Brinds Well Day Nursery in Orpington provides children with a warm and welcoming learning environment where highly trained practitioners promote child-led interests and play.

The fantastic, fully equipped, large garden area offers children a range of outdoor learning experiences and is used in all weathers and seasons. This helps to support children's social, emotional and physical development.

For extra-curricular activities, they currently offer Pro-stars every Wednesday for preschool children. Additionally, every Friday, Caterpillars, Ladybirds, and Bumblebees enjoy Mandarin singing sessions, led by a dedicated music teacher. He customises each session to align with the children’s current interests.

They are located close to the train station, open 7.30-6.30 and are fully-inclusive offering a convenient service to parents.

Even though my son has not attended nursery since lockdown began, I'm extremely impressed with the amount of communication via the nursery app, videos, activities to try at home, songs and stories and even food ideas from the lady in the kitchen. Great for keeping that connection. I really appreciated
the call from one of the team in my son's group to check we were all well. Another huge positive in all of this was not being charged while my son was not attending. I've heard of numerous nurseries still charging 25-30% even though they were closed. A huge help and relief. We look forward to returning very soon.

I have been very happy with the nursery my daughter attends. She is now 18 months, has been there since September 2019 and attends full time as both her mother and I have fulltime jobs. She always comes home with a big smile and it is great to see her bonding with all the staff and other children. She
is starting to learn people's names, starting to count and form sentences. The nursery staff are all very bubbly and easy to get along with, and best of all are flexible to your requests and needs.
I am very grateful for the attention and care they have provided her and it's amazing to see how she is developing every day now. Thank you.

I cannot recommend this nursery enough. The staff are fantastic in leading new and fun educational activities for the children every day. Our son is always happy when we drop him off and when we pick him up. The nursery is excellent at communicating with us, always taking their time when handing him
over and giving us details as to what he did that day. The food they offer is really healthy. And we particularly love the support they offer in terms of leaving recipe cards in reception and reading books/toys the children can borrow. The nursery facilities inside and outside are excellent. And it's fantastic to see all staff encourage the little ones to be independent whilst having fun at the same time.

Management has always very responsive to any questions/concerns - both via email and in person.
Most of the staff in the rooms that my children are in are very friendly and work well together to ensure the engagement of all the children.
The opportunity for parents to become more involved in things
like Eco-School has been exciting and the team are very open to new ideas and suggestions.

My daughter has had an excellent start to the nursery based on how flexible and accommodating they have been with the settling in. I feel I can always call in during the day if I feel I want to see how she is doing. Overall a great experience.

Brinds Well is a very welcoming environment. The staff all take time to get to know us as parents but more importantly know your child within hours. At what can be a very unsettling time for your little one, the key workers and all staff show true care and attention to make them feel safe and cared
for.
The days are packed with fun learning activities with plenty of inside and outside time. So far I can report on no negative food experiences as our daughter is expanding her palate on a daily basis and eating meals that she wouldn’t normally try at home.
We are looking forward to watching the development of our daughter, making her ready in all respects to start her schooling life.

A wonderful experience putting my 10-month-old in the nursery for the first time. The staff are really understanding and supportive of the transition of my little girl settling in. Brindswell is an absolutely lovely nursery with such a wonderful team of staff. So many great things but if I could just mention a few:
- My son is greeted with a wonderful smile by all the staff in the room every morning
- He some times struggle to settle in. All the staff have been very supportive
looking for all sorts of creative ways to ease him in
- Communication between the staff is faultless - every time I leave a message, it’s communicated to everyone involved, every time
- My son is not interested in going home at the end of a long day. Is always happy whenever I pick him
- To top it all is the wonderful pictures and videos I get through the ParentZone app which gives me an update on how my son has been through the day - absolutely makes me smile every time.

My little girl has been with Brinds Well since Sept and she is in love with the everyone there! Everyone is very helpful, kind and considerate of her needs and personality. I could not have found a better nursery for her. She is there full time and I never feel like I worry about her well being. The
staff keep her online log very up to date and I always look forward to seeing all the pictures and videos they post. I have not a single bad word about Brinds Well.

I was extremely anxious about leaving my daughter after a year together on maternity leave and returning to work. Brindswell helped make the transition so much easier as I knew she was safe, well cared for and having lots of fun.

My little one graduated from Brinds Well in August 2019. I must say she had an amazing time from when she started as a baby (in ladybirds) till her last day (in butterflies).
She (and me) are always full of some stories to share - be it about how they played outside or how to protect the poor little
turtle in the sea from plastic.
The staff here listen to you and if something isn't right for you, they hear you out - which is what I wanted when it came to my little one's care.
I would not think twice before recommending Brinds Well to my friends and family.

Brinds Well offers fantastic facilities as well as welcoming hospitality to all children and parents. My son loves going to the nursery and doing a variety of activities with other children. I receive a daily record of how my child's activities and a mobile-based interactive apps provides me with photos
and observations uploaded by the nursery staff. The staff are confident and delightful, always making me feel like staying in the nursery instead of going to the office in the morning.

My daughter attended Brinds Well Day Nursery for about 3 years. In all this time the care has been very good and if you have concerns they have been addressed quickly. The staff is very caring towards the children and they have lots of activities to develop their learning. One of the things that
I liked the most is that they have outdoor activities and that the nursery building has been built for that purpose. The management staff are also very helpful. I have recommended this nursery to several mums and we were also recommended by friends to join the nursery and they were not wrong in their advice. All in all, I will highly advise any parents to join this nursery.

Vanessa Watkins

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2013

Vanessa is the Manager of Brinds Well Day Nursery and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 11 years.


She has numerous qualifications, including Level 2 and 3 in Childcare, Leadership Level 5 Leadership for Children and Young People’s Workforce and First Aid training.


Vanessa is also the designated safeguarding lead for the nursery and is fully trained in Level 2 Makaton signing.


She has worked for Childbase Partnership for 8 years.


What is your favourite feature of your nursery?
The outdoor space; we are very lucky that each room has its own garden and outdoor area. Each garden is unique and really supports children's learning experiences.


Outdoor learning is shown to inspire our children and help them connect with nature. We are lucky with our surroundings, it is very calm and quiet and we hear lots of different birds tweeting throughout the day.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
The passion, commitment and knowledge they give on a daily basis. They give 110% all day, every day and the care they provide to their children and families is outstanding. Every child is unique but the key person will know each individual child fully. They will support their development and well-being through their amazing relationships. During COVID this did not stop, with the home learning we gave to our families from daily videos of our practitioners reading a story to singing and phonic lessons. Practitioners sent activity ideas to support the families at home, whilst my chef was doing cooking lessons once a week with the children virtually. The care, love and support do not stop here at Brinds Well.
