Woodberry Day Nursery is a substantial property, converted to create an 86 place day nursery of the highest quality.

Much of the character has been retained to provide spacious and interesting rooms with first class childcare facilities. The staff are experienced and well qualified ensuring Woodberry is a happy, sociable environment where every child is treated as an individual. They have also obtained their Green Flag Eco-Schools Award.

Woodberry has been designed with four main playrooms with additional sleeping and play areas. Outside there is a fully enclosed and attractively laid out garden. The environment gives children the opportunity to both learn and play in secure surroundings.

Woodberry also offer the extracurricular activity of Debutots every 2 weeks on a Monday between 10-11am for the Ladybirds and Bumblebees room. As well as this, they offer the Preschool room Kidslingo every 2 weeks on a Friday between 10- 11am, and a tennis coach who attends every 2 weeks on a Thursday afternoon.

My son has attended Woodberry Day Nursery for two years; in this time he has developed beyond recognition in every way!


The staff have encouraged, fed his curiosity with stimulating activities, coped with sudden illnesses with care and dedication; too much is never an issue with all the staff.

I feel 100 % supported by the whole Woodberry team and I feel that I can approach them with ease and confidence at any time.


My son is thriving in every way...they have exceeded my expectations.

The nursery itself is a friendly and warm environment that serves to offer real nurturing and development. My son is making good progress socially and whilst he is not in preschool yet, really good foundations are being set to ensure confidence academically.

My son has attended Woodbury Day Nursery since he was 1 and was welcomed warmly and with so much love and care. It took him a few weeks to settle, however the staff were exceptional in taking time with him and making him comfortable. As first time parents, we weren't sure what to expect and the staff
were great at explaining their routines and making my husband and I feel comfortable and happy with the care he was getting. He's formed such special bonds with each keyworker he has had. We were able to call every day for an update and with the ParentZone updates, we could see what our son was doing. It really helped us feel closer to our son. Management have been fantastic, they are at hand throughout the day and are respond efficiently to all queries. There are so many activities that have helped him develop so much further than we expected. He is such a well rounded and happy boy and we can only thank Woodberry for all they have done.

Both of my children are cared for by the staff at Woodberry and they are very happy there. My daughter is in the preschool room and since being in there and working with staff, her confidence, letter recognition, vocabulary and maths skills have improved massively.
Woodberry provide food fresh for
the kids which has been cooked in house by their staff, they are very accommodating and given my kids are vegetarian, they get a lot of variety and not just the same foods again and again.
My son is in the room for children between one and two and again the room staff are just as fantastic with him and he leaves so happy.
I have to say being a full time working mum that when my babies are at Woodberry I literally have nothing to worry about as I know they are engaged in activities and looked after by amazing and patient staff. The ladies in charge are fantastic and often go above and beyond to accommodate changes which is really appreciated.

My son has attended Woodberry Nursery since he was 2, starting in bumblebees where they did an excellent job of settling him into the nursery including ensuring he had a buddy group of friends to help him adjust. He is now in preschool and thriving there both socially and with the more traditional academic
areas such as Phonics. The nursery offer such a diverse remit of activities that he is never bored and challenged to learn new activities such as Spanish and sports in a fun and engaging way.
I am very happy with the care he is given in the nursery and the way the staff always make my son feel at home and comfortable to thrive and develop.

Our son has attended Woodberry since he was 13 months old and throughout his time there, from the baby room through to pre-school, he has formed a bond with his key workers and made great friends. Woodberry offer a broad range of educational activities including Spanish, music lessons and various sports
activities, and an impressively healthy menu. The staff are really invested in the children and have helped our son develop, both emotionally and educationally.

Our daughter really enjoys her time at Woodberry and has made many friends. The diverse range of activities and weekly themes keep her stimulated and ensure there is no monotony. The practitioners are very caring and seem to understand the range of child personalities in the rooms, tailoring their

My daughter has been attending Woodberry for nearly 18 months and absolutely loves it! The staff in the rooms are fantastic and the management are great. The nursery has a lovely atmosphere, very welcoming and all the children seem really happy and settled. Facilities are great, especially in preschool
where they have lots of space and easy access to the garden. I’m always amazed at how many activities they do, including Spanish, yoga and a music class. Parents get regular feedback through their online learning system where we can see pictures of what they’ve been doing and read about their development in more detail. Staff are great at working with parents to ensure the children are settled and the key worker system works well. I would highly recommend Woodberry for all ages.

My son has been attending Woodberry since he was 14 months old. My husband and I are extremely happy with the care he receives. The staff are very attentive and collaborative. They work with us on a daily basis to ensure that my son is receiving both the best of care in a nurturing environment and a
rich learning experience, in preparation for early school assessments and his own personal development. I have found management to be excellent and hands-on leadership is key to ensuring success in this environment. The staff care very much and their passion and commitment is evidential in all that they do. I have received educational learning plans on a weekly basis which allows me to match my son's learning at home. I get accurate reports on food consumption and wellbeing and good observations on parent-zone to allow me to see what he is doing in his day. If I have questions, the staff are always on hand to help and it is an efficient yet personal service. Highly recommend.

What can I say?


Both of our children attended Woodberry. From the moment they started and until the day they left they loved it. The staff are so caring and nurturing and my children have learnt so much more than I could ever teach them at home.
They were both well prepared for school life throughout

their Woodberry journey. Even now the children talk about staff members and activities at the nursery.


You have left a lasting impression on all of us.

I have been affiliated with Woodberry child base nursery since Autumn 2010, when my older son joined. We then had a second addition who then joined in the new year of 2015.
Over the last 8 years, we have had an extremely happy and pleasant experience with the nursery. All the staff/key workers, manager,
deputy manager and receptionist always are extremely helpful and have a smile on their face.
Kids have a brilliant, fun filled stimulating day.
The children are so happy when I have gone to pick them up, that they continue playing and don’t want to leave.
Me and my husband have both been very reassured when our children have been at nursery and can’t say enough about what a wonderful time we have had over the years.
I have got to know the staff really well.
And we are quite sad that we are moving on and saying goodbye .
I can wholeheartedly recommend this nursery with no reservations - you will be making the right choice.

Woodberry is a highly effective nursery, with committed and professional staff.


My daughter has attended for 3 years. During this period she has been extremely happy. I have been able to relax knowing that she is receiving the best possible care.


The staff work hard to provide a wide range of

interesting adult led and child initiated learning opportunities. Our key workers have been friendly and supportive of my daughter at every stage of her development.

My daughter started at Woodberry at the age of one. Over the last 12 months, she has grown into a confident happy toddler. At morning drop-off she'll pop her head into the other classrooms to say good morning to the other kids and carers before stepping into her own room, and pulling her chair up to
the table ready for the breakfast of her choice. She is entertained with activities that develop her skills and is always eager to show me around the room at the end of the day to point out the things they've made or played with that day.
The staff both in her room and in the nursery, in general, are great. I feel confident when leaving her with them, that she is in safe and caring hands.
Any issues regarding health or accidents are dealt with quickly and professionally. The menu is varied and my daughter seems to eat everything. It's also helped me out with trying new foods with her as I know she's happily eaten something at nursery.

The nursery staff have helped us grow in confidence as first-time parents and we have found them to be kind, supportive and efficient. Our toddler's social skills and diet have developed and he enjoys time with his key worker and her colleagues, as well as with his peers. They have some great ideas
for new games and creative learning, which we enjoy replicating at home.

My son joined Woodberry Day Nursery in 2016 when he was 12 months old. He has flourished and learnt some vital life skills thanks to the team who have looked after him.
Management take issues raised and feedback very seriously and always act upon them.


I would wholeheartedly recommend this nursery

to other parents and, in particular, commend the enthusiasm, dedication and warmth of all the staff we have got to know. We are regretfully taking our son out of nursery as we are moving and can only hope the care he receives will be as wonderful as he has had.

My daughter had a wonderful few years at Woodberry. She was so happy there that myself and my husband were happy and relaxed that she was in an environment she loved.


All the staff and her key workers have been amazing throughout my daughter's development and will be missed as we move on.


The

activities for the children at Woodberry are always stimulating and fun and my daughter thrived whilst learning new skills.


I would highly recommend Woodberry to anyone looking for childcare, we have been very impressed with the care our child has received here.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2025

Laura is the Nursery Manager at Woodberry Day Nursery in Winchmore Hill. She has worked with Childbase for just over eight years, gaining experience across both Hertford-based nurseries. Laura holds a Level Six qualification in Early Years and has held roles including Team Lead and, most recently, Deputy Manager, bringing a wealth of expertise to her current role.


What is your favourite feature of Woodberry?
My favourite feature of our nursery is our beautiful rooms, which all celebrate the uniqueness of not only the children, families, but also the staff who work within the setting.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
I am most proud of how my team continues to provide excellent childcare every day.
