Abbey Wood Grange Nursery South Croydon operates from an extended three-story house in a private, residential area in Kenley, South Croydon, Surrey.

Just a short walk from Kenley train station, close to local bus services (Godstone Road), they offer the highest quality childcare and pride themselves in meeting the high standards set for children's nursery care, they are members of the National Day Nursery Association.

As a registered provider of early years education they offer the Nursery Education Grant which entitles all three and four-year-olds to either 15 or 30 hours of Government funded nursery sessions per week. The nursery in South Croydon enjoys spacious and fully enclosed outdoor play areas with a wide range of outdoor equipment to allow the children to have fun whilst gaining physical skills, fresh air and exercise.

Abbey Wood supports children with learning difficulties and children who speak English as an additional language.

My experience overall is good, I judge mainly by how my daughter is. Dropping off is never a problem and she talks a lot at home about her friends and the Teachers. I'm very interested in the learning side and can evidence activities done and set are all to aid the child.
The Tapestry system which
is a recent edition I'm in favour of and my daughter eats well-balanced food.

My son is 13 months and has been at Abbey Wood for nearly 5 months now and we have been extremely happy. The staff and facilities are excellent and he settled in very quickly. It is not easy having to go back to work and find childcare, however, the staff made the transition seamless and have an excellent
rapport with my son.

We knew the moment we stepped foot in this nursery that it was different to all the others we viewed because the whole atmosphere was so bright and cheery and everyone we met seemed genuinely happy to be there, staff and children alike.


The managers are lovely and really hands-on and have day to

day involvement with the children which I think is important. The carers are fantastic and really engage with the children well from everything we've seen both in the baby and toddler unit.


We honestly couldn't be happier with the nursery and our daughter loves it there despite initially being a very clingy baby when we first enrolled her.


The extended opening hours and proximity to the station make commuting into London really easy too.

Since joining Abbey Wood, my daughter has developed in so many ways. She is more confident and balanced and looks forward to going to nursery every day. My daughter loves the teachers very much and the teachers are very approachable for parents.

The staff are always friendly and helpful. The care they provide for my daughter is second to none. With the early opening of 07h30 it allows us just that bit more commuting time in the morning. The have a variety of activities that my daughter really enjoys. My daughter has attended this nursery for
about a year and a half now and I would highly recommend them.

My daughter has attended Abbey Wood for about 18 months and in that time I have watched her grow with confidence. The staff are always professional and treat both us, as parents, and our daughter with respect and kindness. They organise a lot of activities to keep the children stimulated and entertained.
They encourage children to explore and learn at their own pace with a number of different approaches. Every query has always been handled efficiently and because of this I trust they will make the right decisions for her during the course of the day. The meals and snacks that are provided are always fresh, healthy and diverse.

We have been very happy with the nursery. It is an independent nursery which we liked as it didn't feel like just another nursery. The staff are always very friendly and we like the facilities compared to other local nurseries, especially the large garden and soft play room.


The admin side does

not feel necessary like a polished system but works effectively none the less. From our experience, they keep to their child care policies which is reassuring.

The first baby room had a great carer who seems caring and spares no energy looking after the babies. However, the next room my son was moved into left much to be desired. The carers there were quite apathetic and would just sit while children cried. Fortunately, my son could be moved quickly to the
next age-range room where carers feel competent and caring once again.


I'm overall happy with the nursery, but it would be even better if the level of care wasn't so unequal between rooms.

My daughter has loved Abbey Wood Grange ever since starting 2 months ago. She is happy to go in every day, always smiling and waving at the staff.
The staff are kind and always know her by name, they are helpful when you phone up and happy to answer any questions or concerns.
She gets a good variety
of food and what she has eaten is recorded daily in her book.


I love the way the nursery keep you informed with newsletters and pictures so you can see what the children have been up to. They also make a lot of effort to take part in activities for charity/days such as Halloween/Christmas by having the children dress up, have special meals and do different activities.

My daughter enjoys her days at Abbey Wood, making friends and learning important life skills. The nursery arranges a wide variety of activities for the kids. There are lots of events for celebrating every holiday.


The location is great (2min away from the station). Food served is healthy. The nursery

teachers are approachable and caring. All in all great place for the little ones.

The first key carer is caring and nice to him. However, I feel that a few of other carers were not patient with him as he was crying when trying to settle into the new environment at the beginning, especially when he was teething too. When he was moved to Lemon room, where I did not feel he was cared
as much as he was in pink room. Also a few times I was told that carers were just sitting there doing nothing when children were crying. Management seems to be doing their jobs to reassure parents, but I did not feel some of the carers were cooperative. Trying the Lylic room and hoping things work out.

Abbey Wood have provided excellent care for my son from a baby through to pre-school. The nursery is good value for money and the staff are great. Communication with parents is very good and the standard of care overall has been wonderful. It is also close to Kenley station which is very useful for
me. I would recommend this nursery to anyone in the area.

My son attends Abbey Wood Grange Day Nursery two days a week and he absolutely loves it there. He is so content he doesn't even notice when we leave him there very early each morning. The staff are a delight, so caring, attentive and friendly. When my son is at nursery I am never worried as I know that
he is in very safe hands. Big thank you. They are outstanding.

My daughter currently attends this nursery and so did my son and niece.
I couldn't be happier, staff are all lovely and my daughter loves going and hates leaving.
Always great fresh food cooked daily and so much to do during the day ie activities garden, play romp, room stories, songs, I cannot fault
this nursery my son is 7 and still talks about his time here and how much he misses going to nursery.

I have been so impressed by Abbey Wood Nursery, and the lengths their staff go to to ensure my son enjoys his time there and learns in the process. He has been going to the nursery for almost a year, and it is clear he loves his time there. The staff are always incredibly friendly, welcoming, and cheerful.
I am always totally satisfied that my son is in safe hands, and it is clear they care so much for the children. I am always provided with a detailed summary of his activities throughout the day, and they always answer any questions I have, no matter how silly they seem. The facilities are superb at the nursery, with so many different areas for my son to explore and visit inside and out, and so many different ways for him to improve his development. The food choices are also really varied, and fantastic quality. I would absolutely recommend Abbey Wood Nursery Ltd. to any parent and I am so happy that my son is in such an amazing and safe environment! A huge thank you to everyone there!

Lovely nursery, great staff and fab outdoor space in a lovely location. My daughter loves her days here and has enjoyed learning new skills. She also eats far more foods at nursery than she does at home so the catering must be good!

I have two busy boys that attend Abbey Wood, the oldest has been in attendance for 3 years. We cannot fault this Nursery! My boys are so happy here. All staff across my 3 year experience has been incredibly lovely, helpful and attentive. They always make me feel as if my children are their favourite!
My son will be sad to leave for Big School next year!
