Lime Grove Day Nursery is a purpose-built nursery offering high-quality care and education to children aged six weeks to five years. Friendly and well-established, Lime Grove provides a happy, sociable environment where individual care is prioritised.

Outside is a large, fully enclosed and well-equipped garden with a nature area to encourage wild life, a playhouse, climbing frames, a vegetable garden and a restful sensory area. Understanding the significance of outdoor play, the nursery ensures daily access to this space.

The nursery is proud to have achieved an Eco Schools Green Flag Award.

Lime Grove also offer the extracurricular activity of Tiny Mites every Friday between 10am and 11am.

Lime Grove is an excellent nursery! Staff are great, lovely and enthusiastic. My little one, who used to cry at the first days, is now happy to attend and always looks forward to going, and very attached to staff. She also loves the food there. Staff are really professional and teaching kids to be independent
and doing a great job on this, with lots of activities which we can see also from the online website, with photos and comments from the staff. I highly recommend this nursery!

All 3 of my children have used Lime Grove over the last 6 years. The nursery is now better than ever. Strong leadership and a great team. My children are happy and love attending. The facilities are great and I would not hesitate in recommending Lime Grove.

Lime Grove is a great nursery. Staff are fantastic and I always know that my child will learn and enjoy his day. He feels safe in the nursery and is very attached to staff. Staff encourage children to be more independent and prepare them well for school. There are well-structured activities planned
for each day which varies each week. The food is made on site and my son loves the food here. The meals look delicious. My favourite bit is the fantastic array of activities planned for celebration festivals. We have regular photo shoots, a trip to panto, old people's Christmas party and many other events organised regularly. It's more expensive than other nurseries but entire cost is justified for what you get.

We were welcomed around the nursery and we felt instantly that this would be our chosen nursery for our son. The staff genuinely care about the children and with healthy tasty meals, plentiful stimulated toys and activities daily, you couldn't ask for more from a nursery. You leave your child at a young
age, for quite a large amount of time with people you don't know at the beginning. So it's important that you trust the staff and nursery, in general, to care for your child like you would at home and Lime Grove delivers this standard.

Both my girls have had great care whilst at Lime Grove. The facilities are fantastic and the staff friendly, helpful and caring. Lime Grove always put on lovely summer fetes and Christmas parties and put a lot of effort and their own time into these. The ladies from pre-school have been exceptionally
good as well as another lady from Ladybirds and a gentleman in Bumble Bees. My only negative is the admin side at the reception. Arrangements I have made in the past have been forgotten and emails about finances have not been responded to.

I have previously experienced several nurseries/day-care provisions and I can honestly say Lime Grove stands head and shoulders above the rest. Every member of staff is caring and attentive (even the staff not in my son's room acknowledge him by name) and you never get the impression that looking after
children is just their job, but a genuine vocation.
The toys and learning aids are imaginative and used very creatively and are well maintained and updated regularly. My child really looks forward to attending each session and comes home visibly excited, educated and exhausted! (In a good way!).

My child attends pre-school in the nursery and has thrived in this setting as well as all the other ones she has experienced at this nursery. The recent focus on school and art has been great for school and played to her strengths, interests and focus areas. My child's key worker is great with her,
giving time to be independent and happy whist always knowing she is there to guide and care. Thank you for everything and most of all looking after my precious daughter so well.

So pleased with Lime Grove. We were new to the area and I don't think I could've found a better nursery. The staff are friendly and know all the children by name. They look after the children in a fun, safe environment and the key workers have a real focus on my child's personal development. My daughter
loves it there, especially the big outside space, and always looks forward to going.

Daughter attended since one years old (now over three years). Always been an environment that she loved coming to. The staff have given amazing support to daughter and family as a whole. Whenever need extra support (sessions) they always were there to help. When needed on call support for arrival of
baby brother the staff expressed that they would be available to support us. They always challenged and adapted to daughters individual needs and milestones. We will be sad to leave when heading off to school. Thank you!

The team at Lime Grove are wonderful. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they always welcome us with a smile,. We've been coming her since I went back to work and began our nursery journey in the baby room, we're now soon to leave pre-school and it feels like visiting family everyday.

I have 2 children attending the nursery. My eldest has been coming for almost 3 years. All of the nursery staff are exceptional. Since day one I have felt confident that my children are being well cared for, well fed, stimulated and kept safe. The golden values are a great idea and help to teach the

My six month old baby boy started at the nursery at six weeks old and I couldn't be happier with the care and support we have both been given right from the very start from everybody. His key person has been absolutely amazing at settling him in and reassuring me and answering any questions I had. I
feel that when I take him into the baby room she is as excited to see him as he is her. All the staff are friendly and professional and couldn't do enough for us. The nursery has excellent resources, an amazing garden, lovely freshly cooked food and the staffs knowledge about childcare is brilliant. I am confident my son is getting the best childcare possible. His key person plans for his individual needs and development assuring that he has everything he needs to help him progress. I am looking forward to seeing the journey he is going to make at such and outstanding nursery.

My daughter has been at Lime Grove since she was 12 months old and is now just turning 3. She was a very shy girl who was sad at being separated but the Lime Grove staff and setting made her feel secure and safe, and she is happy and joins in with all the activities now. The daily feedback from staff
is detailed and gives me a brilliant picture of her day at nursery. Her key worker is always brilliant and helpful and her learning journey is updated and a great read. The food provided is always eaten up. We love Lime Grove!

Kelly is the Manager of Lime Grove Day Nursery in Hemel Hempstead and has a wealth of experience, having worked at Childbase for 22 years. Kelly has a Level 3 qualification in their Early Years.


What is your favourite part of working at Lime Grove?
I would say our garden is my favourite feature - people are often 'wowed' by it as they don’t expect it to be so big. Each room has its own free-flow garden which is amazing and another great space for the children.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
I'm very proud of my team's approach and the amazing bonds that they form with their key children and families.
