Located just opposite the Royal Berkshire Hospital, the beautiful new N Family Club nursery is set in an impressive period property. N Family Club specialise in sensitively restoring buildings so that they remain full of character, while being purpose-built to provide modern learning environments that support the delivery of N's bespoke early years curriculum.

The Reading nursery features a large garden that comes complete with an adventure playground, messy play spaces, a sandpit and plenty of space for outdoor games and learning. To support children as they unleash their creativity, there is a specialist art and cooking room. The playrooms are bright and spacious, and are flooded with natural light. There is a dedicated parent area, featuring a breakfast bar serving fresh coffee each morning, and a large car park perfect for commuting parents.

N Family Club are striving to rethink early years, offering a fresh educational outlook to prepare children for life in the modern world. They were named the UK's highest quality nursery group by Nursery World in 2023, and believe that their approach to early years education supports children to become curious explorers, life-long learners and critical thinkers. The bespoke curriculum that is delivered every day through play-based experiences is designed to be unique to each child, based on their development and their interests.

Laura Matthews, former Head of Nutrition at Jamie Oliver, has also partnered with N to ensure that the balanced, nutritious menu supports every child’s developmental needs. In-house chefs prepare fresh meals every day in the nursery café kitchen.

We absolutely love how incredibly personal the approach to kids is, like everyone truly knows our child and pays attention to the little things that matter. We've seen so much progress already, both in confidence and skills, and it's clear that comes from how attentive and caring the staff are. It's
a place that feels safe, thoughtful, and genuinely supportive, and we couldn't be happier.

My child started nursery in September and I have to say that the team at N Family Reading has been nothing short of fantastic. From drop off to pick up, I believe my child has improved significantly in regards to his milestones and personality. He is also learning a lot from his time at nursery. The
amenities at N Reading are also great alongside the weekly menu which my child really enjoys. Kudos to the team and looking forward to even more milestones and memories ahead.

The team at N have been nothing but welcoming, friendly and profesional. From our first look around with Rhys, our daily welcome from Cat and the amazing team (Rosa and Brit) around our boy. We could not recommend these guys more. The coffee and croissants help too.

We started at N Family Club in July 2025 after a long search for the right nursery. Initially hesitant about choosing a chain due to a past experience, we were impressed by the warm welcome from the front-of-house staff, who were always ready to assist. The smaller rooms for children of similar ages
provide a comfortable, spacious environment, and the staff's support during our son's settling-in process made the transition smooth. We've seen significant progress in his speech and development, especially with new words and sign language. The nursery offers a range of engaging activities that support his growth. The staff encourage healthy eating habits and handovers at pick-up are thorough, ensuring we're informed about his day. Overall, N Family Club has exceeded our expectations. The nurturing environment, caring staff and strong communication make it an excellent choice for our son's early education.

Our child has been going to N Family club in Reading for a few months now and he has settled in nicely, thanks to the staff support and patience. He has learnt so much in just a short period of time and he enjoys spending time with his little friends. A special mention to Antoinette and Evie for being
so caring and kind, to Cat and all the management team for listening to us and guiding us through this journey. So far, it's been an incredibly positive experience!

Since joining last year, our experience at N Reading has been exceptional. From Cat's warm daily welcome to the attentive support of Rhys and Morven, the team creates a family-like atmosphere. Our child's key workers, show genuine care and insight, while the rooms are beautifully set up for play and
learning. Daily updates and the healthy menu reassure us, and the progress in our child's confidence and communication has been remarkable. Especially with all the milestone achievements in our child's development. Truly a home away from home.

My Son has been at N Family Reading since March now and he loves it. He comes home happy and he eats at nursery which is a miracle. His nursery educator is Emily and he's in love with her and the rest of the team Farah (who he calls flower) and Clarissa. Sending littles ones to nursery is so stressful
and gives you lots of anxiety but rest assured N will do what they can to make you feel comfortable with leaving your everything with them.
Also Cat is super helpful and always around to bring light and love. As are Moven and Rhys.

Our daughter started fully in September, and we couldn't be happier with our experience so far. Her settling-in period was incredibly smooth thanks to the staff's patience and genuine care. We always felt supported and reassured, which made the transition so much easier for all of us.
The communication
at the nursery is excellent. The team truly listens, keeps us informed, and supports us with every step, whether it's daily updates, guidance or addressing any questions we have.
The activities offered at the nursery are fantastic for children's development: creative, engaging, and thoughtfully planned. Our daughter absolutely loves going to nursery and seeing her so excited and happy makes us feel confident that she is in the right place.

Both of my daughters attend this nursery, and we couldn't be happier. The staff are absolutely amazing warm, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to the children. The learning curriculum is so personalised, and it's been incredible to see how much it has supported each of my daughters in their own development.
I'm
truly grateful for every member of the team, from the front of the nursery all the way to the back. Everyone plays a part in creating such a brilliant, nurturing environment for my girls. Thank you for everything you do it means the world to us.

We recently made the difficult decision to remove our child from N Family Club. When we joined, the nursery set a very high standard for care and consistency, which, unfortunately I feel my child did not receive during his time there.

There were frequent changes in staffing, and my child was often

with unfamiliar faces, which made settling very difficult. On several occasions, I felt the level of attentiveness and warmth fell short of what young children need and what we were promised.

I raised my concerns more than once, but sadly even with this the issues continued, leaving us with no choice but to look for alternative care.

It's a real shame, as the setting has great potential and the right intentions, but in our experience, the fundamental aspects of consistency and quality of care fell short of the the expections set by the nursery and their ethos.

Reply from Nadia Kiani, Senior Nursery Manager at N Family Club - ReadingHi there, thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We understand how important consistency and familiarity are for young children, and would like to assure you the only team changes or additions that impacted your child's time at N were those made to cover annual leave within our team. While we are unable to provide 1:1 care, we do pride ourselves on delivering attentiveness and warmth to all the children that we have the privilege of looking after. We are committed to parent partnership at N Reading and I am always available to speak over the phone if you have any further questions - please reach out anytime. Thank you.

We love N Family Club. Nursery is such an investment, even with government funding, and the difference between nurseries can feel huge. At N, it is so clear to see how your money is being invested both into your child and into you as a family. Staff are warm and welcoming - no question or query is too
big or too small - they are always ready to help if they can. Even with the small things like noticing I was struggling with the stairs because I'm heavily pregnant so they offered to bring my son to me when I pick up rather than me going to him to collect. I was also blown away by how quickly they were able to get to know my child. He was sad and shy at first, so not showing his true self, and they were able to identify quickly where he was at developmentally and where they could start to challenge his learning when he's playing.

N also have regular online workshops, healthy recipe's, and blogs that they send out to help parents with a range of different topics covered through the year

The nursery is great all round - location, value for money, facilities, garden and the amazing and attentive staff. The menu is impressive - very varied and nutritious. The staff care deeply about all aspects of the children's well-being and personal development. Our child has really flourished there,
and we can tell that others have too. Aside from this, we also really appreciate the friendliness and professionalism of all involved.

We are very satisfied all around. The nursery is being run very efficiently and it's obvious how passionate management and staff are about early childcare development and take a person interested in the wellbeing of the children. We've not yet encountered any issues and communication has been outstanding.

Our child has been at N Reading for nearly two years, starting a few weeks after it opened in 2023 and overall we have been extremely happy with the experience. He has moved through 4 rooms, had many key people, all of whom he has easily warmed to, who always give him a kind welcome and seem genuinely
happy to look after him. I feel content dropping him off there. Every day there is a learning experience set up with new topics to spark his imagination using sensory-rich materials. He has really grown in confidence. The communication with most staff is excellent and many of them have helped him work through some issues sensitively with their passion and knowledge of child development. The outside space is wonderful and outdoors time is prioritised. The management appear highly professional and visible. Communication via the app is brilliant. We are having to move to a new nursery due to relocation of work which we are so sad about, but very grateful for this past 22 months at N Reading.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.885)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.885) out of 10 for N Family Club - Reading is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 72 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 69 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.885 for N Family Club - Reading is calculated as follows: ( (802 Excellents x 5) + (38 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (11 Poors x 2) + (4 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 861 Ratings = 4.885
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for N Family Club - Reading is based on 69 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 135 number of registered child places is 27, which has been reached with 69 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
