I took the risk of registering my child at Abbey Wood Grange, Kenley without visiting other nurseries in the area. It was however the best decision I have made. From the very first visit until today the staff have been nothing but EXCELLENT. They ALWAYS, without fail, welcome my daughter and I with
a huge smile, lots of warmth and enthusiasm. Whilst being extremely friendly they have always been very professional and have cared for my daughter using first class child care expertise and knowledge. The surroundings are always impeccable, safe and nurturing. Were we not relocating, I would have kept my daughter at Abbey Wood Grange until she was 5. All I can do now is to fully and highly reccommend them to any parent, and, of course, thank them profusely for such an AMAZING job. Thank you.

Such a lovely caring and friendly nursery. They always go the extra mile, whether its decorating the nursery for Xmas/Halloween or caring for your child when they are ill. My daughter took a long time to settle in as used to being at home with me for 10 months but they were very patient with her and
she now adores the nursery and staff and has made friends.

My son has been going to Abbey wood since he was 1yrs old, so over a year and a half and he loves it so much, the staff are amazing! His learning has come a long way. I can't express enough how good the staff are!
The nursery is always clean and tidy and the menu they offer is well balanced healthy
menu. The Xmas decorations are amazing, soon as you step in you are in Santa's grotto.

Very friendly and welcoming nursery. Children have lots of opportunities to engage in a variety of activities. Mine especially likes the soft play room. Days out and fairs also arranged which are lovely for the family to see the nursery and their friends.

My three children (ages 8, 6 and 3) have all been to Abbey Wood and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. The staff are all very welcoming, engaging and interested in the children. The nursery is well equipped with fantastic outdoor space and an indoor soft play area to occupy the children
when it's wet outside. The activities are very varied and the children get to do lots of messy play, which they love!! My daughter is very happy there and is learning lots. As a working parent it makes it a lot easier to go to work knowing your child is in such good hands!

The comprehensive range of facilities at Abbeywood first impressed me. Both of my children love the romp room for example!
Over the years I have always found the staff wonderfully caring to my children, as well as being understanding & aware of demands on parents. Also in terms of responding to contact
I find them extremely speedy and effective. I have found them flexible wherever possible, and after my first child had been there for two years I had no hesitation in booking in my new baby for the same. My experience has been that they encourage children to engage in activities such as self-feeding, laying the table etc as early as possible, which I think is great for their development. My children speak some Spanish and this has been supported by staff with ease and enthusiasm. Big events like Sports day, group trip to Tilgate park etc, are very well organised and lots of fun.

All involved seem genuinely committed to providing an outstanding service to parents and children, as well as creating a homely but stimulating environment. I wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend the nursery to family and friends.

My son has been going to Abbey Wood Grange now for 5 months, and I couldn't be more happy with the level of childcare they provide. Almost all the staff know him by name, even those that do not work with the younger toddlers. My son loves going to nursery and is just thriving there. I can see that his
immediate carers are really attentive to his needs, both educationally and emotionally.

I have recently moved my daughter to Abbey Wood nursery, and I have immediately noticed a step change in her ability, communication, and behaviour. The staff are wonderful and the communication from nursery is fantastic. Abbey Wood has a lovely relaxed, comfortable atmosphere and this comes through
from all of the staff and children, I am so happy to have found Abbey Wood and my daughter has got that experience in her development.

I can highly recommend this nursery which my daughter has been attending for almost a year, first in the baby and now the toddler room. The staff are wonderful and caring, with a very low turnover rate which is great. The activities that the staff do with the children are really creative and fun, and
our daughter regularly brings home the things that she has made which are lovely for us to have. The menus are healthy, tasty and varied and the facilities include a great outdoor space and an indoor romp room so they can burn off all that energy! Knowing that my daughter is so well cared for made my return to work much easier.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.801) out of 10 for Abbey Wood Grange Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.930 for Abbey Wood Grange Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (214 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 228 Ratings = 4.93
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.871 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Abbey Wood Grange Day Nursery is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 106 number of registered child places is 21.2. 19 Positive Reviews ÷ 21.2 = 0.896
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
