As our son was born just before UK lockdown in March his interaction with other babies/adults has been limited. We were nervous about him joining nursery but Woodberry have been very patient and understanding in helping him to settle.
We completed a comprehensive form in advance with all of our son's preferences. On the day of his first settle session, the nursery manager took the time to answer a long list of questions I had (it had been a little while since our visit). We met his key worker in the caterpillar room who after each settle session and his first week took the time to give us a thorough update on how he was doing/what he was eating and drinking.
He seems so happy, within a short space of time we can see how settled he is. Many members of the team took time to introduce themselves to us in the first couple of weeks. The nursery have been great in sending regular photo updates, which has given us great comfort in seeing him happy and doing new things.
My daughter started in October. We were slightly nervous given the covid situation and that we were unable to come in and settle her in the way we would usually be able to but the staff, especially all the ladies in the Bumblebee room have been amazing and taken their time to keep us updated and get to know our little one. The settling has been so much easier than we expected and she comes home excited to tell us about her day. For a child who was a little shy particularly not having seen many people through lockdown, this has been so reassuring. I love the daily updates and photos, and meal updates. Overall would really recommend. Thank you to the team.
Our son has just left the Woodberry Preschool room, and we have nothing but praise for the experience we had at Woodberry. Our son was there just over a year, in the preschool room, and had a great experience. The staff are caring and fun, and create a lovely environment for the kids to firstly enjoy themselves and secondly do a bit of learning. The activities and facilities are great, with lots of variety, and the feedback on the kids was thorough and well done. In a difficult year (COVID), the nursery provided excellent care, and we were fully confident in their ability to set in place the necessary policies to protect the staff and the children as best they could. And we also found them very understanding of our change of circumstances and needs for our son's care. In short, we're on the waiting list for the preschool room for our younger son, and we would thoroughly recommend it to anyone else as well.
I’ve been sending children to Woodberry for 14-years and have avoided mum guilt by knowing the kids are happy and secure with staff who care, some of the staff know all my kids, and that level of loyalty from staff is unheard of amongst my friends and other kids at nursery.
I would advise anyone looking for a nursery to use Woodberry.
Our son loves it there, and although there are lots of wonderful things about it (food, facilities, activities etc), the best thing is the people. My son has developed a really close and reciprocal bond with his key worker. This continued all through lockdown and the nearly 3-months where he was unable to attend nursery (missed by us all!) meaning that the transition back was much smoother than expected.
The nursery’s communication with parents has been excellent throughout, and the whole team’s attitude and approach have been great.
Finally, our son has attended throughout the pandemic and we were so impressed with how everything kept going and reassured us that he was in the best environment. We are very grateful to the whole team for what they do.
We were so impressed by how fast our son settled and made friends with the staff.
He loves it there so much that we asked if he could stay after they opened to all their previous children.
Our son continues to thrive under their care. They provide a rich and varied experience through both structured and unstructured play whilst maintaining a lovely caring and safe environment.
We wholeheartedly recommend them for early years care.
She comes home singing rhymes that I know I haven’t taught her and there are many of her favourite books at nursery.
Staff from every room know her by name and she has formed bonds so that when her key workers are not there she is fine.
She usually eats everything from the diverse menu.
Management sends very clear regular communication and are excellent listeners.
Cleaning and hygiene have been prioritised and this is very reassuring.
I feel confident that she is safe and extremely well cared for.
Thank you to everyone for continuing the excellent service during this challenging time, it is much appreciated.
Our daughter adores Woodberry Day Nursery, which is very telling. The staff, resources, information and activities are always considered and her happiness is the most important thing - she runs in. Developmentally, she is flourishing.
One final note on the food - it is fantastic. The children here eat better than we do!
A fantastic nursery. We could not be happier to have our daughter attend. The staff are first class. The property is excellent. The food is varied and well prepared. Attention is paid to dietary and other needs. The nursery has a real sense of community. As a parent, I enjoy being there and seeing my daughter and her friends thrive. I whole-heartedly recommend the nursery, mainly for the experience and kindness of the staff, but also for the sense of community so important in our busy everyday lives. Well done all!
Our son has been attending Woodberry since he was a year old and is now in the pre-school room. We are very happy at how he has developed but most importantly how happy he is every day to go to nursery. The staff are simply wonderful.
Day to day the children are exposed to a wide range of activities (hockey was a recent hit!), different meals three times a day (delicious stuff she wouldn't dream of eating at home) and form crucial social skills with the other children and key workers, it's always a pleasure to hear from her what a lovely day she's had.
Our children have all thrived here and really enjoy/ed their time at nursery.
Each room is really attuned to the ages and stages of the children, and the staff are caring, compassionate and highly skilled. They really take the time to get to know the children and bring them out of themselves by offering activities which interest them. I know my children have loved the variety of activities offered.
My daughter is in the pre-school room and is exposed to so many wonders about the world, it’s great to hear her come home and sing about planets or tell me all about penguins!
The management and office staff are also really nice to deal with, sort out queries efficiently and nothing is too much effort.
Last but certainly not least: the food- they love it!
Thank you, Woodberry!
Words cannot describe how amazing this nursery is. The staff have been part of both my children’s lives since 18 months and my eldest is 5. It’s Woodberry I have to thank for most of their learning, skills and development. The most friendly and caring staff ever and the facilities have always been outstanding. A massive part of my heart will be left there and a great memory I’ll carry forward.
My daughter joined the Woodberry in January this year. The transition from one nursery to another was hard for her, but all the staff in the Bumble Bee room really helped her to settle, especially her key worker. She has come along amazingly in her development and loves the outdoor space. Every day the staff go above and beyond with new stimulating activities for the children to grow and develop.
We just feel that the staff and surroundings gave our son such room to grow, develop but most of all, be happy.
My son attended Woodberry Nursery and he has thoroughly enjoyed his time here. The staff have always been helpful and brought out the best in him. He is always smiling when I pick him up which means he is well looked after.
Her days at Woodberry were always stimulating and fun and she tried new activities.
Her key worker was very attentive to her changing needs as she moved from being an infant to a toddler.
We only left the nursery as we moved from the area, otherwise, I would have happily kept her at Woodberry through until school.
My daughter has been attending Woodberry for the last two years, in the pre-school room. She has been so happy at the nursery and made some wonderful friends among both children and staff which is reflective of the supportive and loving environment of the nursery. All staff are friendly and take a real interest in your child’s development and wellbeing. During her time at the nursery, and in particular in the last year, her confidence and social skills have grown. I have been really impressed with the way the children have been introduced to phonics and the school readiness generally. I know she will miss all the nursery staff greatly when she goes to school but is already talking about “popping in to say hello”.
