My son is very clingy but he's happy to go to nursery and I can see him on the nursery camera playing around.
My children are so happy at this nursery. The care is excellent, particularly the staff. All the mentors have such positive and warm relationships with my children and the specialist teaching in music, sport and art sets this nursery apart. All with fantastic facilities in a beautiful green setting.
Staff are great, my daughter adores her mentor!
My eldest son was so well prepared here for his new start at school that he hit the ground running. I highly recommend this nursery.
Active Learning is an excellent nursery which I cannot rate highly enough. Both of our children have been very, very happy there and we have had every confidence that they have been well looked after. The staff are creative, energetic and most of all caring and we've seen our children's confidence and abilities grow thanks to them.
My daughter has attended Active Learning since she was a baby. The staff in all of the rooms have been so attentive and loving towards her that I have no issues at all with leaving her in their care every day. She has thrived during her time at the nursery and loves going there every day. I can’t recommend the nursery enough!
Excellent day nursery. Very confident staff, delivering and developing expertise to children.
Very friendly staff and they made a real effort to get to know my child well in a short amount of time. Excellent daily feedback with written details of meals, activities, and give a clear picture of his day at the nursery.
Our son has always been happy at Active Learning Crouch End (London) and the slightly longer opening hours are useful. Unfortunately, staff turnover is quite high, but I don't think that this is uncommon in nursery settings. Also, following a series of 'biting' incidents, they did not follow their own policies to deal with it.
Our child is consistently happy and has bonded with various staff, some of whom are excellent and very well qualified. This and proximity are the primary reasons we chose the nursery.
In very warm weather (above 25C) the building is not adequately cooled in my opinion. Physical security is mixed. There is controlled access into the building and play areas, and there is CCTV that parents may review on an occasional basis. However, any parent is buzzed into the door before checking who they are. There is a plan to improve this but it has not been implemented since a year now.
Active Learning Crouch End is an outstanding nursery. Our daughter moved here from another nursery in Highgate and the difference was stark. The quality of staff, the range of learning topics and the facilities available to the children are brilliant. Our daughter is extremely happy at the nursery and has learnt so much.
The manager and his wonderful team create an encouraging and motivating, warm atmosphere. They are very supportive and kind. All of them know every child by name and are really good observers and mentors. There is beautiful outside space (large gardens, cricket fields around) and they offer a lot of activities on top to prepare the children for school. There is music, zumba, ballet, sports, Spanish.
Our twin boys have been going to Active Learning Crouch End (London) for a year now and they absolutely love it. We as parents feel very safe and happy knowing that our boys are receiving the best care and support they need in these early years. The staff are very affectionate and professional. The mentors make sure that every child is cared for individually according to their needs and parents are updated on their child's progress and development. In every aspect an amazing place for little ones.
This is an excellent nursery within amazing, green surroundings. My daughter has been attending for over a year now and we've always felt like she was looked after by professionals who know that they're doing. The managers are reliable, approachable and there is an overall close community feel.
The recent take over by Bright Horizons sparked some concerns of standards potentially dropping, but we have not seen evidence of this yet. PS. please ensure you look after your good quality staff, they are the reason we chose you.
The building, location, staff and facilities are excellent - I don't think they could be any better. Staff and management really care about the children and always give time to speak to parents about any concerns.
The staff are excellent in the nursery. They are all very friendly and have bonded well with my child as she has progressed through each class. The only thing that is frustrating is the staff turnover is high and so my daughter has had a lot of mentors. At times there has not been a lot of detailed communication with parents about what kids are doing. The new newsletter does address this.
We really appreciate that you have taken time out to share your feedback, your opinion is very important to us. I am going to share your comments with the Nursery Manager and ask her to speak to you. We especially take any concerns regarding safeguarding extremely seriously. I would strongly encourage you to speak to us, so we can address your areas of concerns.
Caring staff, a wide range of activities, enviable outdoor space and strong management makes this the best nursery in the area. Dedicated nursery teacher means learning opportunities are well planned. A special mention to the excellent music teacher who does much more than just sing in a circle - the summer term show was a triumph. Management team seem very proud their nursery which has a pleasant and professional atmosphere. Communication with parents/carers is good.
The first time leaving your child in the care of others is such a tough thing but all the staff I've dealt with at Active Learning have been so kind and friendly and made it as gentle as possible! The setting is beautiful and the most important thing is that my son seems to be loving it.
Excellent staff, friendly and happy environment, set in lovely surroundings. We have seen our daughter develop her social and language skills at a fast pace due to the care, attention and activities she receives at Active Learning. Highly recommended. The management are friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make things easy for you.
The Crouch End nursery has excellent facilities, especially its outdoor spaces. They have a good range of activities and my child enjoys the different music, art, sports and learning sessions. I feel that attending this nursery has boosted my child's confidence with other adults and children and enables him to participate in activities that I wouldn't think of doing or wouldn't be able to do at home.
Very friendly hands on staff and great facilities. Our twin toddlers attend this nursery and are very happy there. There are always lots of activities going on so I never have to worry about them not getting enough stimulation. Since joining they have also learnt lots of new skills including how to feed themselves and more words to their vocabulary. I would definitely recommend it!

Meet the Team (2)
I began my Bright Horizons journey in January 2016 as Room Leader at Active Learning West Hampstead and was promoted to Third in Charge shortly after. I have had experience working in all rooms across the nursery and helping to support room leaders to excel in their roles. I then transferred to Active Learning Crouch End in September 2018 after returning from maternity leave to start a new adventure as Deputy Manager.
I have had experience in many different senior roles, such as being Room Leader, Third in Charge and Deputy Manager in other settings. I have also been the Lead SENCO in my past nurseries.
I am passionate about childcare and thrive on providing a safe, educational, home away from home environment where children can learn and develop whilst enjoying their time at nursery. I thoroughly enjoy my interactions with children and will often be found with a group participating in an activity, whilst supporting and motivating my staff team in providing exceptional experiences for the children within our care.
My name is Kashca, and I am the Deputy Manager of Bright Horizons Crouch End Fields. I began my journey with Bright Horizons in 2019. I am the Designated Safeguarding Lead, Paediatric First Aider, and Nursery SEND Co-Ordinator. I have worked in education for 11 years across both primary and Early Years settings.
I achieved my BA Hons Degree in Education Studies, covering areas such as Children’s Thinking Skills and Cognition development to Therapeutic Approaches and how we can support children with Special Educational Needs and disabilities through mediums such as Art and Music.
I thrive working alongside the Local Authority for a great partnership and working alongside other professionals.
I have a passion for developing parent partnerships and strive to ensure children have the best possible start in their lives and ensure both children and staff are happy whilst they are happy at our nursery.
