The staff in Bright Horizons, Coulsdon have been fantastic with my daughter. She took several weeks to settle in and they were so patient and caring with her. She loves nursery now and all the staff and jumps willingly into their arms at drop-off.
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us your review – it’s much appreciated!
The nursery is newly refurbed and looks bright and fresh. My niece enjoys nursery, every time I pick her up or drop her off, she is so excited to see her carers. She always has lots of fun and brings lots of art home. She also eats well there and the food that is on offer always sounds good. They have a good size garden too which my niece loves playing outside on the bikes and in the mud kitchen.
Hi, thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re thrilled to hear your niece is enjoying the nursery.
Lovely nursery and lovely staff, my son loves it! He has made such a wonderful bond with every individual in the nursery, from management to the children. Parents and children are definitely being cared for, handover is accurate most times (no one is perfect), and activities are well planned and well presented in the morning.
Hi, we're really grateful and appreciate you taking the time to share your rating with us.
Our little one started nursery early this year. As first-time parents, finding a friendly, welcoming nursery was vital for us. Here with Bright Horizons Coulsdon, we can say we found exactly that. The ladies in the Daisy room have helped our little girl settle in well, they are very approachable, and my wife and I feel very reassured as we leave our little one at nursery each day.
Both my children attend this nursery, 1 and 3 year olds and we are so pleased with the care they receive at the nursery. The staff are exceptional - efficient, caring and I am always informed on how they do on a daily basis. I can not recommend them highly enough!
Extremely dissatisfied with the care that my child has endured here. App and staff handovers (if you get one) do not match resulting in a complete lack of trust. High staff turnover results in no consistency for your child and also often a staff shortage meaning on any given morning they might start turning kids away.
I can’t really comment on the quality of the nursery as I haven’t tried any other ones. My child made friends there so it’s good.
The parking situation is a nightmare. It’s a problem nobody needs! I don’t understand why other parents are so obsessed about entering the nursery building to drop off/pick up. They have too much time I suppose? And have trusting issues. When your children go to school you won’t be entering the school and staying with them!
My child loves coming to nursery and has done since she was a baby! She has built strong relationships with everyone here and I'm very happy with the nursery.
We are very pleased with the nursery. Our daughter is really enjoying the nursery.
We are very happy with the standard of care provided by Bright Horizons in Coulsdon. Our son transferred here after we3 moved house and we prefer it to his old nursery. The management is very approachable and happy to answer any queries we have. Our son's literacy and numeracy has improved noticeably since he started here. We would happily recommend this nursery.
My younger son also seems very happy and I feel very confident in the care and encouragement they both get.
My daughter has been at Teddies since 8 months. She has always enjoyed going. The staff are friendly and always willing to listen and help.
My son really loves going to nursery. He has come on in leaps and bounds this past year, even with everything going on with lockdown. The staff are brilliant, my son gets on well with them all and often asks for them at the weekend which is really cute. At 2.5 years old he has a solid group of friends and a good foundation for pre-school.
Really pleased with the service, both of my children attend the nursery and I’m pleased that they are learning new things, involved in creative planning. I am pleased with all staff and management who are also involved with the children on a day to day basis.
Our experience with Bright Horizons Coulsdon has been fantastic. They are very attentive to children's individual needs and helped massively when our son was struggling with his hearing and speech. He has thrived there since he was 13-months-old, and I have always felt reassured that he is happy and well cared for.
The staff have been excellent and our daughter has settled really well. She seems to really love nursery if only she could talk! We love how invested her primary caregiver is in her, they seem to have a strong bond. In summary, we are very happy to have our little girl in your care! You do a great job in very difficult circumstances.
My son started at Bright Horizons Coulsdon Day Nursery and Preschool in October, in the baby room. He settled in very well even with the Covid-19 restrictions. The settling was well managed and my son has bonded well with the staff. The staff tend to his individual needs and routine. He enjoys the variety of planned activities working towards is next steps. He was a bit fussy with his food but has began eating a wider variety of meals.
Great service and all staff are very approachable. Also, the manager is very helpful, any concern, she will go beyond to help to deal with the situation. My son loves the nursery playset and especially he prefers nursery food which is really good.
My daughter loves nursery, she has been going here for the last two years. She is always happy to go and always says she has had fun. She learns lots too. The staff are friendly. We always get a handover sheet letting us know what she's been up to, what she's eaten and often a little photo on it. Covid has changed everything but it's nice she can still go to nursery and they've made it work. Only thing I would suggest is that it would be nice to know more about the layout of her room, what activities are in there and which staff have been looking after her each day as it's not always clear. Maybe some up to date pics on the website where we now can't go in.
But I do feel some improvement could be made when it comes to communicating with parents. I don't email the nursery too often as I prefer to chat to them in person, but every single time I have emailed over the last 2 and a half years, I have had to chase up because I never get a response. I always take it that they are too busy with the children which is fine, but I would say that I've had to chase up probably at least 6 or 7 emails after going over a week with no reply.
I also think that more pictures of the children would be lovely. I love seeing her having fun, and even more so now we can't go into the nursery at all. Maybe little pictures or videos on the Facebook page would be nice.
My little girl seems to love it though, and we are extremely thankful for them after a hard year.

Meet the Team (2)
I have been working in childcare since 2006, where I started as an apprentice and gained Level 2 and Level 3 in Childcare and Education with City and Guilds. I have been in Bright Horizons for 16 years starting with Casterbridge where I worked at Wishing Willow in Banstead. I then progressed in my job role from Nursery Assistant to Nursery Nurse when I gained my NVQ Level 3 then from there I was promoted to room manager then to a junior deputy and from then to Deputy Manager.
I am now the nursery Manager. Since 2016 I have worked at Coulsdon Day Nursery and Preschool. My role is also the Senco Coordinator where I work closely with the staff team and parents to ensure that I am here to support them if needed at any time. I also have the role and responsibility of being the health and safety coordinator where it is my job to ensure the nursery environment is kept clean and safe and to report if we have any health and safety concerns and to also ensure everyone is kept safe.
Yasmin is the Deputy Manager at Bright Horizons Coulsdon and has over 10 years of experience in childcare. She began her career as a Nursery Nurse and has progressed into leadership roles, developing strong skills and a passion for supporting both children and colleagues.
She previously worked as a Nursery Manager for 18 months before returning to Coulsdon as Deputy Manager, where she continues to grow within a setting she values. Yasmin holds a degree in Education and Early Childhood Studies from Roehampton University and is always keen to expand her knowledge and further enhance her practice.
In her role, she works closely alongside the rooms, supporting day-to-day operations and children’s development. She is passionate about creating a nurturing and engaging environment where every child can thrive.
