Our son has been attending Bright Horizon Mount Vernon since January 2022, when he was 6 months old. The team has been absolutely amazing in supporting us through the settling in process. Communication is really good, they worked with us to test different weaning approaches, providing helpful insights
whilst always listening to and addressing any concern we had. All staff are extremely caring and passionate about what they do, so I would definitely recommend. My only very minor complaint is that parking at peak time can be quite tricky!

Very happy with Bright Horizon Mount Vernon staff and overall facilities. After our daughter, who spent 4 years here, we now have our son with them. Can vouch for consistency of care and development that we have experienced here. Highly recommended.

Bright Horizons Mount Vernon Day Nursery has got a really friendly and dedicated staff. They take attention to detail and care of each and every child to the best of their ability. We get regular updates via emails and the new app, and I have been able to attend a parent's evening at the nursery.

Bright Horizons Mount Vernon nursery is a lovely nursery, where both my children have been looked after by fantastic and friendly staff. The introduction of the App to see in real time what your child is doing is a great addition and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

The staff at Bright Horizons are all very friendly and helpful. I feel so comfortable leaving my daughter with her teachers each day, knowing that she will be well looked after. I also think all the teachers did an amazing job during the covid crisis. I would highly recommend this nursery.

My husband and I are very happy with everything at Bright Horizons. The staff are all fantastic and our son adores them all. Our son's food allergies are handled brilliantly, which is such a great piece of mind when he is in their care. The nursery was not able to be viewed when our son started due
to covid restrictions, but we never had any doubt that it wasn't the right placement. The staff kept us up to date with daily reports and photos, which has now moved online on the app, which is great. I have recommended Bright Horizons to colleagues and friends.

My little girl loves coming into nursery. She is greeted by all members of staff so personally. She walks into nursery with a big smile. My daughter has learnt so much i.e. colours, numbers, letters, shapes and the attention given to the likes and dislikes is second to none. Generally, my little one
is a fussy eater, but she enjoys most of her food at nursery, especially the puddings! My daughter comes out of nursery with a huge smile each day, which speaks volumes. The new app is a great way to see what the children get up to each day. I cannot find any reason to complain. The nursery is fantastic and I thoroughly recommend.

Ever since the manager changed, the standards and level of care have dropped! During the government announcement in January and warning to stay at home, the nursery went ahead with the parent evening allowing parents in. We decided not to go as this was very stupid and I am critically vulnerable. Days
later three cases of covid in the nursery and one being my daughter! Now I have covid, thanks very much! The manager hasn’t even contacted us which is very unprofessional. Also, for eligibility for assisted funding, we were told there has been a form for us in reception for weeks. We never go in the main building and no one told us. We then received a phone call to say for the 15 hours we don’t need to fill out anything. Days later an administrator called us and was very aggressive and wouldn’t accept we were told this by them! The nursery is now doing outside walks with children and we said we are not happy and don’t consent to this because there are lots of cars!

My child attended Mount Vernon Day Nursery for three and a half years before going to school. He thoroughly enjoyed his time at the nursery. The staff were warm, welcoming and I know he was loved. They were there to support all questions at any time and I always felt happy and safe leaving him in their
care. The teaching was great and he learned so much. The transition to school was easy and he was well prepared. A fantastic nursery with a great team. We miss them all very much but thank you for the wonderful start for my child.

The nursery has been very accommodating with the individual needs of my little one. Attaining any information that can help and working together to ensure the best way for my child to learn and grow. With speech and language difficulties we are in constant communication to ensure there is nothing missed.

Such a wonderful setting for children, and they have done a fantastic job at adapting during the pandemic. Staff are always friendly and supportive and my little one thrives in the environment. Love the focus on outdoor play when it's warm enough. Meals always seem nutritious and varied. Given the
current environment, it's hard to get a full picture of how my child is doing as it's not always possible to have a longer conversation when collecting at the door but hopefully this will change as restrictions ease. Would thoroughly recommend the nursery to others!

Genuine interest and affection for the children. I appreciate the knowledge and experience of the care givers who have been there a long time, they’ve seen it all and offer reassuring advice and support. I’ve been so pleased with the attention given to my toddler and the interest in developing his learning
with us. He loves going to nursery, with all the activities going on and I never worry calling in to see how he’s doing for any reason. I would highly recommend.

I currently have a child in the school building but both children have been at the nursery from nine months until school age. The nursery is fantastic and the staff are amazing. I really feel reassured my children are being looked after extremely well, my sons allergies are catered for and his care
plan is regularly updated. Both children love the nursery and have always been very happy there.

My daughter has been at Bright Horizons Mount Vernon Day Nursery and Preschool since she was ten months old and is now two years and eight months. She has grown so much and learnt so much during her time at the nursery, through the help of the staff and I am forever grateful. The space is clean and
tidy. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I was anxious about her returning after the Covid-19 lockdown's but the nursery have gone above and beyond to ensure the parents and staff feel safe and secure. My daughter absolutely loves going to nursery and since returning after the short break, she has come on leaps and bounds in her development. Would highly recommend.

The staff are professional and trustworthy. I looked at a lot of nurseries for my daughter and this was the only place where she left my arms to explore the surroundings when we visited and told me a lot in itself. The carers are so nice and genuinely love my daughter. I feel very good when I see how
they greet her and take her in each morning. I would highly recommend this nursery.

I cannot praise the team and facilities at Bright Horizons in Mount Vernon enough. The staff are very caring, professional and flexible. The site is clean, spacious, inspiring and fun. There is an on-site chef preparing fresh food daily, and there is a huge range of activities for the children. My son
is nearly four and has been there for 7-months. He absolutely loves it. He is my fourth child, and I can say hand on heart this is the best nursery that I’ve used.

Brilliant nursery and most importantly brilliant staff!
My son absolutely adores his key worker and I couldn’t be happier.
The report I receive at the end of each day really does make a difference, I know exactly what they have eaten, played with, learnt and all you can think of.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.040)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.040) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Mount Vernon Day Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.917 for Bright Horizons Mount Vernon Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (88 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.917
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.123 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Mount Vernon Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 124 number of registered child places is 24.8. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 24.8 = 0.323
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2010

I joined Bright Horizons in 2010, which is where my career really took me on a wonderful journey to where I am today!
I started as a nursery part time member of staff and found that I loved my job! I couldn’t see myself doing anything else. The passion I had for working with children pushed me to go further from my level 2 which I studied at school and became a full time nursery assistant studying my level 3 through Bright Horizons.
I was promoted to a 2-3’s room leader and then again on to become a deputy manager.
I transferred from my role as a deputy manager at The Park nursery in Watford, to here at Mount Vernon in April 2017. I have taken all my different experiences from working amongst age group ranges to members of staff to be able to provide exceptional care to all children who attend the nursery. I strive myself in supporting families and providing a loving, caring and educational environment for all.
