My 18-month-old son started at Abbey Wood Grange a few weeks ago. The staff have been very helpful with settling him in. They have an excellent garden with a wide range of things to play with.
I good highly recommend Abbey Wood Grange.

My son started attending in March 2016 at the age of 1 and has now moved up from baby to toddler room. So far Abbeywood has been brilliant. The staff are fantastic, eager to help and extremely caring towards the children- sensitive to the routines our son was used to as a baby and also our own preferences,
whilst also aiding his growth and teaching him new things. We have seen him develop so much and his confidence has also grown. The outside space and facilities like the romp room are also excellent. My son is extremely happy there and I'm sure this is because he doesn't get bored- loves the activities and the romp room as well as socialising with both the staff and kids. We have not worried about him or the level of care and attention he will get, whilst at work and have so far not been wrong about trusting Abbeywood with our most precious thing in the world. I am now expecting my second and will definitely be using Abbeywood again for childcare on my return to work.

My son has Asperger's and the nursery could not have catered better for him. His keyworker helped him with potty training by creating a 'toilet story' and putting his favourite pictures in the toilet cubicle. She also made up a box of alphabet activities especially for him, to serve as a distraction
when he is dropped off and distraught to see me leave. This worked a treat! My son finds it difficult to eat at a table with other children, so they set him up at a table on his own, but then gently helped him make the transition to eating with others, by asking two of the quieter children to join him at the table. It worked! All the adults take a great interest in his happiness and general progress. They are all conscientious, warm, caring and insightful regarding his needs. The fact that the nursery has a soft play room in the basement is also a great bonus!

My daughter attended Abby Wood Grange from 9 months old until she started school. She was always happy and went to school well prepared. My toddler son now attends and I have seen him grow socially and he is always happy.

My baby has just started nursery. I was anxious that he won't settle as he is only 7 months old. He settled very quickly and doesn't cry when I leave him or collect him. The nursery staff are approachable, always caring and very helpful. There is a newsletter at the end of the month with photos and
an email to keep us updated of next month's events. I am also impressed by the nursery's facilities and does not hesitate to recommend them.

A very caring and friendly nursery, where my daughter loves to go. Very helpful staff, great facilities and excellent food. My daughter is currently in the baby room but will be moving up to the toddler room next month. The baby room has two lovely cosy rooms where they play and can go outside on toys.
Really impressed with the way the staff update you on your child's day and if ever a problem they call you straight away to let you know.

The nursery is very good and the staff are very professional and friendly. My daughter seems to enjoy herself and likes the staff. I would like to see more fruit as a pudding option instead of sugary yogurts and flapjacks etc. But generally very happy with the care.

Both my children have attended Abbey Wood Grange since the age of one. My husband and I chose this nursery as we were impressed by the spacious outdoor facilities, the friendly and warm nature of the staff and the many varied activities on offer. The staff are always warm and welcoming and genuinely
care about the children - it is a happy place and I have always felt comfortable leaving my children there, knowing that they will be well looked after. The staff work really hard to put on lots of fun activities for the children - from daily arts and crafts activities to the annual sports day, Tilgate park outing and Christmas fayre. There is always lots going on at Abbey Wood and the management are very good at keeping parents informed via weekly emails with photos.

My son has been attending since he was 1, (he is now 2 1\2). We have found he is learning very quickly from singing the alphabet to nursery rhymes and his vocabulary is constantly increasing which all credit must be given to Abbey Wood Grange. The most important thing though is that he loves going to
nursery and is always happy when we pick him up.

This is my second child at the nursery and I have found the nursery to be very caring and I have a lot of trust in the staff they hire. During the 4 years that my children have been at the nursery, I have seen very little staff turnover and the staff seem happy and always show a lot of love towards
the children. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone needing childcare whilst they go to work.

My two kids has been going to Abbeywood Grange Nursery for over 6 months now. They have both settled in quickly which help re assured me as their father that they ok. A lot of this is down to friendly stand caring staff. They informed me at each pick up what they have been doing through out the day.
They have been very accommodating if I needed to book them in for extra days or change the times.

This is a wonderful day nursery, with a wonderful child focused ethos and sense of community. Our daughter has been attending the nursery since October 2015 and settled into nursery life within two weeks, mainly due to the great support offered by the lovely team of nursery staff. They were also a great
support to us as parents! The children participate in lots of different activities aimed at helping them learn through play which is fantastic.
I couldn't recommend Abbey Wood highly enough.

My daughter has been attending Abbeywood since she was 1 and is now in the pre school. She loves going to nursery, we have never had a problem with her not settling and she has built great relationships with the staff who are all friendly and approachable. They have wonderful play/learning facilities
both inside and outside with a large garden full of activities for all ages. There is an indoor romp room with soft play which my daughter thoroughly enjoys. All classrooms are well equipped with age appropriate toys etc. All round a great nursery.

When your child asks you if they can go to nursery at the weekend - you know they love being there! I can't praise the team at Abbey Wood Grange enough. The time, dedication and passion they put in to making the children's time at nursery a fun, caring and learning environment is clear to see from the
relationships they form. We couldn't be happier.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.801)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.801) out of 10 for Abbey Wood Grange Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.930 for Abbey Wood Grange Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (214 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 228 Ratings = 4.93
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.871 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Abbey Wood Grange Day Nursery is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 106 number of registered child places is 21.2. 19 Positive Reviews ÷ 21.2 = 0.896
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
