Your Co-op Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-school Reading is right in the heart of Reading city centre, within walking distance of the train station and their nursery is set in a beautiful, charismatic listed church building with four spacious rooms, one for each age group.

Their ParentZone app keeps mums and dads informed about life at nursery with photos from their day, assessments, meals eaten and even toilet training progress! They use their 5 Little Pioneers to help share their core values with children such as encouraging them to be independent to making a difference in the world.

The nursery team are big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained. The nursery is also silver eco schools accredited, a programme that sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver big environmental differences.

They are big on happy children which is why they have an area for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to local care homes and take care of each other and the world.

The nursery has its own garden area, which is well equipped including a children's playhouse and slide. There is also a wooden shelter to provide shade and cover and to ensure that children can access the outdoors in all weather conditions.

We recommend this nursery to people all the time.
My two boys have been there since they were 7 months old and 10 months old (now 3 and 5). They've absolutely loved it there, and I've always been really impressed by the staff and all their various activities. The pre-school environment is particularly
good and really prepares them for school. It has really long opening hours and is close to the station so absolutely perfect for commuters.

My son has been in nursery for just over 2 years and is in his third room at Co-op Nursery, Reading. All staff have been amazing throughout; friendly and personable. It's good to know he is having fun and is happy but also, that great care is taken to ensure their development is on target. The general
day to day care is excellent.
It's always lovely to see the colourful display boards (which are regularly updated) showing the good range of activities the children experience. I think it is particularly wonderful how the nursery partners with a care home, which I understand has benefits for both adults and children. I love the fact that this kind of caring is demonstrated to children from such a young age. The eco-project also offers the children values which will help guide them to do the right thing.
Most of the staff have remained the same which is always a good sign and gives the impression of a huge family environment.

My son has been at the nursery for 10 months now and just loves it. All of the team members are fantastic and help him transition through developmental stages, moving up to a new room and generally learning lots of new skills. Everyone has a lovely energy and the children are treated with love and respect.
So
happy with this choice of nursery and wouldn’t change it one bit.

I am really happy with the services provided by The Co-operative Childcare.
My daughter joined the nursery when she was 2 years old. Although chatty at home, she would be quiet and a bit uncomfortable in anybody's company other than parents. I have seen a drastic change in her nature. She is very
comfortable with everyone now, loves going to the nursery, and has become more expressive and unreserved now...All thanks to the nursery. I am very happy with her development and learning. Truly a haven for kids while we parents are at work.

My daughter started this nursery when she was 9 months old and she is now 2 1/2. I knew from the first visit that this was the place for her. It’s a home from home, the staff are very nurturing and she always has a lot of fun. Every member of the nursery team are caring and you rarely see children
upset, very happy faces. The food is cooked on site and seems to go down well. So much fun was had recently when the weather was hot, staff put on a beach day with inflatables and water which looked like so much fun. I would highly recommend this nursery for any child from baby to toddler.

I have two children at the Co-operative Childcare Reading Nursery and my eldest is just about to finish pre-school. The nursery and pre-school is excellent. The staff are caring, knowledgeable and very child focused. They take the children out on visits to various parks in Reading, on the bus to feed
the ducks or the farm. One of my favourite activities they do is the partnership they have with a local nursing home. My daughter loves going to do crafts and singing with the older people. The building is deceptively big inside and although the outside space is smaller than other nurseries, they more than make for it by visiting nearby Forbury Gardens on a regular basis. Being so close to the station they are well used to commuting parents and the long opening hours (07:30 - 18:30) are great. They have a varied and balanced menu which they cook on site. They have managed my child's allergy extremely well, ensuring that she doesn't miss out. Both of my children are flourishing here and love going.

We had a good feeling about this nursery as soon as we visited, and our instincts were well founded. The staff are kind, helpful and caring, the meals are prepared on site and the nursery is well equipped with good security and great facilities. If anything, the quality of the nursery has only improved
since our daughter has attended here, and I am delighted that our second daughter is able to follow in her sister's footsteps here.

When I first visited the Nursery I knew this is it. Staff are very friendly, supportive and caring which is the most important of all. My daughter loves being there and to her, it is like another family. It’s been almost two years now and I have had no complaints at all. My daughter is learning and

We are very happy with the work they do in pre-school, a very good blend of learning activities and play, and the teachers are also attentive to the emotional development of the children. I have been using the Co-op Reading Day Nursery for over 4 years now and the attention, care and support given to my children to aid their overall development has been wonderful. Each key person takes out the time to update me on the day to day development and doings of my kids. Every child is unique
and the appropriate care is put in place to cater for such need.


I would not say it's cheap or expensive but I would say when you pay your fees, you see the value for money and more.


The team in Reading are great and they make the kids feel very welcome when they come into the nursery with the kids not minding the fact that their parents are dropping them off (babies) to go to work.


I will highly recommend the nursery to family and friends because l have experienced all stages of the nursery from the baby room to the pre-school room and l have not been disappointed.

My daughter is almost getting to her third birthday and I have been very worried about potty training. My daughter's key worker has so far done a great job getting her to want to use the potty more and that is without much effort from me. I am very pleased with the progress my daughter is making especially
with her speech and communication and as a parent, it is great to know that she is in a nursery which helps to develop the children in those areas of concern.


My daughter is very happy there and there is nothing better than that to put your mind at ease when you leave them to go off to work. I am very satisfied with the general level of communication between the nursery and parents and also when issues specifically relate to my child. I have never had any reason to be unhappy with the care my child is being given.

Co-operative Nursery Reading is excellent from the moment I drop my child off, to the time I pick him up. The parent zone updates throughout the day which is a great addition this year. For parents to keep in contact. Makes my day at work easier to know how my child is doing the updates are fantastic
and is a credit to those staff in the nursery particularly butterflies who make the time to do this for the parents. Both my children have attended the nursery and I can honestly say it is an amazing place. My son comes home every day telling me everything he has done and has developed so well.

We are very satisfied with our nursery for our daughter as she really enjoys going in. The staff are extremely nice and they take a very good care of the children. My only suggestion would be about de food menu, as they could offer a bigger variety, and for snack time too.
