Bright Horizons Mount Vernon is a great/amazing nursery. The staff are exceptional, guided under the brilliant leadership of the nursery manager. My wife and I have been really happy with the nursery and the team. Our daughter has learnt many great foundational skills at Mount Vernon and continues to
flourish there. I would say it was hard to leave her at 9/10 months but I have to say the exceptional care that the team have provided for both child and parent has been above and beyond.

Joined in February 2018 into the Squirrels room. My son has a lovely day every day. He joins in with lots of activities, eats well and the team including his key person support him so well. He is clearly loved and I feel happy knowing he is learning and growing each day in safe hands while I go to work.

Both my kids come to this nursery. I had a very good experience with my son 4 years back, so I put my daughter also in the same nursery.
I am extremely happy with the staff and they look after all the needs of my daughter.

My child has been going to the nursery since he was 3 years old. The staff were extremely supportive throughout his development journey. The staff are extremely friendly and hardworking.
Would appreciate if more work goes into the area of preparing the child for school and if there is a tracker to
track child progress.

My son has moved to squirrels a month ago. His keyworker and the whole team have helped him settle so well.
There is an excellent balance between help/cuddles and helping him grow to become independent.
They take him out every day to play which he absolutely loves.

My daughter has been at Bright Horizons since September full time. She settled in very quickly, largely thanks to the wonderful staff.
The nursery has fantastic facilities and they do lots of extra activities including yoga and singing.
The parents evenings to update you on their progress are fantastic.
I
would definitely recommend it to people looking for a good all-round nursery.

Since my daughter has been in the toddler room, she has flourished both emotionally and academically. She is always enthusiastic about attending the nursery.
The staff have been very encouraging and supportive, especially whilst my daughter is being toilet trained.
There appears to be a lot of new
engaging activities invested over the last few months and these have been very well received.

Each morning dropping my daughter is easy as the staff are so warm, full of cuddles for the youngsters. This fills me with joy, knowing my daughter is happy to come to the nursery with no tears. She is so excited to inform us of all the activities she has done that day.

My son started this Nursery in September 2016 and has loved every minute of it.

His social and educational development skills have excelled with the help of attentive and experienced staff who take pride in everything that they do. We receive daily feedback on what he has done and a full list of

what yummy meals and snacks he has eaten throughout the day. His key workers keep me up to speed with his development and are happy to pass on advice through their experience and work with me to continue his progress into primary school.

The staff are not only dedicated to the children but very supportive to the parents and pride themselves on making sure that everyone (parents and children) are happy through regular communications either verbally or through emails.

I would definitely recommend this Nursery ??

My son has been at Bright Horizons for months now and I have noticed such a big difference in his ability to play nicely with other children and interact, he seems to learn so much in his physical ability and I also love the different cultural aspects that he otherwise wouldn’t know or understand as
he gets older. The other positive is the feedback we get when we collect him is great, they’re able to tell us exactly what he’s done through the day, what he ate and how much. In all, I just want to thank everyone at Bright Horizons for making me feel although he’s not with me or mummy he’s still safe in your care.

Since the change in management, I can see an improvement. Everyone, all team members are friendly and accommodating. Food has improved, the menu is much healthier. Although the nursery opens at 7.20am, it would be ideal if they could open at 7am to 7pm.
Previously in the baby room, they had a diary
but it is now just a verbal handover. It would be great if we could be given something is written down and give it to us. Otherwise, all good.

Both my husband and I are so grateful and impressed by the service provided by all staff at Mount Vernon Nursery. Our son went in the past and always enjoyed it. Now our daughter is here and has moved from the baby room to the toddler room. The staff are so caring, kind and warm and go out of their
way to welcome her and make her feel happy. I can go to work with the comfort of knowing she is being well looked after. She now smiles and waves goodbye every morning which is a positive reflection of the high standard of care she receives.

The nursery continues to be very nurturing, pastoral, with keen focus on individual children needs. The staff have continued to act in the most professional manner.

Very pleased with recent refurbishments of the nursery.
Feeding times continue to be delayed on many occasions but pleased in-house

catering has been introduced which I hope will resolve the feed time delays. Overall happy!

Excellent nursery - they have been great at bringing out the best in our daughter. She has certainly flourished and grown in confidence there. The staff are approachable, friendly and clearly, enjoy working there. Activities are brilliant and at the age of 4 she can count to 10 in French and Spanish
and has knowledge of other words as well. My only criticism is the fact that parents are still charged when the nursery is shut on bank holidays, which I know is not unique to this nursery but does seem unreasonable.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.986)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.986) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Mount Vernon Day Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.833 for Bright Horizons Mount Vernon Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (101 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 120 Ratings = 4.833
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.153 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Mount Vernon Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.75
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 124 number of registered child places is 24.8. 10 Positive Reviews ÷ 24.8 = 0.403
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2010

I joined Bright Horizons in 2010, which is where my career really took me on a wonderful journey to where I am today!
I started as a nursery part time member of staff and found that I loved my job! I couldn’t see myself doing anything else. The passion I had for working with children pushed me to go further from my level 2 which I studied at school and became a full time nursery assistant studying my level 3 through Bright Horizons.
I was promoted to a 2-3’s room leader and then again on to become a deputy manager.
I transferred from my role as a deputy manager at The Park nursery in Watford, to here at Mount Vernon in April 2017. I have taken all my different experiences from working amongst age group ranges to members of staff to be able to provide exceptional care to all children who attend the nursery. I strive myself in supporting families and providing a loving, caring and educational environment for all.
