Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My son started for 3 days a week when he was 5 months old as I had to return to work. I was so nervous when I first left him, but by the end of his first 3 days I had completely relaxed and felt comfortable that he was safe and happy. My son now attends full time and he loves it - there's not a day
that goes by without him having a big smile on his face when I pick him up.
All the ladies at Hollybank are fantastic. The head of the baby room, Ella, is brilliant, and ensures that everything runs smoothly, and my son absolutely loves his key carer, Chloe.
Everyday the ladies arrange different activities to help the children learn and play, as well as allowing them some time to play independently. The children are encouraged to play outside whenever possible, which is great.
The food they provide is so good I don't have to worry about my son having a balanced healthy diet.
Parents get regular updates through the app so there is full transparency.
Hollybank really is a 5 star nursery!

Both of my boys have attended Oakwood from 11 months until pre-school room age. They both surprise us with the amazing stories they tell us about what they have been up to and the staff are all very invested in their learning and wellbeing. Our boys have made lasting connections with the staff, who
nurture and support them throughout their time there. We picked the nursery mainly because it was big room sizes, with lots of opportunities for kids to make friends, and the large outdoor exploring area. The play they are allowed to explore in the woodland is amazing, and we're glad they get to explore and take risks in the outdoors. We would choose Oakwood house again.

Oakwood House has a wonderful nurturing environment for children from babies to pre school age, with incredible outdoor space. The forest school was the main reason we chose this nursery when our daughter started nursery in 2023 & now we have two children who attend & spending so much time outdoor is
amazing for their resilience and development. The staff are wonderfully kind and caring and all build such amazing relationships with the children and parents alike. Management is very good - responsive & helpful.

We highly recommend this nursery. The staff are all fantastic with the children and go above and beyond. At Christmas they organised a Christmas party for all the children and their siblings and gave them all gifts with a visit from Santa.
With it being a forest school the emphasis on playing outside
is imperative and now the weather is nice our daughter seems to have grown leaps and bounds in confidence outside. We've already got our baby son booked to start when I return to work. They have an app where you get regular updates on what the children are doing and regular photos through out the day. My child always comes home with paintings and drawings and clearly enjoys her days at nursery. She has a key worker again Cody who shows real enthusiasm with the children and I feel happy knowing my child is being monitored by her. We have regular catch ups to discuss my child and how she is being with Cody and the other children I'm so glad I found this nursery would recommend to everyone

We couldn't be more grateful for the wonderful experience our daughter has had at Portland House Nursery. She joined a few years ago, and from her very first day we knew she was in a safe, caring, and nurturing environment. The staff are not only professional and highly skilled, but also genuinely warm
and attentive - they always took the time to understand our girl as an individual, helping her grow in confidence, independence, and kindness.
Over the years, we've seen her blossom from those first hesitant steps into nursery life to becoming a curious, enthusiastic little learner who loves exploring the world around her. The team at Portland House have played such a big role in her development, providing not just excellent early education but also teaching valuable life skills and encouraging friendships that made her nursery years truly special.
Our baby graduated this summer, and while it's bittersweet to say goodbye, we leave with the happiest memories and the reassurance

Harlequin nursery has been a hugely positive and developmental experience for both my 4 and 2 year old.
The open planned nature of the smaller nursery lends itself for a environment that allows children of different ages to interact.
Key workers are excellent at communicating issues and achievement.
We have also been appraised of educational and foundational milestones of our children.
Management has been flexible where possible when we have requested extra days.
All staff from the manager to domestic support staff all seem to genuinely care for the children. I am also impressed with the fact they employ apprentices to give people starting out the chance to learn in a supportive environment.
Facilities and food are varied and of of a high quality.
All round 5 stars would recommend.

My 4 year old daughter and nearly 2 year old son attend Harlequin - my daughter has been going since she was 17 months old.

We have had such a wonderful experience with Harlequin. It's a warm and friendly nursery and the staff are very caring. My daughter runs in happily every morning, and they've

really helped my son settle who goes in happily too.

The food is fantastic, they get lots of time outdoors which they love, and both of my children have come along in their development and social skills since attending.

I would happily recommend this nursery to anyone and am so pleased we chose here for our children.

My child has attended Portland since she was in the baby room, and ever since she was first settling the staff have been warm and caring towards to her.
Throughout my child's time at Portland, we have seen growth in her confidence, social skills and communication.
The staff seem well trained and
my child is kept well stimulated throughout the day.
She has come on in the past few months, her writing skills and pencil control is great, I can tell they are concentrating on getting the Pre Schools 'school ready'
If there was one thing I would mention is the older she has got the less communication we get, you stop getting daily photos/report of the day on the app and it's all verbal by Pre school age, it would be nice to see more photos throughout the month of what she has done.

My daughter has been attending this nursery for a year now, whilst she has struggled with a bit of separation anxiety the improvement over the last few months has been amazing and that is partly to do with the nursery. The staff are great and she loves her days in nursery and even gets exited at the
mention of it! Thank you to all the staff for their continued support and care.

Our daughter attends Harlequin nursery and absolutely loves spending her days playing with her friends and her key worker. She especially loves the outdoors area, exploring in the sandpit and the woods, what ever the weather. Her key worker is fabulous and has a great connection with our daughter and
has really spent time getting to know her likes and dislikes.
As parents we love knowing that our daughter gets lovely nutritious food whilst at nursery.

My review is based on 1) Admin 2) Pre-School.

Recent changes to the fee, was not communicated effectively which lead to confusion, as well as additional payment to be made. This could have been avoided.

Since my daughter joining pre-school, the level of care is different to the other rooms she

has been in. Comms is very limited due to her the impression of busyness and time it takes to attend a buzzer, could be waiting up to 5+mins.

My little boy settled into nursery life very quickly at Portland House and he is always excited to join his friends when we drop him off in the morning. The Daisy baby room team have been fantastic in supporting his development through a range of creative activities (in the baby room and outdoors in
the garden). I really appreciate the thoughtful updates that we receive both in person and via the nursery app. My little one has built lovely relationships with the team and I am very pleased that we chose Portland House. Thank you to all the staff.

I'm pleased with Portland house and how it is run. The staff are pleasant and knowledgable, there have been instances however where my child has come home with soiled underwear, he is toilet trained but needs help wiping sometimes / ensuring he's clean. Secondly there have been a couple of occasions
whereby he has been injured, I've noticed this when it comes to pick up time and it hasn't been noted down.
