Our son has been attending this nursery for just over a year now, having started his journey at a different Chestnut location. What stands out to us more than anything is how happy he is-he is absolutely beaming every time we drop him off and when he comes out at the end of the day.
We truly value
how well the team keeps us updated on his daily activities and development. While we did encounter some challenges for a short period, I have to commend Sam and the senior team for their transparency. They were completely open about the issues, took full responsibility, and were genuinely apologetic. Most importantly, they worked incredibly hard to resolve the situation and make things right. It gave us so much confidence to see how they handled it, and we couldn't be happier with the care our son receives now

Outstanding team!!! Sam has been so supportive with us moving from a different nursery and made us feel at home straight away. The passion and dedication to the children does not go unnoticed, they base activities around our child's interests keeping him engaged and send videos or pictures for updates.
Our child's speech and development has come on so much in the 3 months he has now been there and he is always talking about the staff when he leaves, especially Shalee!
The team go above and beyond with the activities and events they organise making it feel like a community. They are very quick to respond to emails either directly with the nursery or finance team making it very easy to reach out with any questions.
We can not praise the team enough for their care and compassion and we are so pleased we moved him and our only regret is we wished we had of moved sooner!!

Highly rate chestnut nursery! Our daughter joined after we moved house and settled straight in. Her days are filled with fun with lots of time outside and she loves telling us about all the activities. The nursery has very clear communication and does such lovely events for both parents and kids. We're
so glad we chose Chestnut nursery!

We are absolutely delighted with the support and care the team at Chestnut Nursery provide for our two-year-old. After moving him from another local nursery, we were naturally anxious about how he would settle into a new environment. However, our worries quickly disappeared - he has truly thrived.
He
especially loves the time spent outdoors and the wide range of engaging activities thoughtfully organised by the staff. It's clear how much effort the team puts into creating a nurturing, stimulating, and fun atmosphere for the children.
We also really value the opportunities for families to get involved. Recently, we joined the nursery for Pancake Day celebrations, which was such a lovely way to share in the experience together. Updates via the app are also great for us to check in on his day, food and sleep patterns.
I would highly recommend Chestnut to any parent. Thank you for everything you do - keep up the fantastic work

Great nursery, my son is very happy at Chestnuts. He has been going since he was 11 months old and settled straight away in the baby room with the amazing Mel as his key worker. He has now moved up to the toddler room and is getting more confident every day. He learns so much and comes home with new
songs or words regularly which are from his day at nursery. The staff are really friendly and listen to any concerns. Would recommend.

Both of my children have attended Chestnut Nursery in Taverham, and it has been a wonderful experience for our family. My son currently attends and is so happy there. The staff are caring, supportive, and genuinely invested in the children's wellbeing and development. He has matured so much during his
time with them. The nursery has a real family feel, with great communication and a very supportive approach to the whole family. It's always clean, well-resourced, and the garden is a lovely, safe space for the children to explore. Health and safety is clearly a priority, and the food is consistently good. We feel very lucky to be part of such a nurturing setting.

Our little girl has been attending the nursery for 3 months now and we cannot fault them. She's settled very well and everyone in the baby room is so friendly and you can tell they really care. We get regular updates with wow moments and love the range of activities on offer. They seem to be putting
on lots of events that the parents can get involved in giving a sense of community! The food seems to be nutritious and healthy and they will work with you to follow routines.

Cannot rate Chestnuts highly enough! Both of my children have come here and have learnt so much! The staff have been so welcoming, even before my youngest started! They constantly come home telling me about all the amazing things they have done that day, getting super involved in things like puffy paint
and the mud kitchen! They are both super excited to go to nursery, and run in very happily, which is all down to the warm nature of the staff! Thankyou for keeping my children so happy and healthy!

I cannot praise this nursery enough. All the staff, including the manager, have given my grandson so much joy and confidence that he will take with him to "big school". They are all so patient and clearly love what they do.
Thank you for looking after him - I know he will miss you all

I always feel my child is well looked after at Chestnut. The staff really keep on top of the children's development and we get a report of our child's progress. They are continually setting up new activities and have a book of the month that they base activities around too. Meals seem to be of good
quality and variety. My child has just had the graduation ceremony at Chestnut and they really made a fuss of the children which was very sweet. They seem to genuinely care about the children and I know my child has a good relationship with all of the workers at Chestnut.

The best choice to send out little girl to chestnut nursery .
The staff are so polite and really do seems to care about all children, my daughter has gone since she was 7 months old and has really come out of her shell and has such bubbly personality.
The handovers are lovely and detailed and the
acactivies I see in pictures look lovely. I cannot extend the professionalism that all staff bring to the table.

After moving our daughter from a bigger nursery setting last year, she settled into Chestnut almost immediately. I was really worried moving her away from her friends and at 3 years old I thought it would have been challenging for her, but honestly it was the best decision we made. Our daughter has
really thrived at Chestnut and that is down to the caring and amazing staff. I was so impressed with the additional activities they do with the children such as baking which bigger nurseries can't accommodate.

My son now attends the nursery also in the baby room, and he settled in very quickly and now loves it as much as my daughter. He always walks away with a beaming smile and I feel very confident when both my children are in the nurseries care.

Recently the nursery also hosted a family social Bingo night which was a lovely opportunity to see your child with their friends within the nursery setting.

Chestnut is just brilliant, thank you to the manager and your amazing Team.

Staff are always responsive and understanding. They seem to genuinely care about the children. There are other nurseries with better onsite facilities eg larger outdoor space however it's more important for me to feel comfortable with the people caring for my children which they do.

Our child attended from 18 months until starting primary school. We would highly recommend Chestnuts Taverham. The play areas are lovely, the food is varied and healthy and the staff are amazing. Our child loved going there and was sad to leave, lots of moist eyes at the thoughtful graduation ceremony
the staff held.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.869) out of 10 for Chestnut Nursery Schools @ Taverham is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 21 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.869 for Chestnut Nursery Schools @ Taverham is calculated as follows: ( (218 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 251 Ratings = 4.869
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chestnut Nursery Schools @ Taverham is based on 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 47 number of registered child places is 9.4, which has been reached with 21 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2019

I began my childcare career in 2012 after having my own family. I qualified with a Diploma Level 3 Early Years Educator. I first became a manager in 2015 in a small village pre-school where my own children attended. I have had a wealth of experience managing different nurseries, being able to help children develop and be fortunate enough to really make a difference to their families too. It is the small achievements the children make that reinstates every day why I chose this career. Seeing a child’s eyes light up when they realise they have built the tallest tower or remembered a nursery rhyme is very special. I have just begun my journey with Chestnut Nursery School and already feel part of a very unique family that always puts the child’s needs first.
