Your Co-op Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-school Reading is right in the heart of Reading city centre, within walking distance of the train station and their nursery is set in a beautiful, charismatic listed church building with four spacious rooms, one for each age group.

Their ParentZone app keeps mums and dads informed about life at nursery with photos from their day, assessments, meals eaten and even toilet training progress! They use their 5 Little Pioneers to help share their core values with children such as encouraging them to be independent to making a difference in the world.

The nursery team are big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained. The nursery is also silver eco schools accredited, a programme that sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver big environmental differences.

They are big on happy children which is why they have an area for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to local care homes and take care of each other and the world.

The nursery has its own garden area, which is well equipped including a children's playhouse and slide. There is also a wooden shelter to provide shade and cover and to ensure that children can access the outdoors in all weather conditions.

Our daughter started attending the baby room when she was 8 months old. Initially, we were very anxious about her nursery attendance, but the staff in the baby room were very caring and helpful. Her key worker was especially attentive and our daughter felt very comfortable around her. Her key worker
was always responsive whenever we had any questions or concerns. Our daughter's transition to Caterpillars was very smooth and we are happy to see how she is progressing in her development and making friends with other toddlers. We are excited about the newly refurbished facilities in the nursery. We can't wait to see how they will enhance the learning and play experiences of our child and other children in the nursery.

I can't put into words how satisfied I am with this nursery and all of the staff here. Each room has so much interaction with my child on a daily basis, she's getting to know everybody and other children. This is a second home for her, she has bonded with all the staff in her room it's so wholesome
to see. As a parent, there is no better assurance than dropping my child off and she runs into the arms of the staff happily waving bye to me. I know she is extremely well taken care of every day. The cost is high but considering what she gets from going here I would work 2 jobs if I had to. It is invaluable. Her growth already she's not even here a year yet. It's not all about my child though as a first-time mum I sometimes struggle and the support that I receive too is second to none.

What a great and well-run nursery! From day one, they took special care of him. He has a milk allergy and I was initially scared that they would struggle to ensure he didn't get any dairy in. But they really took great care with this without splitting him from the group. The people working there have
kept me up to date with daily updates through their app which I appreciate!

The carers at this nursery are genuinely kind and loving with the kids, my little one loves being there, she runs up to them with big open arms! The meals offered are balanced and healthy. My heart is at peace when I drop off her there.

My daughter started at the end of February and she is getting on really well,
She settled really well, she has multiple allergies but the nursery has been very accommodating the kitchen is clean and organised and they have a fabulous colour-coded set-up for meal times so it is clear that there are
no mix-ups of who is given what.
This really sets my mind at ease as with a childminder my daughter was often given things she wasn’t allowed which then caused reactions.
She has made an amazing bond with the staff in her room, the management team are always on hand to help with anything, can’t fault it!
Super happy so far.
I can’t wait to see the rest of her adventure here!

We are really pleased with this nursery. Our child is very happy there, both room transitions (up from the Ladybird to the Caterpillar and now Butterfly rooms) have been handled smoothly and all of their key workers have been excellent. We're happy with the level of communication we get from the nursery
and feel that the staff have taken the time to get to know our child. Whilst the outside space is small (4 stars), our child always enjoys it and there is soft play (an 'indoor garden') for when it's wet. We plan to send our second child there soon!

Generally, we are happy about the nursery, in particular, the staff in the baby room are fantastic but there are a few issues in the higher rooms:
- It would be good if the children in higher rooms could have more outings beyond the garden as we were told when we signed up for this nursery.
- Children
should have the opportunity to brush their teeth after breakfast or lunch as recommended by dentists (twice a day after meals). Otherwise, their dental health is at risk which is not Ok. Older children (butterfly-pre-school) should be independent with this activity which would require minimal staff supervision and parents can provide toothbrushes and toothpaste.
- It is difficult for us parents to know how many portions of fruits and vegs the children had during the day because the meal updates are usually brief and because we don't know what they had for snack. It would be helpful at the end of the day to know for each child how many portions of fruit and vegs they had.

Every single day the girls in the ladybirds and caterpillar rooms make such an effort with my daughter. You can tell by how excited my 15-month-old is to see them! The girls in the ladybird room in particular take such a vested interest in her and her well-being and development. Plus, they're wonderful,
kind, friendly and all-around great people that I couldn't be more pleased are looking after my child!

We’ve been so happy with the nursery. Our son absolutely loves it. When we first visited the Caterpillar Room, we just knew that our daughter would thrive there - and she did! She started nursery at 1 year and 7months old and we were so thankful for our amazing caregiver, who gave us confidence in the nursery. Our daughter really excelled in the room - especially
developing physically (climbing, jumping, etc). After 6 months, she went to Butterflies - and couldn't have been happier there! With another fabulous carer, she discovered her love of puzzles and socialising. We spent all of lockdown reliving her special moments in Butterflies. She returned to nursery moving up into preschool. More terrific carers - and our daughter is full of stories of adventure, pirates, parties, and messy play! The nursery is open, approachable, hardworking and a special place for little ones to become their own person. Soon we will go to reception, and miss our days at the Nursery. Thank you all!

Our son loves nursery. He plays, he learns and he always has a good time. The staff are great. He has progressed from the baby room through to caterpillars and now butterflies (2-3 years) and will shortly move up to preschool (3+ years). Our daughter will start in the baby room later this year. The
nursery has been open throughout the pandemic and all the staff have done a fantastic job keeping the environment enjoyable and fulfilling for the children.

All the staff are super friendly and my little one absolutely loves attending nursery! They offer so much in a way of learning that I couldn't possibly do myself. My daughter always comes home talking about how much fun she had at nursery and all the things she played with. Her favourite thing to do
is play in the inside garden and in the home corner. Can't fault this nursery at all and will always recommend it to my friends and family.

Co-op Childcare Reading is a fantastic nursery and we are so pleased we decided to take our daughter there. The staff are extremely professional, friendly and look after the kids in the best possible way. Our daughter is happy to go to nursery every morning and is always interested in the activities
they are doing. She has developed so much during her time there and it's very reassuring for us that she enjoys every single day.
The only downside is the limited outdoor space but I feel it's a good compromise to make compared to the overall care the kids get. In normal (pre-Covid) times the kids are taken to the park or nearby places though so they get to explore other places too.
I would definitely recommend Co-op Childcare to anyone looking for a friendly nursery in town!

We are so pleased with Co-op Childcare Reading. Both our children love it, they are clearly well looked after and our kids love the staff.
Throughout Covid the nursery has done its best to keep things as ‘normal’ as possible for the kids and having nursery open since last June has been a wonderful

My baby has been going to Co-op Childcare Reading since September 2020 and we have consistently been happy with her development, the activities proposed and how well she has been looked after.
She is always happy to go there and believe has improved massively in her skills.
All staff is very competent

Absolutely brilliant nursery in the centre of town, I've been very pleased with the dedication of the team and the great thought they put into supporting the kids with all sorts of activities and focus on learning. Our daughter loves the nursery and staff, and we know she is getting a lot of attention,
carefully thought out investment into her learning as well as high quality food and plenty of outdoors time. I really love that they also encourage lots of discussion with the children, and also use this to lead the activities and focus in different areas they are interested in, for example theme days, learning about space etc. Strongly recommend this nursery, we've been really happy and feel our daughter is getting well prepared for school coming up.
