Woodberry Day Nursery is a substantial property, converted to create an 86 place day nursery of the highest quality.

Much of the character has been retained to provide spacious and interesting rooms with first class childcare facilities. The staff are experienced and well qualified ensuring Woodberry is a happy, sociable environment where every child is treated as an individual. They have also obtained their Green Flag Eco-Schools Award.

Woodberry has been designed with four main playrooms with additional sleeping and play areas. Outside there is a fully enclosed and attractively laid out garden. The environment gives children the opportunity to both learn and play in secure surroundings.

Woodberry also offer the extracurricular activity of Debutots every 2 weeks on a Monday between 10-11am for the Ladybirds and Bumblebees room. As well as this, they offer the Preschool room Kidslingo every 2 weeks on a Friday between 10- 11am, and a tennis coach who attends every 2 weeks on a Thursday afternoon.

My daughter has loved all her time at Woodberry, from joining at 12 months old through to pre-school. The staff are warm, caring and excellent at providing stimulating activities for the children at all ages. We're looking forward to our son joining them next year.

My 2 year old grandson started at Woodberry Nursery and has settled well after some tears at the beginning. He goes for 3 mornings as his parents and myself work. I have been impressed with the staff who work in the 2-3 year old room. They give feedback and reassurance and I feel they show care for
my grandson and all the children. They put out interesting activities and he plays outside every session for some of the morning. Overall, a positive experience.

My son started at Woodberry in April 2016, 2 afternoons a week before going 3 days full time in September 2016 when I went back to work. The acceleration in his speech since then has been fantastic. The staff there are fantastic, especially my son's key worker who he absolutely adores. He is just so
happy there. He plays well, sleeps well, behaves (all the things he is less likely to do at home) and eats well. He is thriving at Woodberry and has become far more outgoing in the last 3 months. He plays better with other children outside of nursery and is well mannered and shows good emotional understanding which is definitely down to the great team at Woodberry. They all enjoy the job which you can see in their eyes.

My daughter has been attending for over 2 years now. We couldn't be happier as parents. The standard of care is very high. Everyone is caring and very interested and involved. My son has been at Woodberry Day Nursery for the past 3 years. Our experience of care has been mixed but on the whole very good. His last year in preschool has been particularly good which we really think has a lot to do with his key carer. She has built a fantastic relationship with both our son and
his parents. She has really brought out all the positives in our sons development, so much more than other key carers in earlier years.

Lovely bright and friendly staff who love the babies. My daughter lights up as soon as she sees them! Lots of educational activities and messy play which my daughter has fun taking part in every week. The staff were very supportive with my return to work and helped me do a phased return to work. My 2 year old son has been attending the nursery since Oct 2014. From the moment I stepped into the nursery, I have never seen a member of staff with a grumpy or unhelpful attitude. Staff are always smiling and always willing to help. The manager, deputy manager, team leader and key worker have been
absolutely amazing. My son absolutely adores his key worker. I'm really happy with the progress my son has made since he joined, and would definitely recommend to others.

Laura Grace

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2025

Laura is the Nursery Manager at Woodberry Day Nursery in Winchmore Hill. She has worked with Childbase for just over eight years, gaining experience across both Hertford-based nurseries. Laura holds a Level Six qualification in Early Years and has held roles including Team Lead and, most recently, Deputy Manager, bringing a wealth of expertise to her current role.


What is your favourite feature of Woodberry?
My favourite feature of our nursery is our beautiful rooms, which all celebrate the uniqueness of not only the children, families, but also the staff who work within the setting.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
I am most proud of how my team continues to provide excellent childcare every day.
