Bright Horizons Mount Vernon Day Nursery and Preschool provides high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The secure and spacious gardens allow the children to take their learning outdoors, the large outdoor space is suitable for all age groups and there is an undercover canopy area to use on warmer days.

The nursery offers French and Spanish lessons, as well as Boogie Mites and myHappymind programmes as a part of their Healthy Hearts and Minds activities. They also follow unique 'Growing Enhancements' and 'Ready for School' programmes to prepare your child for their next big steps.

To further support this, the three- to five-year-olds are provided with a uniform of polo shirts and sweatshirts.

The nursery was rated 'Good' by Ofsted in March 2017.

Our daughter joined the baby room in June 2015. Her key worker made not only our daughter feel at ease but us as well. She looks forward to going to nursery and it's a delight to see her go off and play, feeling safe and secure with kindness and support shown by the staff. Her language skills have developed
beautifully, so have her feeding skills and her ability to play and explore.


The work she took home at Christmas time melted our hearts, such a lot of hard work must have gone into preparing such gorgeous activities. Our friends were very impressed with the quality of work.


Our daughter has special dietary requirements and the nursery has always made sure she never misses out, when they do cookery activities the staff always provide similar but safe options especially for her.


Her learning journal and daily diary is a really wonderful way of keeping us informed of her developments. We love reading the observations made by the staff.


We cannot thank the nursery enough for exceeding our expectations of a setting and keeping our little girl happy and safe!!

Both my children attend Mount Vernon Nursery. One child is 3 and the other is 1.


This setting is a very warm and welcoming place to both children and parents, which has enabled both my children to settle well and feel safe and secure in a loving environment.
The care for the children is excellent.


Communication

is fantastic. When you collect your child you are told lots about their day etc and you can ask anything you wish to. Via email there is lots of communication and I particularly enjoy reading the newsletter about what each room will be learning about that month. This enables us as parent to support the learning by consolidating what's been done at nursery and also preparing them for this.


The staff are very approachable at all times and are happy to answer any questions I have had throughout the 2 and a half years my son has been here.
The support for my son has been amazing and the staff have been more than happy to support us a parents on ways forward for him.


The children have a well planned, broad and balanced curriculum, full of fun filled activities such as music, dance, gardening club, languages, piano and much more. As well as their expected learning curriculum.


My son is now in Pre Prep and starts school in September 2016. This nursery are preparing him well for school with the structured routines and expected behaviours. His social development has come on leaps and bounds with a huge input from the staff.


My son has learnt so much here and the staff really take time to put strategies in place on how to bring each individual forward to the next steps of their learning.


My son has had really lovely keyworkers and staff working with him, whom he is grown very fond of and talks about a lot at home. They are part of the family.


My daughter started in September 2015 one day a week. She enjoys the toddler room and has settled well. She too has lovely people working with her and feels safe and secure.


I would recommend this nursery 100%

My son has been attending Mount vernon Day Nursery since he was 9 months old, he's turning 4 next month! I have been extremely happy with the level of care, attention and professionalism the nursery has offered to not only my son but to us as parents too.
Both the staff and activities in the Baby room
and Toddler room have been fantastic. They helped make his transition into the nursery easy even helping me as an upset parent!! Now he is in the pre prep and loves every minute! He can't wait to go in especially on a Wednesday for show and tell and his piano lesson. I am happy I made the choice to keep him here for another year instead of a school nursery as he does so much more including Spanish and French lessons, Piano, Ballet and Woodwork.
I have been extremely happy with everything about the nursery and will continue to recommend friends and family here too!!

I joined Bright Horizons in 2010, which is where my career really took me on a wonderful journey to where I am today!
I started as a nursery part time member of staff and found that I loved my job! I couldn’t see myself doing anything else. The passion I had for working with children pushed me to go further from my level 2 which I studied at school and became a full time nursery assistant studying my level 3 through Bright Horizons.
I was promoted to a 2-3’s room leader and then again on to become a deputy manager.
I transferred from my role as a deputy manager at The Park nursery in Watford, to here at Mount Vernon in April 2017. I have taken all my different experiences from working amongst age group ranges to members of staff to be able to provide exceptional care to all children who attend the nursery. I strive myself in supporting families and providing a loving, caring and educational environment for all.

I joined Mount Vernon Nursery in the summer of 1995 and I proudly have over 30 years’ experience in childcare. I am a mother and a grandmother. Fostering a maturing environment for a child in the early years has been a passion of mine. I am motivated by the ability to be a part of introducing the concept of education to a wide spectrum of children. Helping to ensure our families receive excellent care each and every day is key to my role. After all these years at the nursery, I still look forward to what tomorrow brings.
