it to be so big. Each room has its own free-flow garden which is amazing and another great space for the children.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
I'm very proud of my team's approach and the amazing bonds that they form with their key children and families.
