Excellent facilities and range of activities for the children with a particular focus on music dance and art.
I would definately recommend Active Learning to anyone.
Our daughter loves the nursery and everyone who works there. They have great facilities and activities and a genuinely caring, lovely team.
Our daughter joined Active Learning September 2018 and loves it. Her development since being with a member of the staff and the baby team has been fast and solid. The care the whole team show the children is wonderful. The education programmes Active Learning follow are good and the feedback on my daughter’s daily activity, what she’s eaten, drank and how she’s slept is reassuring. Active Learning is more costly than other nurseries in the area of Crouch End but we think the extra investment is worth it. I highly recommend this nursery.
It’s amazing how many extracurricular activities such as music and art lessons they offer and both indoor and outdoor facilities are great!
Active Learning is a thoughtful and caring environment. Our daughter loves it! She loves everything about it, the staff and activities and toys. It is home from home for her. There is a lot of staff continuity, very little churn. If there have ever been issues the staff take them seriously and work with us to ensure we are happy. They strive to ensure my daughter's happiness and well being are entirely met and we have no cause for concerns, at all.
By far the best nursery either of my kids have attended.
The staff clearly love our son, he is happy, learning and growing in confidence.
The activities are excellent - music, languages and art.
Other nurseries seem either to be long hours but boring for the kids or very short hours with a good development. This nursery does both.
The experience with our first was so great hat we didn't hesitate one second to bring our second one. He has been at the nursery for more than a year and he loves the environment, the other kids and all the personnel. The kids have a lot of activities there, they have good fun and learn a lot. As a parent you can feel such a positive environment!
My daughter has been at Active Learning for eight months. She settled well and is very happy there. The staff are fantastic and the nursery is very well managed. We get daily written updates on our child and regular news from the nursery. Food is very varied and healthy. Activities seem stimulating and we have noticed a change since my daughter moved to the “older” room. It is relatively expensive compared to other options but we feel it does reflect the overall quality and experience. The refurbishment is bringing revamped rooms and toys etc. In summary, really pleased so far and glad we chose this nursery for our daughter.
Our daughter has been with Active Learning for nearly a year, and she loves it. We were sceptical at first as the nursery is very busy and we wondered whether the pace/place would be too frenetic. On the contrary, it is simply active and lives up to its name. The staff make the place and our daughter has formed strong bonds with her teachers and with other children. We couldn't ask for more, especially in terms of key people, and the management staff are caring and attentive as well. In her time there, our daughter's confidence has increased, she has learned loads from the dedicated teaching sessions, and she has had lots of fun. She starts school in September, and I think she'll be well prepared, thanks in large part to her time at Active Learning.
Only been at nursery for six weeks. Generally pleased. Staff are nice to the children and facilities good. Administration friendly but could be slicker (several errors and changes to settling in dates for example). Some staff could spend more time at floor level interacting with the babies to develop a closer, more personal bond.
We would recommend this nursery to anyone as the staff and facilities are very good.
Spacious rooms and good outdoor spaces.
Great consideration given to diet/menu.
Very good communication.
The staff at the nursery are incredibly creative in the ways they engage the children in learning and play. My daughter loves her days there and comes home wanting to talk about all the things she's done. The staff have been so supportive in helping her to settle in and she has very quickly developed her confidence and feels very secure there. The atmosphere is always calm but fun and the staff put a huge amount of energy into their work with the children. I love the variety of activities, the art, music and sports sessions are great and they make learning really fun. I especially love that the children are taught how to navigate their interactions with each other and how to be kind and considerate to each other.
My daughter toddles down the corridor with a big smile on her face. She loves to see the nursery assistants and children each morning and she is always made to feel welcome and secure/loved.
The location of the nursery is quite idyllic, with a big green field surrounding it. The staff are really gentle and understanding.
I have an 11 month old baby with them and settling in was made easier with their care, the babies room is big and bright. The only downside is the price, being one of the priciest in the area, but to be fair I am really happy to have chosen this nursery, despite it!
Great staff and great activities, both physical and mental. Really friendly environment. Our little one really loves it there, has made lots of friends and really loves all of his mentors. He gets great attention and anything we ever talk them about they action. There is great outdoor space which he loves as he is very active, great music and art teachers and he is always coming home with a new song, something new to tell us. Food is also great, they can get him to eat things he won't even look at home! Really recommend.
Very happy with the high standards they provide - we have two children who have attended and they both really prospered.
Our second daughter is currently attending the nursery and we are delighted that so many of the core staff are still there from the time our first daughter attended. The setting is spacious and the outside space of the cricket grounds a real plus, especially in the summer. The extra curricular activities are varied with a designated sports teacher, super creative music teacher and art teacher even Spanish and ballet. The staff are professional, caring and encouraging and the mentor system works well with a key worker assigned to each child.
Also, some of the climbing apparatus was removed from the garden space which was a shame as they were always very popular.
Both our girls have been extremely happy and thrived in this environment.
My daughter is in the baby room. I chose this nursery as it is one of the largest baby rooms I saw, giving her lots of space to explore during the day. Little ones also have access to a special sensory room and a garden. The room is lovely and bright with windows overlooking the cricket field and the garden. The staff have been really fun and caring. It is clear that my little girl enjoys playing with them and she gets plenty of cuddles. I highly recommend bright horizons active learning.

Meet the Team (2)
I began my Bright Horizons journey in January 2016 as Room Leader at Active Learning West Hampstead and was promoted to Third in Charge shortly after. I have had experience working in all rooms across the nursery and helping to support room leaders to excel in their roles. I then transferred to Active Learning Crouch End in September 2018 after returning from maternity leave to start a new adventure as Deputy Manager.
I have had experience in many different senior roles, such as being Room Leader, Third in Charge and Deputy Manager in other settings. I have also been the Lead SENCO in my past nurseries.
I am passionate about childcare and thrive on providing a safe, educational, home away from home environment where children can learn and develop whilst enjoying their time at nursery. I thoroughly enjoy my interactions with children and will often be found with a group participating in an activity, whilst supporting and motivating my staff team in providing exceptional experiences for the children within our care.
My name is Kashca, and I am the Deputy Manager of Bright Horizons Crouch End Fields. I began my journey with Bright Horizons in 2019. I am the Designated Safeguarding Lead, Paediatric First Aider, and Nursery SEND Co-Ordinator. I have worked in education for 11 years across both primary and Early Years settings.
I achieved my BA Hons Degree in Education Studies, covering areas such as Children’s Thinking Skills and Cognition development to Therapeutic Approaches and how we can support children with Special Educational Needs and disabilities through mediums such as Art and Music.
I thrive working alongside the Local Authority for a great partnership and working alongside other professionals.
I have a passion for developing parent partnerships and strive to ensure children have the best possible start in their lives and ensure both children and staff are happy whilst they are happy at our nursery.
