Acorn at Rowans offers up to 50 spaces on a full or part time basis for children from 4 months to 5 years old. Conveniently located in Fullers Slade, Milton Keynes, and open from 07:30am until 18:00pm all year round, it's a perfect choice for busy families.

The nursery staff aim to deliver a home from home environment, where children feel safe and comfortable to explore and play in a way that suits them. With their wealth of experience, the team work hard to ensure the nursery is stimulating yet welcoming through activities that engage children and encourage their development. This is aided by the bright and spacious surrounding of the nursery and the great outdoor space that gives children a chance to explore the natural world.

Tasty and balanced meals and snacks are provided at the nursery using fresh ingredients each day, and the kitchen team are happy to cater for any dietary requirements.

  • Fees are inclusive of all meals, snacks, drinks (including approved formula milk), nappies and activities.
    We do not charge registration fees, only a £100 deposit which is refunded against the first month’s fees. We don’t charge for settling in sessions, but we do expect payment for all nursery fees to be paid up front at the beginning of each month, which is standard practice for all childcare providers. We do not charge for bank holidays, our four training days each year, or for the three days closure between Christmas and New Year. We do, however, charge for days children do not attend through illness or holidays, apart from exceptional circumstances.

Really friendly nursery and great with multiples (twins or more) understanding the unique challenges that come with it - treating each child as an individual and never comparing them to their sibling.
My children always come home messy, but happy and full of stories about what they've been up to.
Usually involving plenty of time outdoors.
A transparent fee structure is a massive bonus!

Our daughter has been attending Rowans since September. It has taken her a little while to settle in but she is doing really well. We find all the staff friendly and approachable. We also like seeing the updates of what our daughter is up to throughout the day on the app.

Our son started at Rowans in May and we have been so impressed with how well he has settled in. This has definitely been down to the staff. We feel like they really made an effort to get to know him and this really helped him build great connections with the team.
There is always such a variety of
activities going on each day, and the staff make sure to tell you about them at handover which is always great to hear. They seem to spend lots of time outdoors or at least ensure the children have the option to go out if they want - we think this is great.
Any concerns or worries we've had have been dealt with very quickly and professionally, all the team are very approachable and keen to support and reassure.
Our son absolutely loves nursery, and we're happy parents! Thank you so much to the team.

We have had our twins at Acorns (Rowans) since 11 months old full time and have nothing but positive experiences.
One of the twins has allergies, which the nursery fully accommodates.
All the staff are very genuine and seem to care deeply for all the kids.

You can feel the love and care when you walk in the nursery. Loads of amazing activities to keep your little one busy and most importantly, happy. My daughter settled really quickly and became very independent under the support of her key person and buddies in her room.

Our two boys adore going to nursery here. One started at 2 years old and they helped him settle brilliantly. My other little boy was less than a year old and the staff were really supportive and eased my nerves about him starting so young. They always do a wide variety of activities every week and bring
home lots of art. The staff always give us informative feedback at the end of the day and it's great seeing photos of what the kids have been up to.

My daughter is looked after well and cared for. The staff seem to have great relationships with the children.
The management team communicates well and is always on hand to support, fast and effectively. It’s also clear to see the staff team enjoy working there.
Facilities are great with the rooms
and outdoor spaces. Our daughter frequently goes out on walks too which she seems to really enjoy and we get to see photos and updates via the app, which as parents we really appreciate.

The staff at Acorn Nursery have provided outstanding care for my daughter. As a new mom, it was hard to leave her those first days, but the nursery's compassionate staff put me at ease. My daughter loves spending her days playing and learning with them. I've seen her blossom under their nurturing attention.
I'm incredibly grateful for the safe, stimulating environment they've given my little one to explore and develop.

Great nursery however unable to comment on ICT as not seen or heard of my son learning this however everything else is great and staff are all amazing. Great meals provided each week, staff always friendly upon pick up and drop off. Always notified of any incidents/accidents.

Trustworthy and nice staff. They are good at taking care of children. I can see alot of improvement with my son. He is now more sociable, and he is fast learning how to talk. He is a picky eater, but he is gradually learning how to eat new things.

The staff at Acorn Day Nursery are lovely. They are always available and provide daily feedback on our daughter's day. We really feel like they know our daughter. They have made the settling-in process easy on our daughter as she has quickly become comfortable with the setting and staff. They regularly

Rita Lemos - Nursery Manager


I have been working in the early years sector for over 15 years now.


Originally from Portugal, I moved to the UK at a young age and am fortunate enough to be fluent in both languages.


I hold a Level 3 Childcare qualification, as well as studying at the University of Southampton, specialising in BSc Education, shortly after beginning my leadership and management career in a variety of roles in Central London. Upon starting a family, we chose to move to Milton Keynes, as the area to settle and grow together. And this is where my journey at Acorn began.


I enjoy supporting my team in providing the best learning outcomes for the children in our care, in particular learning and exploring around language development and its impact on cognitive abilities. I also hold a Level 3 SENCo qualification.

I joined Acorn in 2022, I have been working in child care for over 10 years. I have a level 3 qualification in Early Years Education and a level 5 in leadership and management.
